"Bottom line is the Dev's dont really care. You know how I know that? Feedback. Or the lack thereof. if they cared AT ALL they would at least stop by, even to say nothing, just to let us know they were out there. I call my father every week, just to say hi, even though I dont have a **edit** thing to talk about. but at least he knows Im still out there and Im thinking about him."

TH did stop by on the Top5 thread and made a post.

Result, he got flamed. There is a very local minority here that is interested more in complaining then getting results.

If that's the response I get I wouldn't stop by either. It is damned if you do, and damned if you don't. First people complained that he didn't show up. He shows up and now people complain that he did not have great news for them. So, your example with your dad doesn't wash.

FYI, I have gotten 3 responses so far regarding the BH terminal name issue, until it got fixed. I posted the first response, I got. You know what the response to that thread was? Apathy, that it was BS etc.

You guys want the devs to communicate, and when they do then you go ahead and tell them they are full of BS (or worse).

On this forum devs communicating with anyone is a NO WIN situation for the devs.

wepps, i'm not here to flame, i thought you were great as a correspondent (sp?), but like every day i see a post where you're threatning to leave the game.......if that's what you want to do, then do it, but i really don't think the devs spend much time on this forum in particular, (you would know if they did as an ex-correspondent) and if they do, then it's pretty **edit** clear that they don't really give a flip. All i'm saying is that i don't think that these " I swear I'm gonna quit this game!!" posts don't seem to have any effect, especially if there is one from the same select group of players every other day. If you want to quit then quit, if not then switch profession's, take a break, do something, but endless ranting is not getting us as a whole anywhere, because, as is becoming clear, the devs don't listen to us, and barely listen to tanks.

on a side note tho, why i did love ya so much as a correspondent is because i'm sure you gave them hell over on that forum. We needed that, something to wake them up and force them to pay attention. It's jst that these posts are getting quite old, and frankly quite pointless. You want what we all want, but threats have gotten us no where.

I think everyone is missing the indirect fixes the devs have made for the Bounty Hunter. Specifically, the investigation line. Now, with the caveat that I'm only up to Inv 2, the recent additions of vehicles and Player Cities seemed to have made this much easier. I can take a shuttle to just about anywhere on the map and be within 2000m of a mark. And, with my trusty speeder bike, i can be at my mark in under 5 minutes.

Now, I know there are a ton of other issues that need to be addressed, and the dev feedback hasn't been the best. But come on guys, the profession isn't nearly as broken as the people on these boards would have you believe. 3 of the top 5 issues were investigation related. To me, this line seems to be working just fine.

I'm sure you more advanced BH will have a beef with that statement, but don't worry about posting. I'm sure someone else will bitch for you

Thunderheart was flamed. This is true, and I think we as a community can be a bit more <ahem> reserved and positive about our remarks.

However, I don't think it's a big surprise that there is a frustrated profession community. Much of this frustration is because of lack of communication with SOE and thier position on the state of this profession. Thunderheart happens to be the representative of the company who we are handing money to for a service. We are utilizing their product, heck we are beta testing AND paying them for that privilage, so I'm not sure I can empathize with the stance that TH feels like we rip him a hole when he makes a post.

This is not to say I condone anyone being unprofessional flaming his posts, but dealing with an unhappy customer base is sort of his job isn't it?

So Isuggest we present our problems, complaints and ideas in a constructive format, and in turn SOE decides to legitimately listen and come up with solutions that both company and customers can live with by balancing our class.

Once we start consistantly show we are constructively offering ideas, problems and solutions and SOE STILL continues to ignore this profession and it's community, only then can we stand up and take a firmer position and put SOE and it's employees on the spot.

