I would like to suggest, and I am sure I am not the first to mention it, that the developers institute a population cap on the number of Jedi allowed in the game.

will NEVER happen...80% of the player base at least has or is working on jedi...how can you tell them sorry your work means nothing to us...we are capping it. please still play though!

I am so tired of the I have my jedi so lets cap it posts...

SOE is and will do this though.

balance jedi into the system so they are an elite combat class

put in the force ranked system WITH A CAP that will allow for limited...VERY limited numbers of uber jedi.

The FR system will be tough...very tough and will be very hard to hold onto that spot.

Well we have seen that this is fast becoming not the case. Jedi healer for example has been completely nerfed by the Doctor profession.

The original design intent was for anyone to be able to become a Jedi.

I don't agree with this because originally, there was no advertising that you could become Jedi. Even in the manuals they sold listed all professions EXCEPT Jedi.

LMAO, read the back of your Galaxies box:

"Immerse yourself in Star Wars like never before. Join the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, or seek out the ancient mysteries of the Jedi..."

The box also says this:

"Follow your own path with a skill-based advancement system, which accommodates your style of play, whether you become a bounty hunter or a dancer, or a merchant or even a jedi"

It also mentiond you could become a jedi in the E-mail you got when you first created a character.

I am also sure the manual states the ability to become a Jedi, as well. It may not list the skill trees, but it does say that all players may become a Jedi.

Iif you started with the Vet Yacht, welded a Y-Wing on top in the back, and welded a YT-1300 on the top in the front you'd have the Enterprise.

They shouldnt put a hard cap on Jedi, as they would lose to many customers this way. They could put a soft cap on them by adding more risk associated with playing a Jedi. They need to maximize both the risk and rewards for playing the profession. This is the only way the Jedi nerfs will stop, and its the only way to thin their numberswithout having to put a block on them.

I think everyone should be allowed to pursue Jedi, however I think that only the few that have mastered game mechanics and strategy will be able to make it all the way to the top. Jedi can become more powerful this way, and a little less common at the same time. They would also be ALOT more fun to play in my opinion.

Umm ... did any of you guys who don't want Jedi in this game see the same films as me? ... talk about timeline all you want ... talk about the fact that Vader hunted the Jedi into hiding or extinction ... how did you EVER imagine that a Star Wars mmo with a playable Jedi class would NOT become swamped with Jedi? ... Star Wars is ALL about the Jedi guys ... period ... hell the guy even went back and made another 3 films to explain how Vader BECAME a Jedi and subsequently a Sith ...
