I was thinking about trying MBH, Master Smuggler, 0031 Pistols

that gives major crowd control, intimidate, and stopping shot

I'm wondering if I'll be able to do enough damage. Speed and accuracy might be an issue, but I'm going to test it out

Is MBH worth the skill point investment vs. being a master in one of the ranged prof and justs going up that line in BH?

For example,

Master Rifleman and BH 4004?

That could leave some SP for dabbling in other profs like TKA or Ranger?

I know from pre-CU rifleman that the master box made a tremendous difference, so does anyone have any insight into if that'll be the case post-CU for BH?

Here we go, I ended up with MBH/MPis/Squad Leader 0404

Accuracy 230 (General 190, Pistol 40)
Speed 120 (General 75, Pistol 45)
Melee Defense 270 (Melee 220, Pistol 50)
Ranged Defense 310 (Ranged 235, Pistol 50, Group 25)

Volley Fire gives additional accuracy and damagebonus against a single target, a bonus which is given to the squadleader himself as well.

I can:
Blind
Stun
Dizzy
Bleed
Intimidate
Knockdown in melee and on range

I can increase power of my shots (Warning Shot)
I can disable a player from using their weapon for awhile (Disarm Shot)
I can root a player (Stopping Shot)
I can attack multiple targets (Fan Shot)

I can recover Blind, Dizzy, Stun and Knockdown

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

I gave MBH, MP, Carbs 0440, Marks 0444 a workout tonite on Test Center and I was unbeatable. Much different than my other expereinces. I think a big factor was having the 80 combat level. Even at 78 combat level I wasnt doing as much damage to level 80 pvpers. I didnt think the 2 pnts would make a difference but for some reason it does. Also, I did try MBH, M carbs and for some reason (maybe its just me) but the MBH, MP combo works better with the carbs even though I did have the best pistol specials when I had M. Carbs. /shrug

The only issue I had was using to much action which caused some battles to drag on and on since we were both running low on action.

Hopefully I can respec to this template as on live I am MBH ranged dabbler.

this sounds like what i was thinking about doing. Only I wanted some medic skills. Do the simple stims help enough to get past the loss of any medical skills?

I'm playing around on the Kodan tool and came up with two similar templates with some pros and cons:

Both are Master Rifleman.

One is Master Marksman the other is 4404

One is BH 4044 the other is 4144

One is Pistoleer 0403 the other is 0444

Basically it boils down to the One template has lower defenses (+115 Melee , +201 Ranged) but higher accuracy and speed (with rifle mods; +307 Acc, +114 Speed)

The other templatehas better defenses (+130 Melee, +208 Ranged) but lower Accuracy and Speed (+282, +99)

Anyone have any ideas on the whole diminishing returns thing and what the slope of that curve looks like?

In other words, is there abig enough difference in the speed and accuracy to make it worth the lowered defenses?

Bounty Hunter 4000, Master Swordsman, Medic 0040 still seems good after cu like it was before cu. I killed alot of jedi before cu with this template with a 900dmg PH, Now with a base power hammer after cu you do arround 700-1000dmg to a jedi just remember to use armor breakif their master defender!

Whatever Jedi your fighting, they have the hugh disadvantages to use force.

So you have to live long enough for the jedi togo dry.

With this in mind, you need defense.

Master BH is great to bring you defense and nice move.

Confusion shot to stun is your friend, you don t want the jedi to channel, stop is regen of action.

Torso shot for the bleed.

Critical shot is your main damage dealer, but the cool down make you switch with torse for more DPS.

Next you need good offence to complement.

I suggest Master rifleman or Master carabine.

You will lack root, but the snare + the long range should keep you far from the jedi at most moment (kit)

Master Pistol is possible but you arein range for sabre throw. You get root tho.

You can get the one you prefer, but the last part is the most important.

You could dable in a .5 elite to maximise acc and def. It is a smart choice.

But you might also have realized that you mind pool is never used !

Instead, grab CM 4000 to get several healing, which can be used when you are waiting for action regen.

This is gonna make you tank.

As a variant, you could take CM 0400 for a fire and disease/poison toss, or CM 0040 to sap (stop action regain, devastating with stun and not healable by healstate). You will gain less healing power but more offensive diversity.

Learn your cool down group, so that you maximize your DPS by switching specials effectivly.

Then, learn your favorite sequence, how much damage it does and the action cost, so that you start it with enough action to complete at the strategic moment to kill your target.

With such a template, Jedi that are not MDef, LS 0404, ENh 2003, Heal 4000 are gonna be in deep trouble.

For those who have the above template, you have to be patient and monitor the momenthe has no force, and he will be channelling a lot, leaving his health at around 1500 max. -> kill him then.

Edit:

Oh, and the advantages to go rifleman (or pistol, but range is an issue), is that you get reconnaissance armor, with highest energy layer defense armor.

Has anyone tried medic skills? The fights I have lost have been long enough for some healing to make a difference.
Now I'm MBH+MC with enough skill points left for medic 4040 and novice doc OR pistoleer 0134 (for melee defense and intimidate shot)

I am trying out some new templates for the BH.

Pre-CUI was BH34xx/Master Carb/SL 0044. I still have it,but after CUI feel that I need to change around abit. I was looking around the BH Forum and found some ideas that sounded nice. I also got my own ideas about what proffs to use..

I noticed "MsNiL"s Template with MBH/MP/Squad Leader 0404. (Change to MCarb maybe?)

I have my own idea of maybe go BH34xx/MP/MCarb or BH3x4x/MP/MCarb. I want the "Rooting" from Pistoleer xxx3, and the Def/Speed of Pistoleer is pretty nice. The KD shots that the Carb and Pistoleer should be very useful aswell. I am unsure what BH tree to go, if I want x4xx or xx4x.

Any help or thought apriciated!

I dont have any Calc so I am not sure how to get the "info/data" as I want it. I hoped that some of you Bounty Hunters here could maybe help me out with this.

If any of you know of a Post-CU profession Calculator, I am more then happy to get a url to it, thank you.

I'm still playing with it, working with a Jedi friend to see what's the most effective......not that I do alot of Jedi hunting (I was doc for a long time, this is an old template I'm resurrecting).

I'm giving MBH/Master Marksman/Rifles 4440/Pistols 0004 a shot. That puts me at a 77 combat level, but I'm a wookiee, so it shouldn't affect me too bad (health is still over 3150). This way, I have most of the accuracy and speed of rifles, using an Assault Bowcaster w/400+ DPS, plus the stopping shot from pistols. As far as I know, all ranged specials work with all ranged weapons to a degree, so stopping shot, confuse shot, KD, then kite away......I might not be able to kill a Master Jedi, but I'll hurt him alot, I think. I'll test it later on today or early tomorrow to see how it works.

The icons are really messing me up, though, they're so hard to see clearly.

I'm going for Master Smuggler, Master Bounty Hunter and 0400 Pistols. This fits my concept like a glove and for Jedi hunting it sounds like it can be some fun. I can debuff and lock them down till the banthas come home, no clue how my DPS will rank up but going for the accuracy in pistols will help since smuggler doesn't give me that much. Right now at Master Smuggler 4421 BH I'm doing pretty well in the whole crowd control debuff department but my damage lacks behind the riflemen i was grouping with by a bit, but critical shot is good as my main attack. Overall I think I'm going to enjoy this template quite a bit.
