Thread: Speed Cap
I thought the FAQ said this, but maybe not exactly.....I do know the formulas are there to figure it, I wrote that part of the FAQ ![]()
+60 Carbine Speed needs a 1.0 Weapon Speed to cap our slowest Specials and a 1.47 Weapon Speed to cap FAS2.

Did someone beckon? ![]()
I'll add on TA's suggestion... yep you guessed it... go read the FAQ. Also, to cap all specials at +85, you need a 2.6 speed carbine. Got that set to memory.
Honestly though, it's not that people piss me off when they don't read the FAQ, it's just that it's right there, one of the 1st things you see when you get to the carb boards. For me, I'd rather read a lengthy post for about 5 mins to find the answer ASAP than wait for someone to reply. Guess I'll just never figure some people out.

I really think we should add a stickied thread "Carbineer FAQ Races". In it, we would keep a tally of how many times any given person was the first person to reply to a thread, and the reply wassaying words to the effect of "read the FAQ". Of course it would need to be on a post would need to be one such that this kind of posting made sense (so people didn't start replying that to any and every post). Maybe have a single person who has editing powers start the thread, and keep the thread up to date (within a few days, at least), and have people posting below which threads they replied to in this manner, for future reference.
And yes, this was meant to be a serious suggestion. I think it would be fun. ![]()

Not to mention another post not more than 5 down from the Top with Speed Cap in the Title......

Do they not see it stickied up there?
Are they used to ignoring stickies? Some professions have way too many sticky posts that say nothing.
Is it just simple laziness?
D. All of the above.
Oops, sorry, I'm still in test taking mode. Damn dirty finals week.

Well, speaking for myself, until I started using the forums an a regular basis and started replying "read the FAQ" myself, it was just a matter of not noticing the stickied threads. They are separated from the normal threads, making them easier to glaze over and not notice. Also, since they are stickied, "they must be very old, and contain irrelevant data". That was just me though.
I recently have taken to asking people why they didn't read the FAQ when I reply to questions it contains. (So far only one person has bothered answering.) I'm hoping to figure out some common theme which might be fixed to make the FAQ more visible.
So far my best idea has been to rename the combat medic FAQ to read "master combat medic in 1 day", but I don't think that would have thecorrect effect. ![]()

Hehe to tell you the truth I did ignore the stickies. Some of the boards I go in have so many that I have to scroll down quite a bit to read the most recent thread
And on a side note, now that I have read the FAQ I have to say it is one of the best out of all the combat professions
