Thread: Player Bounties
Another cool idea would be to make out our own bounties for others to hunt. Just think, if I put a price on that let's say nOOb that other guy was talking about, then he would get hunted and get a little message about why he was hunted and why he got killed.
There would be a limit though and the cost and fees for something like this would be very costly, but hey, isn't that what bounties are. To take out that person that gets under your skin. You know that you can't take the guy out, but you have the cash.
So why not post a bounty on that creep and let the BH do the work for you. If they fail, well, they don't get paid, but if they finish the poor scum off, he gets paid and you get the saticfation that the creep was hunted and killed!
Isn't that the life of a Bounty Hunter, to hunt the people who are bothering others?

Just wondering if SOE are ever going to implement non-jedi player bounties?
Like for players who have -certain number against a certain faction they get there names on the terminal. Like in Star Wars when Han Solo pis$ed of Jaba and got a BH after him. I know SOE dont really stick to Star Wars but just hope they will add this, would be cool to hunt players that arent just jedi. Would give more fear to bounty hunters and more of a meaning to the proffession, not just hunting NPC marks all the time.
I know tehy havent fixed Jedi missions yet but i think the above would be a cool idea. I also know there are other proffessions in the game that need fixing, some more so than what BH needs.
The problem with using faction points is that I dont know how I got -2750 Nym faction points. Not only do I not know how I got them, but I dont know what faction I need to start killing to increase my Nym faction.
Plus, who doesnt have -5000 thug faction already. I would have to kill dozens of townfolk each day to prevent from getting a player bounty on my head.
So suddenly I am forced into PvP because I dont kill townfolks or I did not realize my Nym faction was getting low. Even just considering rebel/inperial faction points. How many people are covert because they like the faction PvE missions. Suddently doing nothing but PvE missions can force me into PvP.

It's true this would force you into PvP, but it was proposed more than once that if a player BH killed you, your negative faction reverts to zero. Thus, you could not receive a bounty again unless you gained another negative 5000 faction.
It was also proposed that you would not suffer any decay on your items if a player BH killed you.
Personally, I wouldn't mind having a fellow player hunt me down on behalf of the factions that hate me. I suffer no real loss and it adds a (much needed) heightened sense of excitement to the game.
Heh...the Jawas would be putting a price on my head...My character's bio tells of how Jawas slaughtered his family and he has vowed revenge, so I just killed ever Jawa I saw. I'm proud of my -5000 jawa faction 
Gotta leave the tusken raiders alone though 
Wait...I just thought of something...there would probably be certain factions that this rule wouldn't apply to...because Tusken Raiders putting a price on someone's head would just be stupid 
But another option for player bounties is where a player fails certain missions...maybe aborting a mission that requires the delivery of an important item or something.
Or maybe even if a player death blows in a duel (not faction PvP, regular one on one duels), he can have a bounty put on him...or maybe if he death blows too many people in duels a bounty can be put on him
Or maybe a system could be put in the game where you need to "pay for the mess" if you duel in a public building and win. And if you refuse to pay or can't afford to pay, a bounty is put on you. Or maybe even just dueling too much in public buildings
Just some suggestions 
I just hope the system isn't stupid...an example of stupid being where you kill a worrt, and your name is posted, and the creator of the mission is "Willy the Worrt".
Though I doubt we have to be worried about worrts being able to post bounties...Womp Rats are a different story though
