Thread: Investigation XP
right, player versus environment.....as opposed to player versus player....pvp bases require you to be declared special forces, pve only require you to be a combatant.
you can't get into a pvp base to slice it if not spec forces, can't get into a pve base to slice it if not combatant...you can tell the difference because pve bases will have a bunch of npc's defending them.
PvE means "Player versus Environment", i.e. NPC's and mobs. The flipside is PvP, or "Player versusPlayer".
About the terms for Investigation XP:
1. Go "Combatant" for either side by finding a recruiter and signing up. You'll get the warning about how members of the opposing side will likely shoot you on sight. Whee!
2. Go to a base of the opposing side. I think it doesn't matter if it's a NPC base or a PC base, though NPC bases work for sure.
3. Type /target term to find the "uplink terminal"
4. Open the radial and select the option to jam it.
Each terminal is worth 1k XP, but can only be done once per day by ANYONE. That means that if someone got to it before you in the last 24 hours, tough luck.
If you're not looking for a tough fight against CL 80 NPC's, try to find Forward Outposts. The NPC's there are lower CL.
One last note - for a list of abbreviations and acronyms, try the Glossary on the main page. It really helped me when I started playing.

I'm going MBH on Euro-Chimaera.
As always I think the Inve XP grind is a little slow, but I dont mind.
Here's my question...
Does anyone, who can sympathise with the Inv XP grind, want to help me kill the NPC's?
I'd like to group do the CL81 or 82 levels. Im a bit slow at killing hem with my CL 75.
Thanks.
