Obviously they need to tune down the regen ,, that was absolutely rediculous lol



Other then that , the specials, the guy knocking ya down running up and Armor breaking you then going ranged again and using specials was AWSOME!I love the AIchange .. looks like alot of fun ..wish i had a toon that was BH still for when they fix the Regen problem



I wouldnt worry too much guys , its pretty obvious that some of these elites are spawning with Huge amped up regen that is probably not intended , id be willing to bet they will hotfix that soon




Turning Star Wars Galaxies into a first person shooter is as bad an idea as turning it into a real time strategy game.. thanks for the toilet in the middle of the living room !

The problem of these boss marks are not the hard they hit, nor the specials they do, but their insane regeneration rate.


I faced 2 minutes ago my first post P24 boss, 34k HAM. Knowing about their difficulty increase I used a PvP food combo of vagnerian canape + breath of heaven + booster blue and I even had synthesteak on my bar.


I used permanently duelist stance.


My armor is a padded battle of about 6400 in energy and kinetic.


My weapon is an Elite Carbine 1.95 speed, 436-1063 and 73 SAC (I used SAC powerups to reduce the action cost to 51)


I used a combat droid for trying to reduce a bit his regeneration rate (even before facing the mob, just in a preventive mode)


I had a fierce battle and at least I ran out of mind, so the boss killed me after more than 10 minutes fight. I just dropped his bar in 3/4 (that is, he had about 25% HAM left). He used melee attacks and ranged ones. Kited him a lot, but he used to KD me so fastly that I decided to face him without running in order of not missing my duelist stance. Well... I think the regeneration rate of these bosses are simply overpowered. I loaded my master doctor and went to the place where my corpse was. I rezzed myself and sitted my doctor right by my side (sitted for not wasting mind) and ran an autoheal macro on my BH.


Well... I killed the mark after more than8 minutes with a healer (btw, I am the first one to recognize this healer system is extremely lame, but I wanted to see the loot this baddie had in his pocket). Well... once again, the boss was regenerating himself like mad.


Well... once killed I looted a great item!


Delicate Trigger Assembly


If they fix the regeneration rate in elite/boss marks, they will be more difficult than before but not such a pain. I like a good fight, and I think this little tweak would do the trick. If not, this extremely difficulty will encourage people with 2 PCS and two accounts to use the healing system I used andthat is lame.

Since this was my first gold mark I was thrown off quite a bit on how hard he was hitting. This is NOT a critique of what I should or should not have done. Yes, if I could redo it, I would try duelest stance in some of the instances and I would prolly have tried to kite him more with a rifle. Again.. not a critique on what I use, how I play, or what I should have done.

The video speaks for itself IMHO on how ungodly hard the new bosses are.

I Was never able to see the avi but i know the problem first hand(just have to llok at my equipment to tell).


NOw i will first start with the positives.


1st-The AI is a nice enhancement and would present a challengeto give us a better risk vs reward system.


2nd- I understand that the BOSS Marks and other marks we take should have advantages such as being immune to certain attack specials. Within reason this can cause us to have to pay attention to what is going on and can limit player from using Macro systems to win the fight.


3rd - %#@#% well actually thats all I have noticed that is a positive so now my opinion...


As aMBH/MR cm4xxx I do not expect to be a god at damage(though WE are supposed to be NUKers), and like wise i would not expect that i should be able to remain hidden from a real boss mark for long. My Accuracy is 245 though and I have a fairly well set up armor, food, weapons combo that has served me well for a long time. While the lesser boss marks are done fairly enough it is these 82's that are next to impossible to complete with out serious cost that are not balanced with the pay out of the mark nor equality of other professions.


I have found that KD's are possible maybe once or more in a fight and snares are nearly broken since even if you have them snared they still seem to keep up with you just fine if they want to. The regen Rate problem has been stated well enough and With the exception of powering up my rifle to excessive and costly DPS i can rarely get a mark below 1/4 health before they regen themselves back up.


In this last Publish they were good enough to Fix the force regen for the Jedi, but with these marks they have effectively nerfed the high end NPC content for US self healing Solo Bounty hunters who do not always fit into the soceity of doctors groups. WhileI do not say they are all completely impossible it does have other outside requirements i.e. a strong crafter base on the server(not always true on each server) Medical requirements (Doctors Buffs which are less available dependent on time and location) and over all only certain templates are going to be viable to complete these missions.


