wow I dont have a jedi but it seems pretty sucky for the people who spent time going through all those prof. just to find out that they are making it easier to get the slot but even harder for them to progress.

I agree but no one forced them to (no pun intended)

If it makes FS a dime a dozen then I'm gonna be highly pissed. While I agree that everyone should have a shot at opening the slot, unlocking the slot should be the primary means of limiting Jedi numbers. They should not settle for a 100% FS population with only 5 people at Master, they should settle for a 2% population with maybe 30% of those unlocked being able to make Master.

thats rediculous if its true. jedi isnt supposed to be some little goal that you achieve, only those who really work for one shouild get one. personally i dont really believe this, why would hte devs be taking suggestions for the new system if they already havfe it planned. that just seems pretty silly

Silly or not it's just the Dev's marketing plan. They think if people see jedi screenshots of the day and stuff then those people will want to be jedi too. So it's actually quite clever to change the system to make it easier to get the slot and harder to master jedi. It's actually in my opinion a silent nerf. Lets say they make it so you need to do maybe 5 really hard missions to unlock your slot, but it takes like a billion jedi exp to get to master? So first the dev's get people to join the game, then they get them to waste a month or so grinding up an elite proffesion, then after that they waste another who knows how long pvping and such. After that they finally get to doing the missions and unlocking the slot.... But WAIT. Now it takes a year just to get the jedi Padawan (even with solid grinding). Well anyway you see my point.

If only it could be true.... The goal is not to unlock the FS and become a Force sensitive character but to become a Jedi. The path should be hard but not to gain 1M xp for being padawan....

Using Quest system for learning how using Force and not kill some hurtons with his LS would be more fun and increase the gameplay.

It's true, I just read the article. The new system will make opening the FS easier. The reason is since that becoming Jedi is attractive to new players and also non power players had no hope of becoming Jedi, they will make it easier for them to open it. You know, by having a quest oriented path.

im still fairly convinced that when(if) they ever put in the new system it -will- be bugged and not work for probably a good 6 months after implementation. But the devs will just tell people "no its working, you are just missing a piece" then suddenly fix it and another 100 jedi's will unlock in 1 day like the first time they turned the system on.

I think they learned with the monthly story that players that are hungry will do it extremely quickly and the geo cave and the upcoming dungeon also show how quickly players can crash through anything in this game.

It is my impression (i have nothing to back this up at hand since its from bits and pieces from all over) that the quest oriented route will do nothing more than replace the holocrons with NPC quests that will require mastery of several professions to complete. The example I read was where an NPC required you to give them a bird cage, crafted by you, therefore basically saying you must master artisan...

I think the whole quest thing will be spoiled in that everyone is expecting this really new and exciting way to unlock when in fact it will be some stupid bit of programming logic like the "master 5 professions and unlock" where prior to launch we were all lead to believe that the quest for FS would be this "fluid and dynamic thing that would not be the same for any 2 players".

I guess the truth of the matter is that I like the game without jedi, given the opportunity, i would try jedi, but its not really fair for me to have one. My reason is that I play for an hour or so a day at best. I would hate to think that in that hour I would log on and spend it running from a bounty hunter. I also do not think it would be fair of me to log out after playing for an hour, not realizing that a BH just spent 45 minutes tracking me down, was 100m from the kill and poof, i'm out of the game for a good 24 hours.

im well against it. i havent got jedi at the moment but when i do get it i want be know that i am one of a few (well quite a lot) that has managed to get this far. personaly i think it would suck if the new system makes it much easyer to unlock your sf solt.
