Thread: Is it EVER okay for a Jedi to die?

Can anyone seriously answer this question? It would seem as though, even when we win, we cannot "win".
Ohhhh... you mean like how Jedi used to complain about BH being over powered when they were losing to the Melee Stacker/ BH 3000 dabblers...

You are trying to tell me that a new padawan with1 box is supposed to be able to kill a bounty hunter? and if he doesn't it is because of his lack of understanding?.
Please, just delete your character now because you sir are full of crap.
One box of jedi at 8 skill points means he has 32 skill points less than I do. Which is quite enough to match me for offensive firepower, if not defensive. Or vice versa. Well, actually, since I'm a pistoleer/BH, you could probably go master rifleman, parts of CM and parts of... pistoleer? Or more CM? Actually, he can be a master rifleman/CM with 20 skill points left to spare.
Quite enough to kill someone if well played I reckon.
Yes it is possible that he COULD kill someone if his template wasn't ALL Jedi. But some people out there do not realize that the Jedi they are hunting are most likely NOT pure Jedi, but have some other profession under their belt. These people then go onto either the Jedi forums or the Bounty Hunter forums and start complaining how overpowered the Jedi class is.

To the rabbit, the coyote is very unfair. If the coyote is honorable, or clever, it is beyond the rabbit's ability to see. The rabbit does not wish to be eaten, it does not care if this is its role or place in the world or the diet of the coyote.
And the coyote must do what he must do to eat, no matter how the rabbit feels about it. If the coyote fails, more than he will suffer, as the rabbits will grow in number even worse than they have, until the world (and this game) is buried under them.

Then give the damn rabbits a proton carbine and let them take missions out on the coyotes!!!!

Too much whining, too little playing.

Let me turn around the question in an attempt to put it in perspective. You're a bounty hunter. You kill people for money. Let me say that again: You kill people for money. You are a professional murderer. And yet here you are, wondering why people don't like you?Duh.
I think your standing a little too close to the "deep end" on this one. It's not about a popularity contest actually....
It's about the statements I've already made...
Kill them while they are weak, we are noobs
Kill them with a group we are no good respec BHs
Kill them in a 1 vs 1 fight, we are too powerful
Like the orginal post says...is there EVER an okay time to kill a Jedi.
Actually I've noticed the Jedi community (at least on my server) is starting to calm down a lot. None of the 5 Jedi I killed tonight sent me ONE sigle hate tell. I got 2 of... /bow and a "nice fight"...but that was it. The only outstanding hostility came from a Jedi friend, and it was becuase I"m IMP and the Jedi I killed was IMP. I TRIED to explain that after finding the Jedi in the LAST instance I checked (I checke all 6) on the Rryatt trail...I wasn't about to turn around go home and call it a day just because the Jedi was IMP...AND worth 221K. LOL
So maybe things are changing....and I think it's for the best.
My victories felt good, but there was no elation in them. I was just happy to have survived the encounter. The reason being xp loss of course. I totaled up all the losses ive had and it came to over 6 million xp, thats about a month of hard days for me and my play style, and to say that it was a "minor" setback either comes from ignorance or complete lack of compassion, player to player...not BH to mark.
All that being said, I have only gotten "testy" about my losses one time, and that was just pure frustration because I had been hunted and killed 4 times in one day.
To answer your question though, I don't agree with what SOE has forced us to do with group grinding etc. But, It never changed the fact that visibility results in being a hunted mark. That was upfront from the day I became a Jedi. I knew what I was asking for, in other words. So to get angry or upset about a BH doing what they have trained for....is lame IMHO.
I think from a BH perspective, there are no rules (If I ever were to play a BH, Red = Dead) In other words, every instance that you have a chance to claim your money or your mark...you should take it, at least I would.
I do not agree with the rules as they are now though. Visibility used to be generated when Jedi were to pompous or careless, now we have been forced to be visible and it makes for a lot of frustration for players who are just wanting to level.
