Thread: Cancelled account
I have to admit that the system to become force sensitive is not somthing mostplayers do as a matter of course. Some people love the idea of crafting, then selling their products on the player market. This is a whole lot of fun for them. Being the best Chef, or Weaponsmith, etc. Yet some of these type of players would balk at being required to drop the profession they love and learn the art of war, or search the galaxy for strange and powerful creatures. Likewise the player that prides himself/herself on being a superb pvp combatant, with top of the line armor and weapons would perhaps have a hard time dropping that armor for a string bikini and doing lap dances for tips.
The system isn't somthing that the large percent of the population would normally do, and it's painful. Much more painful and time consuming than finding the way to beat a tough Mob, or clever quest. It requires giving up somthing you love to do. In other words, real sacrifice. Honestly how can a game, any game really reflect sacrifice. The only way it can make a road really difficult is to make you sacrifice the one and only true commodity in a game like this...enjoyment, and time.
To become a Jedi in the movies one of the supreme sacrifices that they had to give up was attachment to things, people, and even in some cases personal beliefs. Since it is impossible to reflect that in a game the Devs chose wisely to make the road to Jedi...Painful. Yes painful for all of us that love our characters and what they do. Painful because in many cases the road to becoming a Jedi involves playing professions that are the least enjoyable to us, and painful because this road involves spending precious time doing things that we have 0 interest in.
The Jedi is for those with the deepest commitment that this game can offer. It's asking you a question. How bad do you really want this? Is it really worth it? For some the answer is yes. Others the answer is no. As it should be.

First of all I agree with many when they say they are sick of hearing people whine and complain, secondly, if you want to be a jedi now, go by Knights of the Old Republic, but if you are up for a challenge then do what you have to do to get it. Personally I know how you feel, 1st holo was master bio eng, 3/4 crafting, 2nd holo was master chef, get mixocology II then grind Irothian Mist or whatever needs wheat/corn/water, you get 178xp for it and you can fly through chef, its actually quite easy, just very expensive
Cut the complaining, if it were easy to get FS, then everyone would be a jedi and that wouldnt be any fun

Well, I quit but didn't bother to tell you **edit**ing morons (well, until now anyway).
That make you a bit happier you dumb **edit**s?
Good thing is once your account runs out you will no longer be able to post here...
Don't let the door hit you on your way out btw....
Cancelling the account or not, all I think about is where the heck is all that money going to... if you do the math from the numbers that have been release by SOE to pump up their reputation, it's over 300,000 accounts... we all know how much it costs for 1 account a month(if you buy one year its like 12 bucks). Over 4 mill a month income...
I just want to know where that money is going... obviously they should be making thier money to buy fancy stuff and whatever, but put some back into the game, and you will get return in the long run(ie make the game good, and the income of 1 month reinvested could turn into 1 year of income in return from happy customers). This all boils down to if this game was just something to make money on for the next release that SOE has planned...
I agree with posting this on the boards, it gets your word out. It shows others what you are doing, movements didn't get started by someone quietly ducking out... You go out with a bang and hope others follow you(hardly a bang but...). If only 1 other person follows you, then you have done your part to try and help the situation. The only way SOE will reinvest is when they see their overall income start dropping, this is what the original poster was attempting I believe, and I stand behind him.
I won't cancel my account, cause I got a profession that I'm having a blast mastering, but if I didn't I may have cancelled as well. I don't believe in a company directing game play in the fashion SOE is with these holocrons, you don't have to do what they say, but alot of people chose to play this game to be a Jedi, or attempt one anyway. I see the point of view that I pay to play, I should have to obey the rules of play, but I shouldn't be told the path to follow, I should be able to choose.
Anyway, I find it sad that people are leaving the game because SOE can't patch their creation fast enough. This isn't just SOE's fault, it's the world's....
We have driven the market to a "first one on the shelves wins" state. Look at Windows Xp's release. Since build 2600 there has been 2 service packs, and about 300 other patches...
It's sad...
holo 1: pikeman
