Ok, there is no simple way to put this, so let's list off some facts.
Jedi was a PvP class, that being said:
  1. Jedi knew before becoming jedi that Jedi Would be hunted by BH(so PvP was "Forced" upon a profession.
  2. Jedi knew that said PvP could happen at any time
  3. This information was listed everywhere(forums, email recieved early on when jedi first existed when this information wasn't common knowledge that could be located on the forums in multiple places.

So all players knew these facts before becoming Jedi, and if they didn't they didn't pay attention to any warnings given out.

So because all players knew Jedi was a PvP class, and they still chose to become a jedi....

PvP was Never forced on Any Player. It was a consequence of the choice to become Jedi. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not that this thread is useful in any way, shape, or form, as the milk is already spilt and Jedi Bounties ain't coming back, but lets be clear about some stuff...

Jedi was not always a PvP class.

1) jedi existed in the game PRIOR to the concept of player bounties. Player bounties were added much later. Existing Jedi were grandfathered into it, even tho they had no idea it was coming when they chose to be a jedi.
2) previous to player bounties, saberTEF was very "manageable", in that you were well aware of when you were vulnerable to attack and when you weren't.
3) Knowing the details of how the visibility system works is a relatively RECENT thing. For a long, long time, visibility mechanics were unknown to player Jedi. You can't completely "opt-out" of the Jedi Bounty system if you don't know the mechanics that put you in it.

Still, just as the facts you listed originally, thats really neither here nor there. I don't really see a point to your thread. What if you conclusively prove that players were forced to PvP? Or prove they weren't? What's the difference, really? Is this the prelude to some arguement that the jedi bounty system should be reinstated, as is?

If that's your point, I strongly disagree. The Jedi Bounty system took the game to a very bad place. It pitted two unequal classes of player against each other, which genenrated lots of frustration (most players were not able to maturely deal with it). It promoted lots of hate, griefing, and exploiting on both sides of the fence. That it's been removed from the game is probably the best thing that could have happened for the Galaxies community as a whole.

QFE, and thanks for posting. I agree with you completely, removing the player bounties is probably the best thing that could have happened for the community of SWG players.

Does that about cover it? You are coming to the boards knowingly causing a negative experience for other people. You are not contributing to a otherwise healthy objection by CURRENT bounty hunters. You are trolling. You are neither helpful or supportive. CASE CLOSED

Disagreeing with a point of view is perfectly valid forum behavior. Being "helpful or supportive" does not mean agreeing with whatever opinions are voiced.

Also, be mindful of something else: this particular board is for discussing issues related to the bounty hunter profession, NOT a forum only for bounty hunter players. You are no more entitled to its use than someone who plays an entertainer.

Please don't start quoting the Free Speech Amendment now. All I am saying is that WHEN YOU POST KNOWING IT IS LIKELY TO CAUSE ARGUING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. Please go start your own string with all of YOUR supporters and I will not post there, You are contaminating the BH boards with this nonsense. The BH boards are for BH. I do not go to entertainer boards spouting off about entertainers. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME. If anyone agrees with me please acknowledge by posting. If not, I will resist the urge to argue and just choose to ignore you. Fair is Fair.

Along with the cries from those who didn't want 'forced' pvp, this is another reason it is gone. This type of attitude.

I'm actually most likely to be spending some time on one of the TC servers, I'd give you my info but it wouldn't do you any good, because you couldn't hunt me...

Then BH's who take Jedi missions shouldn't be posting, right? Because it is likely to cause arguing...

As the other poster said, these forum is for discussing the Bounty Hunter profession, it is by no means exclusive to BH's, much less exclusive to BH's who liked Jedi missions.

AFAIK, the players don't get to make up the rules of the boards...

Yeah but it might show your total disregard for players thoughts and feelings; and hopefully allow you to reevaluate your existence on these boards.
