Thread: Yet another jedi abusing the TEF

They CAN'T call it a bug/exploit! It took me a while to figure this one out. It's like this, and TRY to pay attention as this requires thinking (YES that was an insult)...
The BEST the BH community could hope for is for the Devs to say it's not working as intended. They have done this by telling Tanks that they are aware, and it will be fixed. What's to fix if the system is working as intended? Are you calling tanks a liar? I hardly think he would remain the BH Corr for long by misquoting the Devs on the SWG public forum. As that "statement" hasn't changed for a while....I'd be willing to think it's accurate.
So that leads us to the question of WHY the Devs won't directly call it an exploit. It's all about liability. If the Devs simply refuse to "ban" players for the hundereds of instances that occur EVERYDAY for a defined exploit (per the Devs), then they would have a problem banning ANYONE for ANY exploit (Credit dupping, spawn looting, weapons looting, etc.). It's called plausible deniability....to "confirm the obvious", leaves a whole lot of other exploiters with a loop hole for precedence.
You can "play dumb if you like", you do it well....but would you REALLY look surprised if a Police Officer arrested you for hitting them JUST because they didn't tell you you couldn't? Or don't think "just makes sense" to you?
Your friend: Don't hit Cops man, they will arrest you.
You: That's not true, the Cops never told me I couldn't hit them.
*You hit a Cop*
You: Why are you arresting me? You didn't tell me I couldn't hit you, I thought my friend was talking about some OTHER Cop.
So here is the BOTTOM LINE: The Devs are NOT going to ban one single Jedi for exploiting the TEF bug....so why not just come clean and admit openly that you exploit. Isn't it more fun that way? Why not just try to improve the BH/Jedi relationship and "pass the buck"....."Yeah, I'm exploiting, and the Devs have let me do it everyday for the past 4 months." /tar BH /shrug
Actually they on many occasions have came out and stated ceartain things are buged and they are aware of it. They are not going to say it's exploiting but they have stated things are bugged and they are aware of it. I am sure it is bugged but all this flameing from people is unneccesarry since a Dev has not stated it is a bug and a fix is in progress publicly. Oh and to say that I exploit by hideing in a house makes you look like an Arse and you have no clue.I have had a MBH before Jedi was arounf and when I had to walk to my missions and I also love to fight BH's but most Bh's are too afraid to attack. Which is funny cause I know several people that can take a fully templated Jedi alone but most would rather come to the forums crying cause they didnt get their way. I like the thrill of stalking my prey. a mark getting away is part of it and I continue to stalk him and I do get the kill. While people like yourself are on here crying I am tracking and actualy being a BH like many I know.Message Edited by Corvett on 06-20-2005 05:35 PM
Hey Corvett...you can STPU now...
I AM the HARDEST working Bounty Hunter
(YES, that is the Jedi that I killed on Kasyyyk without droids)
Just for the record...this Jedi WAS level 80 a double Mastery (one Jedi Master, one non-Jedi Mastery)
So why don't you sit down and shut up. You have NO CLUE, what kind of Bounty Hunter I am, but I'll give you a hint. I'm tired of lazy ass Jedi, like yourself, trying to defend EVERY single little bug and exploit you come across like it's your GOD given right to use it until you are strong enough to start talking smack. Corvett says, "Oh man, no Bh ever comes for me, I really wish they would"....NO, you know WHY they probably don't come for you? It's probably because you are a FotM Jedi with Master Defender (you can deny this all you want, hell, it MAY even be true, but this is the forum, so people get away with a lot) and the BHs on your server are too SMART to waste time on you. The more I think about it, the more you really are an idiot. You think it's "funny" that most BHs are afraid to attack you....but should the Devs actually learn what "balance" means, and give the BHs a "fighting chance" against ALL fully templated Jedi, and it's whine time in the Jedi forums, I bet you wouldn't think THAT'S "funny". Make up your mind, BHs strong enought o consider taking on a Master Defender or too smart to bother, just decide because you sound like a confused teenage girl about what to wear to the mall.
As for having a clue about Jedi...I know that when the Devs says, "Your NOT suppose to be able to do "that"", and you STILL do it....it's an exploit. You say you have been a BH as long as I have? Remember when CSRs would "remove" a Jedi from a battlefield because a BH couldn't attack them while they were in there? How is THIS any different...the ONLY difference MIGHT be in the CSRs themselves, and the quality of help. You sound like the type of person that would keep their mouth shut at a restaurant if you ordered a steak and they brought you pasta, for fear of sounding like a "whinner". What the hell is so wrong for continuing to ask for what's right? The Devs have SAID how the system is suppose to work, and it doesn't, yet you and many like you, are trying (and failing) to make other BHs "feel like cry babies" for asking for a working system? Who are you trying to fool?
You know what I think....I think you decided, "If you can't beat em, join em"....and look at you now. Trying to convice me that a Jedi who has NO TEF for attacking a BH is all part of the game. Well guess what? You and I may have earned MBH about the same time, but that's where the similarity ends....because I'm still here....as a MBH, AND IT'S NOT MY ALT, it's my main, it's my ONLY! I hunt EVERYDAY, and kill just about everyday. No uber weapons, no insane +25 CAs or AAs...just me, and everything I've ever learned from every mission I've ever had. Through it all, through every thing the Jedi can find to use against the BHs...I'm STILL killing them, and where are you? You are on these forums trying to convice players that the system is fine when it's broken. I pay my $15 for my one account, just like you do your yours (or each of yours), and there is NOTHING wrong with asking for this game to be fixed. No matter what you think or say. It's NOT aout whinning because we (BHs) don't get our way. It's all about being pissed off for a long time for not getting "it" the way the Devs say it should be.

