that gives major crowd control, intimidate, and stopping shot
I'm wondering if I'll be able to do enough damage. Speed and accuracy might be an issue, but I'm going to test it out
Here we go, I ended up with MBH/MPis/Squad Leader 0404
Accuracy 230 (General 190, Pistol 40)
Speed 120 (General 75, Pistol 45)
Melee Defense 270 (Melee 220, Pistol 50)
Ranged Defense 310 (Ranged 235, Pistol 50, Group 25)
Volley Fire gives additional accuracy and damagebonus against a single target, a bonus which is given to the squadleader himself as well.
I can:
Blind
Stun
Dizzy
Bleed
Intimidate
Knockdown in melee and on range
I can increase power of my shots (Warning Shot)
I can disable a player from using their weapon for awhile (Disarm Shot)
I can root a player (Stopping Shot)
I can attack multiple targets (Fan Shot)
I can recover Blind, Dizzy, Stun and Knockdown

I gave MBH, MP, Carbs 0440, Marks 0444 a workout tonite on Test Center and I was unbeatable. Much different than my other expereinces. I think a big factor was having the 80 combat level. Even at 78 combat level I wasnt doing as much damage to level 80 pvpers. I didnt think the 2 pnts would make a difference but for some reason it does. Also, I did try MBH, M carbs and for some reason (maybe its just me) but the MBH, MP combo works better with the carbs even though I did have the best pistol specials when I had M. Carbs. /shrug
The only issue I had was using to much action which caused some battles to drag on and on since we were both running low on action.
Hopefully I can respec to this template as on live I am MBH ranged dabbler.

this sounds like what i was thinking about doing. Only I wanted some medic skills. Do the simple stims help enough to get past the loss of any medical skills?
I'm playing around on the Kodan tool and came up with two similar templates with some pros and cons:
Both are Master Rifleman.
One is Master Marksman the other is 4404
One is BH 4044 the other is 4144
One is Pistoleer 0403 the other is 0444
Basically it boils down to the One template has lower defenses (+115 Melee , +201 Ranged) but higher accuracy and speed (with rifle mods; +307 Acc, +114 Speed)
The other templatehas better defenses (+130 Melee, +208 Ranged) but lower Accuracy and Speed (+282, +99)
Anyone have any ideas on the whole diminishing returns thing and what the slope of that curve looks like?
In other words, is there abig enough difference in the speed and accuracy to make it worth the lowered defenses?
Edit:
Now I'm MBH+MC with enough skill points left for medic 4040 and novice doc OR pistoleer 0134 (for melee defense and intimidate shot)

I'm still playing with it, working with a Jedi friend to see what's the most effective......not that I do alot of Jedi hunting (I was doc for a long time, this is an old template I'm resurrecting).
I'm giving MBH/Master Marksman/Rifles 4440/Pistols 0004 a shot. That puts me at a 77 combat level, but I'm a wookiee, so it shouldn't affect me too bad (health is still over 3150). This way, I have most of the accuracy and speed of rifles, using an Assault Bowcaster w/400+ DPS, plus the stopping shot from pistols. As far as I know, all ranged specials work with all ranged weapons to a degree, so stopping shot, confuse shot, KD, then kite away......I might not be able to kill a Master Jedi, but I'll hurt him alot, I think. I'll test it later on today or early tomorrow to see how it works.
The icons are really messing me up, though, they're so hard to see clearly.
