Yes it is a quest weapon. It is from the human standing next to the wookie at the beginning of the Ryatt trail. Very easy quest.

Is the quest easy enough to be done by a Level 54 Master Smuggler???

thought the proton dropped from necrosis. That isn't easy and he drops alot of stuff so not necissarily something that can be done easy. i could be wrong but i think it is a necrosis drop. If so you need a group and hope it drops that when you kill him keep killing him and he will drop it eventually. I hope i'm wrong though cause i need the proton but i am pretty sure i'm right.

he drops the proton rifle (bugged) there are NO schematics that are lootable in Rotw as of yet...only *and it's a bull crap quest nearly impossible for any crafter solo* is the crsytal knife in the mydril caves

I don't know how strong a master smuggler is, but my guess is that you'll be fine...espcially if you can heal yourself. If not, just bring along a buddy.

the quest start at ryyat trails the npc name that give you the quest s Carl ( a men that dress wookie black mountain armor you find him at theright of the first bridge)

The quest is easy Carl ask you one pristine Mistyngar Horn, so you need to walk to the third level ( if this is your first time that you enter in the ryyat ) where you can find those kindy (lol) pet kill them till you can read on your screen "you have found a pristine mistyngar horn).

Return to the gate talk to Carl and he drop you in inventory the proton carabine enjoy

I am sure about the position of mistyngarr and the npc that start the quest, i didn't remeber exactly if the name of npc is carl or Karl

bring with you parwan ( if it is you first Ryyat trail run you need to walk ...walk...walk ) and a kashyyykcamokit so you can avoid all aggro mobs that you meet

Dont forget you need master bounty hunter to use it i think. But its a nice gun i loved using it

If you read my post you'd see that I said they are on (level 3, canopy)