Why do people on this board spank Devs on the rare occassions that they wander in here? Because we are frustrated with watching the profession we have worked toward for months being made increasingly useless, and because the responses we get from the devs inadequately address this if they address it at all. I have to agree with Wepps that the only change that has been implemented regarding the BH profession that was not a nerf was by and large a pro gratis gift to the holo-grinders. The Devs get flamed because none of them come here and say "You're right; BH has been reduced beyond reason both directly (nerfing) and indirectly (improvements to other classes), and we are working right now to make BH a formidable profession again. Expect positive changes soon." What he tend to hear instead is "We are fixing the bug that makes marks unattackable" (this continued for at least two months after alleged fix, assuming it isn't still happening), and "Holocrons all around!Happy holidays!". We are angry because we keep getting hit in the face in the name of development, and are offered platitudes instead of progress. Why? Because the Darwinian approach to customer service dictates that you can thuroughly screw a small percentage of your customers so long as you reasonablysatisfy the larger percent. Only a small percentage of players will take the time to climb toward the top of the BH tree; far more players will climb the pistoleer and TK trees (as they require less time and tedium), thus it is that group that you attempt to satisfy. Keep in mind that we, unlike chefs, DE, and the other crafting professions that have suffered so much inattention, are not necessary; we do not provide anything (i.e. droids, foods, weapons, factories, etc.) that keep the game functioning, and so if our profession sinks into obscurity...oh well. The devs get their paychecks, the hoarde of pistoleers and melee dabblers (nothing against any of you guys, you apparently made better character decisions than I have) get a game that is fun to some degree, and we're left with a bad taste in our mouths and a character we no longer wish to play.

Lol, don't blame SOE, blame Adam Smith.

Im sorry Wepps but youre becoming a broken record. This is at at least the 3rd time Ive seen a thread like this from you. The first time you stated that enough was enough and that you would leave by 12/31, the second time you stated that enough was enough and you were leaving by 12/31 and now the third time youve said the same exact thing.

How many times do you have to make new threads about the same thing?

Fact is Bounty Hunter was great before all the nerfs and stuff. Its good in pve but pvp its really the laughing stock of professions. I wish they'd do something to put the fear of Bounty Hunter back into people again. We should be doing the most damage with the exception of commando's hands down.

Tanks is correct.

I'm going to go a step further. A large part of the problems BH's are having right now are due entirely to Wepps.

Wepps was the corespondant, and rather than behave like an adult and a professional, he turned BH's issues into a crusade against every other combat proffession that was functional. All of his work constituted direct & indirect attacks against other combat proffessions, often with little or no basis in fact. He often left out important facets of his "issues" in favor of making things look alot worse than they seemed. Available information indicates that he did that, not only here, but on the corespondant boards as well. Of course, being the corespondant, his "information" was accepted as valid without further investigation by the Players. I'm not pointing fingers, I would have done the same thing too reading a "Leaders" posts.

But his information wasn't correct. It never had been. Many saw that, including the Devs. Why would the Devs listen to him when they knew he would purposefully ignore things and campaign against other proffessions to fulfill his goals? Worse, his misinformation tainted the BH community, making it equally difficult to converse with them.

I've played Smuggler, Pistoleer, and TKA. His points have Validity, but only if you ignore other factors. Such as his campaign against the Smuggler Combos, which he never mentions that they 2 out of the 3 skills are on timers and resistable. Or his campaign against Pistoleers, which he never mentions that the key to making it function is spending208 skill credits. More skill credits than it takes to Master Commando, which by his 217 arguements should grant that person that power.

The ONLY way the BH community is going to see better communication and results is to stop listening to Wepps, and his dogma, and following Tanks. Tanks has a better grasp on reality, and is actually working to make BH better. Unlike Wepps.

Yeah, he stopped by and made his typical "Blah blah blah soon blah blah need info first blah blah prioritize blah blah process blah blah" post and then made it very clear he wasn't coming back, which is something I've never seem him say to another profession.

Go read his post, and tell me what great info he passed along to us:

Good luck getting that info you want for the Top 5 "response", but I suspect you won't have it before my account runs out next month.

Did you read all of what Tanks said? Most of us just asked for some DEV to come by and acknowledge that we exist. Well TH did that and guess what, a lot of ppl flamed him for it.

Like Tanks said when it comes to the DEVs, damned if they do, damned if they dont.

Uh, if anybody just wanted someone to come by and say hi, they were idiots.

*I* wanted a dev to come by and tell us something useful.
