the trick is to not hit it with any other attack other than the grens... hit it even once with a stray rifle shot or punch and you will get crap combat exp..

I know this is the rifleman thread, but if I chuck a trap at the critter during the combat my combat xp is usually closer to 20% of my rifle xp. Otherwise, combat xp is always 10% of rifle xp.

Okay, I'm 4-4-4-3 with 13200 combat xp. (need 15K) Any suggestions on good combat xp? Get's tiring hitting 10K HAM creatures for a mere 400 xp. I guess I'm just whining about the grinding cause I pretty close, but I'd appreciate any suggestions. Here is other pertainant info:

Pets: beetle, carrion spat mount

Professions: Scout 4-0-4-4 / medic 1-1-0-0 / novice politician - hehe

DISCLAIMER: You have seen this post a zillion times before.

I have snagged not two, not three, but four boxes in pistoleer, and do not even have Stances I yet. Am I doing something wrong? Combat xp is something like 1/10 of weapons xp, yes? By that rationale I should be close to Stances II by now.

There is no real reason for me to be whining about this, except that I cannot bloody wait to start pistol-whipping people *drool*

Educate me.

nothing you can do but grind or use the grenade trick. should be able to find it. using c12 grenades and bleeds only gives straight combat XP. i had enough banked to be more than halfway up when i started rifles.

Use grenades. They're good to initiate combat with and if you throw a couple you can get pretty good Combat XP.

With my fourth box is pistoleer I was also elegible for Stances 2 by this time. I did skip out on support 4 in the marksman tree however, and that might be the difference.

There is an easy way to get comabt xp more quickly if you need it however. Do a bleed on a semi-low-level mob. Peace and unequip your gun. Throw a grenade at the mob. Peace again. Then run away until it dies. All of the xp you receive should be combat xp. (You unequip your gun because most of us have no brawler skills, this nets you more xp)

Try a bleed .

They changed CM Poisons to give Combat XP, and I think it applies to other DoTs as well, but I'm not absolutely certain (thought I was, now I'm not ). Worth giving it a shot though, and seeing if your combat xp goes over 10% (many times using poison, I got MORE combat XP than pistol XP - finished the stances line before 2 of the others).

Just remembered that bleeds do not kill. So finish the mob off with a grenade instead after the bleed has done max damage. This should work jsut as well.

Go out to dant/dath, find a hunting party, Relax and have some fun, the combat xp will fly in.

I was tired of cloning when working on combat xp, So I hit the noob creatures out side of town with all the melee skills, and pistol, carb, heavy weapons, LLC etc.

You can still use a weapon if you don't have a cert for it. Its a tad bit more fun then sitting there waiting for your mind to regen, or self cap cuz you forgot to set a ten minute timer for your moun high.

Its not a ton of combat xp but soon as you hit 2k of weapon xp your capped out.

Have some fun.

I haven't tested this with bleeds alone so take it for what it's worth. I hit my poisons and bleeds and then just fan shot or Kip Up.

I'm averaging anywhere from 500-1000 Combat XP on 2000 Pistol XP kills.

I enjoy being a CM. I buy all my items off the bazaar so it can be relatively expensive but the damage that can be done (and the healing!) is great.

It's definately a Top Heavy profession though. Really weak in the lower ends and strong at the top.

As to your current grouping situation, I find if I get one PMD1 Knockdown in I get a nicer crust of the Experience. Bleed Em and Knock 'em down in group situations.
