It is amazing when people come here to brag about this sort of thing. BTW you remind me of the player on my serverwho would friendly duel another player knowing his AV-21 wasjust outside the building and he would go out of his way to run up to said AV-21 just to blow it up then he would promptly end duel. He eventually got perma banned from SWG. There were players who defended that idiots actionstoo.

Clearly you have a misconception. It was not my original intent to shoot down a jet pack. Once I found my mark flying around Theed, showing it off, well, let's just say that prompted me. A Jedi should be aware of his/her surroundings and understand that in order to be a Jedi, one must agree to being attacked at any given moment at any place. Failure to remain aware of such risks puts you in a situation of potential loss, like my mark. His thought that nothing could hurt him was what ended up causing this in the first place. Had he not been showing off in a public place, I would never have gotten the chance to shoot down his precious jet pack. People like you like to label others as griefers. You act like it is illegal to upset someone. And so you, like my Jedi mark, choose to live in a sugar coated world where people such as myself don't exist, and if we do, then it is us who is at fault, not you for letting your guard down.

Welcome to the real world, where people aren't honest and up front, especially when they're hunting you. Keep your eyes open and watch your back and this wouldn't have been a problem.

I have "identified and isolated" the problem here.

But, as I lay there incapped with Jedi slapping my face, I read in spatial as the Jedi proclaimed:

So as the incap timer wears down, I'm spamming my stims and bacta shot. I jump up, heal, KD, snare and burst run outta the scene! I made it onto my swoop and was able to retreat!

I went back later after the Tef had worn off but the Jedi was buffed, and then logged out. Never got to finish it, but it was a lot of fun taking out a jetpack, even if they can be fixed now.

Jedi have pretty much griefed the whole game so I do not feel sorry for some guy that knows he has viz getting his buddies jetpack (which is repairable) blown up. Jedi are starting to think they are invulnerable because they have all but reduced bounty hunters to a minor annoyance so its good to knock them down a little....maybe if they didn't have viz they could play with their expensive toys without risks.

What is with kids these days and labeling ever single thing they don't like as 'griefing'??? Sorry, but not everything ingame ismade of gingerbread, cookies, and lemon drops. Not everything is going to be 100% fair. If you want that go play a FPS. This is an MMO and we are bounty hunters. I am going to use every tactic to my advantage when trying to kill my mark. I will blow up swoops, BARCs, and jetpacks. I will wait until you are at half health before I jump you. I will use everything in my arsenal to give a Jedi XP Loss. Absolutely NONE of this is griefing. These are actions we can do because the developers put them ingame. If you don't like it then I suggest you wear a helmet because things won't get any easier.

Kids? Give me a break, it's griefing when the only reason why he chose that time to attack him was to make him pay 500k to get the jetpack replaced. He knew he had little tono chance and he was even proud of being able to run away.

Message Edited by Grunzer on 09-12-2005 12:12 PM

LOL So now we have to attack at certain times??? Is there a list of jedi 'approved' times?

Please show me a link....

Additionally in the first part of his post where he blew up the pack he did not say he knw he could not win....

Please post other times when jedis a not 'approved' for engagement?

I think you are griefing the BH...

You got gas? Because I think you just farted and it landed on the forums. I'm not the only MBH here who thinks this is griefing. The OP specifically posted that he didn't believe he would win. He picked this particular time to attack specifically to trash the Jetpack.

Technically he exploited the system. (That means he did not use the system as intended. As intended would be to waste the vehicle only to stop the jedi from escaping. the OP had no intention of being able to actually kill his mark. IE He exploited the system to ruin someone elses game play for no other reason that because he could.

Just FYI, That means the OP is basically a slime.

Sooner or later you boys and girls can kiss the BH/JEdi PVP goodbye. It's coming. The more that people abuse the system on both sides, the less the developers are going to want to deal with it. Eventually they'll just introduce NPC gank squads and end Player bounties all together.

Anyone who thinks it won't happen never played UO before Trammel came along. They didn't think it would happen either, but it did.

You know it is common practice to hit your marks vehicle first so that they cannot use it to run. A jedi dueling obviously has visibility, and is thereby at risk from bounty hunters. So he should know that this could happen.

Now I'm not the type to blow up a vehicle and run (though cloaked jedi have done the same to me) but if I showed up and my mark put on a jetpack I would surely blast it. I'd be foolish not to.

It's not that hard to repair either. It's about 20 minutes in space collecting some asteroid ore and taking it to an artisan. I had to do it when I lost my Barc. I didn't whine about it when a jedi cloaked, ran, returned, waited for me to try and leave and took out my Barc then ran again. Sure it's partially my fault and it was easily fixed. Did the jedi brag? Probably. It goes with the territory and is certainly not griefing. Is it griefing when a jedi cloaks and taunts you? Is it griefing when a jedi cloaks and keeps uncloaking then recloaking and knocking you down? Not really because you chose to attack a jedi and you know in this system it's possible. Did the Jedi brag? Probably.

The clear difference here is that you are doing itin order to kill your mark, whereas the OP was doing it knowing he would lose, but as he himself said. "It was worth it."It=Being Incapped and then running away like a Beotch.

The deal is that the OP really has nothing to be proud of here. He shot up a jet-pack knowing that he couldn't handle the Jedi (and didn't, I might add.) Then he ran away. I see absolutely nothing for anyone to be proud of. And I have no clue exactly what he expected to gain by "bragging" about being a griefer and a wuss of a BH on top of it.

If You've seen any of my posts you should know that I'm all for a BH doing whatever it takes to kill his mark, but the OPclearly decided that griefing another player would be more fun to him than actually waiting until such a time as he was ABLE to actually kill his mark, but the OP strongly implied in his original message that he knew he didn't have a chance because the Jedi was buffed and undamaged.

Anyone who would do this is simply Pathetic. There may not be much of a line between griefing and playing the game as intended, but there IS a line, and the OP crossed it, and the fact that several players have come to the OP's defense tells me that they are just as pathetic and sad as the OP is.

Mixing apples and oranges here Nate. The OP said he purposly waited to the opportune time to blow up a Jet pack. This was not a BH tactic used to take out a ride that could wisk a player away. The intent was clear and that intent was to inflict monetary damage. AKA GRIEF.

The Jedi cloaking and coming back at you to take out your bikescould be considered griefing...or they could be preventing you from following them as you still had a tef on them. That is a bit of a grey area. The OP comments are not grey. It could not be any clearer. After all it is not like we are interpreting the Bible here...