This to me seems to be a nerf on the variety of play styles and templatesthat many of us have and has further led me to the point where I am feeling less and less reason to continue using a SOE product. WE have been vocal with our concerns and WE have tried it their way but it is getting very discouraging to have to redo my template every Publish just to be able to play.

umm, patch 24 went thru this morning...so the boss you killed last night doesnt fall under what this thread is about......the new boss marks are virtually impossible to kill, unless you get lucky and grab a mission with a bugged mark. But either way, i think there bugged one way or another.


for anyone who doubts, go find yourself one to kill, and i wish you teh best of luck....just dont be surprised with a free trip to the cloner, or having to cancel the mission







I did four of these this evening with not a lot of trouble. out of the fifteen marks I took only four boss mobs, dissapointing really. Each fight lasted about 5 minutes two were 81's and 2 were 82's. My Template is MBH/M Rifles Pistol 0003, medic 0010 and lastly 1 box of luck from FS. I have +25 to healing efficiency and use a damage pup on a rifle to get min damage 690 and max 1340. I use the normal foods and drinks to give me as much action regen and health as I can get, and I swig buetrium pyro for a +210 to range accuracy. To start off with I do a sniper shot and then stand while hitting, underhand. Next I bodyshot and then stopping shot, move away and get to 60meters and hit him with a snare. You can alternate your kd, snare, and root to keeps these marks out of melee range. I made the mistake of letting the first one get close enough to armor break me, after that no more.

Can I just check were you normally stationary when applying the damage? or were you running and shooting a lot?Do you hit more often than miss?

weird. i did my first BH mission.


im a BH/MCM/xxx1 Pistoller.
my armor is a set of 7k energy resist Ubese.
my weapon is a damage capped Featherweight FWG5.
was using pikatta pie, vegesprine, Pyro. and thundercloud.
used my droid (dz-70 with medical and combat modules CL30)


Target level -82, HAM, not sure, i dont usually check.


Idid note that the targets action never moved.. at least if it did i didnt notice it.
only thing different is it used different ranged attacks. and Knockdowns alot. after i got it aggroed onto me. it left he droid alone and hte droid actually killed it. i was just supplying extra damage.


reward for 5 minutes of fighting: party poster, bounty hunter appeance shcematic:gloves, and a illegal core booster.

Got some elite today... nice fights, really enjoy it.

Then i walked into a CL82 Boss with 34k.

Same thing as in your video.

fighted him 20 minutes and only got him down to 23k then he killed me cause i had no mind left for a heal.


i like hard fights but not that hard. tough my armor lost over 6k condition due that. i will skip the boss mark missions the next time, not worth the afford for me.


The regeneration rate of the mark was awsome. in the time i heald myself and got duelist stance up the mark regenerated around 3k of its HP.

MBH/MRifle/4000CM


No problems with the new changes. I killed 5 dbl gold 81-82 marks last night. No issues.


Yes they are tougher, but not impossible.


I wasn't even wearing super armor, just 5k or so energy resists.


Using ranged arms, I prone at 80m, cover. 5-6 conceal shots. The mob is down to 1/2-3/4 life. As soon as it starts to charge, I KD, Stand, critical shot, snare then it's kite/snare/kd rinse and repeat.


Heal as needed.


Only food used was bofa, caf and whatever the other +178 regen for 50 mins.


If someone was wearing 8k energy resist armor and psg, damage wouldn't be that bad.


As for the regen, I didn't see any problem with taking there ham down. I did however get snared/kd alot more. Also, it was interesting to see the mobs have skill/weapon combos that I could never have.


IE, Carbine, Pistol, Pikeman.

For damage dealersI was normally stationary and I hit a lot more than I miss. Don't get me wrong I do miss, but when I miss a KD or a Root I end up pulling out thescatter and having to reapply while on the move.


One thing I forgot to mention, I always try to keep a bleed on em it seems to slow the regen a lot. I can actually see the MOB's health move when he isn't bleeding.

Thankyou thats exactly what I was expecting. Im thinking the name of the game now is consistency running in circles around your mark will get you no where, you need to increase your hit rate, and decrease regen anyway you can, Droids and bleed together can probably take the edge right off that regen, and standing still to get your shot to hit will allow you to apply the damage properly.


To my mind running around shooting over your shoulder back to your enemy is no way to fight at all.