I'm seriously not trying to flame, but I'm getting sick off all these people who don't know how to fight and cry when they lose. Yes, it is possible for a non-jedi to spam 1200 point heals without the use of stims. If you play with a templet that can't do this then it's your problem. A jedi has to make room for it in his templet, if you want the same ability, then you have to do the same. And while these aren't the 1500 heals a jedi can do, they can be done without the draining a critical pool and can easily be boosted beyond 1500 with enhancers.
Sorry but he is correct. On TOP of Jedi heals, a jedi can use both Ruby AND Stim Ds, just like everyone else.....or had you not thought of that?

When you take 2 groups of people and pit them specifically against each other, it can only cause bad feelings between them.If people were able to understand that it is just a game and to have fun with it, instead of treating it like a race of life and death, they would be better off. That goes for both sides. There are plenty of BH and Jedi alike that do nothing but complain, niether group is better behaved than the other, even though both groups will offer the opinion that the other group wants it easy and is a bunch of cry babies. There are also plenty of people in both groups that understand and have fun. The goal is to get more people in this group, even though you can never make everyone happy.Just one Jedi's perspective
profoundim a MBH, and however i relize some Jedi who exploit, i also relize that many of my BH brothers exploit in there own way or even worse...
so i agree with you 100%...there are whiners on both sides and if we jsut learned to play the f'n game we would be a hell of alot better off
thats my 2 ..well....i cant afford 2 cents...
I smell Jedi in this post.....didn't know Jedi exploited, come on, that's TOO obvious. As for Bhs exploiting...I invite you and ANYONE else in this thread to list ONE BH exploit....just ONE that is CURRENT!

So...first I was called sexist.....then told to hunt level 80 Jedi....guess what? I STILL get the SAME result.....and about 10 PMs in the last week from people wanting to know my template...
YES...even level 80 Jedi hide
This Jedi wasn't too nice either.... This Jedi even SPIT on me LMAO! Although I DID get teh incapp once in this fight....then came the house sitting....LMAO!
So what have we learned today?
If we walk right up to a Jedi and get killed, we need to use "tactics". If you attack a Jedi while out in the wild, and they are "in combat" (attacking Picketts in this case), then we are cowards. And if we (as BHs) EVER start to win, most Jedi.....5 out of 6 for me...run into a house and call us names.
I've jumped through ever hoop, I'm learned the system, and how to hunt. I'm getting very damn good at it to. However, thanks to the Devs at SOE, I rarely ever see the fruit of my labors.
Hunt high, hunt low, hunt solo, hunt groups.....hunt "Male" Jedi, Hunt "Female" Jedi....nothing changes the fact that Jedi is becomming synonymous with the word "EXPLOITER".
Is there any other type of Jedi I should be hunting to prove my point? Or are the many Jedi in this thread going to continue to make excuses for exploiting the system? Is there something I "just didn't do right"? Oh wait...I know, I know...I didn't do enough damage to the Jedi BEFORE the Jedi could just Force Run into a house...silly me....I'm such a loser.
I asked this in your other post and nobody would respond, perhaps you will in this one. While not condoning exploiting the tef issue, could you tell me your thoughts on BH who continue to attack a jedi after rooting or paralyzing them after they see that the root didn't break on damage?
I know this is a bug and continuing to attack after you see the root didn't break would seem to be exploiting a game bug to your advantage, but I just don't see all the threads complaining about that over on the jedi forum.

