Thread: Do you DB Jedi's that do not fight back? that are LD and/or AFK?

Two points to consider when deciding whether or not to chide a BH for killing you while you're AFK/LD:

First of all, the point is not to "fight" for our credits. If that's all there was to it, there would be no hunting in "bounty hunting"; we'd simply stand around in Theed or MO, betting people creds that we could whoop 'em. This isn't "The Princess Bride", I'm not Inigo Montoya, and you're not Wesly. This isn't about dueling. Point of fact: If we could stand toe-to-toe to a jedi who is buffed, stuffed and ready to fight, jedi would be irate! If that were the case, the jedi forums would be full of even more "nerf the heck outta BH's because we worked harder and should be stronger" threads. A full-template, CL 80 jedi IS tougher than I am--MUCH tougher. I know the only way I'm going to have a chance at success is to wait for an "opportunity" and catch him with his pants down, so to speak, so that is what I do. If you'redueling in Theedand doing well, and suddenly you're not doing so well, look around; I may be standing behind you, blasting you for all I'm worth, working for my credits. I've been waiting for just such a moment and it has come! muuahhahhaaaaa!

Secondly, if we all just gave up whenever we ran into our mark while he was at a disadvantage due to dueling, PVP, AFK, or even LD, the next thing we know, jedi who are not full temps would simply starting hitting ctrl+ESC and choosing "exit game" the minute they saw us coming and we'd never make a credit. Point in case; I've already had jedi do this. Whether they suddenly decide it's time for a refreshing swim in the marshes of Dathomir or have gotten a sudden urge to take a seat at the base of the bridge on the Webweaver Path first, the result is the same--get out of reach, logout, and expect me to have moved on when they log back on. It's been one of my goals since I started taking jedi missions to try to teach each jedi that does this that they won't get rid of me so easily. The only way to get me off of your back is to kill me. If we tangle and run, you'd best watch your radar closely from that point on until the mission is auto-deleted from my datapad because I'm out there... and I'm watching, and I'm waiting. You can bank on it. I am.

You can run...
But you'll only die tired.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone's not after you.

Yes, I would kill any Jedi that is LD or AFK without a second thought. I would DB them and then go get another mission. You being LD or AFK is not my problem. That is the Jedi's problem. I am going to complete my mission whether you are at the keyboard or not. Don't like it? Then exit the game. To come make a 'grief' thread, when this is NOT griefing, is just ridiculous. If you Jedi want 100% fair fights go play Unreal Tournament or BattleField 2. That way everyone is on an even playing field. This is PVP, nothing is fair, and might equals right.

I'll always kill a LD/AFK jedi. When they say that wasn't nice,I tell them I would have beat you regardless, and you just would have run. This way I didn't have to worry about the running part.

I thought that the purpose of bounties where to fight for your money. Not to just "grief" someone. I guess some people enjoy stealing candy from 5year olds with a gun.

I have, and do, DB under all instances. Heck I've waited for a jeeteye to go LD before. Work smarter not harder.

I was LD once while overt and killed by a Jedi, so don't give me the Honor, Valor, and Fair fighting surmon bub.

Being overt is different than being hunted. You can't compare the two. You knew you were PvP Enabled so I don't see the deal.. you had a certain expectation you may die. Not all jedi like to PvP and like being attacked. Needless to say I don't know many that logout in the middle of the woods or in a busy city. Just mr 2 cr.

Isee your point. But doJedi have no clue that they are PvP enabled? should they have no less an expectation to be killed?you can do better than that.

First time I was killed I had no idea I was even on the terminals. Jedi don't get a message or anything to let them know if they are taking vos or are even on the terminals. I only knew after I was dead that I was on them.

... and no, just because I am a jedi I shouldn't "expect" to die, it is a possibility yes, but otherwise if your smart shouldn't be a problem. I am just sayin if you come up to someone who is LD in the middle of Theed BEFORE you get there, the honorable thing to do would be to wait.

LOL!!!! 'the honorable thing to do would be to wait.' Get bent is all I have to say. This is PVP, it is not meant to be fair or played by rules. It is kill or be killed. If you are having connection problems on your end, well too bad for you. You are going to die. This is a video game. I do not seek honor. I am looking to kill my mark and get paid. That is it, end of story. You are playing the wrong game son if you think everyone should wait until the fight is 100% fair. Go try Unreal Tournament or BattleField if you need a fight to be fair.

It clearly says in my post that those are BHA rules of engagement, an ethical codeand a matter ofcommon respect for another player.

YOU do whateverthe heIIyou want.

Sorry to interject here grifn but those are BHA rules of engagement on your server. As BHA Guild leader on Chimeara we have no such or need no such rule. With regards to other players, i seldom come across a Jedi i can respect for the simple reason that they are supposed to be the respected, high morality types when the case more often than not is the BH's having to take the moral high ground.

You're right I should've specified the server. I'm most active on the bloodfin board sothat didn't even occur to me. My apologies.

Those are actually Scylla's BHArules of engagementthat I thought were fair so I imposed them over on Bf as well. But there were some points made on this thread that make me rethink the necessity to have any RoEs at all.

No problem mate, it wasn't mean't as a flame so no apology needed. The only rule's we have in our Guild is no Jedi and look after your fellow BH's. TBH i think we're the only non-jedi guild on our server.