You are GRAVELY misinformed......and I dare anyone to tell me I'm wrong about the following:
The root from Stopping shot is NOT suppose to break on damage. The player rooted may still attack back and heal, however, they may NOT move.
Paralyze WAS bugged on TC, and I THINK it made it over to live for about a week. Paralyze DOES break on damage, and I believe concussion shot should as well.
The reason you don't see threads about these issues all over the jedi forums is quite simple...stopping shot was never a bug OR exploit, and paralyze has been fixed. They are not issues, thus, you don't see the threads.

Needless to say, he started talking crap. So I proceed to whip out my CDEF carbine, and he gets real confident. He says "Ouch, this hurts.... lmfao", so I whip out my E11 MK2 and start pounding away. He gets real quiet, and the fights is on. Any how, to make a long story short. He only got my health down 1/2, and I only used 1 stim. He on the other hand healed 8 times, and was 3/4 of the way down, before running out of force. Needless to say, as soon as he ran out of force, he ran into one of his house. I say "That's right hide, I'll see you again.... soon". Anyways I pull my BARC out, and about 1k away from his house he sends me a /tell "Where are you going? You afraid?". I told him that I wasn't going to waste my time, if he can't fight fair. He said, "I only went inside to regen my force".
Thanks again Devs for making Re-specer's possible, and forgetting about us pre-CU BH's. Way to go exploits
Most jedi couldn't fight their way out ofa cardboard box. That's why they need the edge. Sadly you were facing a typical jedi.

i blame soe as much as the actual jeds, they fix wot they wanna and leave wotever suits them..i bet they nerf been able group before they fix that tef..just makes me hunt even more persistantley though..
I remain sickened by the generalization that occurs on both sides of this battle. Not all Jedi use houses, just like not all bh use theduelexploit. My jedi has one house out in the middle of nowhere on tatooine. I have stood my ground and fought every time, lost xp and won respect.

alot of the Jedi that do this i imagine are real @$$hats and cowards so don't waste your time on them...just move onto the next one and shoot off a dissapointed /tell to them and try to make the see that they're just being cowardly and are losing mach-respect that could have been gained by standing their ground.
I can't stand seeing so many people whining about Jedi doing this that and the other, just put up with the fact there is some lowlife out there who are too cowardly to fight with a BH that is coming to kill them for their day's pay...
sorry if any of that sounded a lil outta turn...
The sucky thing about this, is that when this coward finishes their template (through exploiting) they will stand around overt in theed (or wherever) and call you a noob when they easily beat you down.
That was pretty funny. He's level 80 and is hiding in his house.Priceless.

I'm aware of this, I wasn't talking about stims. Read the highlighted part. I'm talking about the ability to heal without stims and biliel, a non-jedi with the right set up can still heal for that much. There are enhnacers ontop of healing professions giving bonuses to healing which make your normal heals VERY potent.
Good...so we agree. I can use my CM skills, Ruby, and Stims to heal about as much as a Jedi can heal without the use of Ruby and Stims....got it.
Again, I said nothing about ruby and stims. I clearly stated the innate ability to heal without these is the same as a jedi's. An enhancer is not a stim, it simply enhances the ability to heal with an actual healing special.

Totally disgusting. It's so said that there's this belief that anything that can be done is not an exploit.
The DEVs "DO" need to make a list of "warning: known exploits" so players are better educated on what they shouldn't be doing.
Do you think if SOE actually printed a manual for playing a jedi character that it would fix this issue? There's nothing in print to date on this.

I feel that part of the reason is that they've let jedi get away with so much for so long. They also continually give into jedi wishes to the point where a jedi can actually feel that even though it's technically a bug they are the choosen gamers of SWG so to not lose XP they should be allowed to go back in their house....after all they are jedi and the rest of us are "normals"
