@TA: Cone specials aren't really suicide in low - mid level PvE when wearing armor. There are even players on my server who suggest to grind ranged professions with /pointblankarea1 since novice marksman...

There are also situations in which amelee tankscreatures with area hits. No ranged fighter will get any aggro then.

I agree, but caution must be given with advice for Cone Effect Specials

Shoot, I started a new toon on TC, got some 80% Kin Comp, buffs, decent ranged weaps and did just fine on Endor doing Marksman.....quite a joke really.....just a bit more time consuming than the Blue Frogs

The one negative to Cone Effect Specials without a tank, it is NOT AoE but a 30 degree angle.....so once the critters get near you, you will be hitting just one of them....

You're right, for me it'sa bitannoying to see meele's with dozens of mobs around themhitting allof them at once.

Anyway, i do well when i run away using a cone specialandusing some actionshots (posture change) or chargeshot2's (kd) in between... almost all the mobs get hit when i hunt them in this way... /burstrun is nice too to hit all the mobs.

Wow, just one box, not even one tree.....even the FAQ doesn't address this.....

First thing is to get an Enhanced E11 and DH17 (regular or short) that are Speed Sliced. Then get some Speed PU's so you can increase your DPS.

After that, well 1000 or 0100 is your best bet as you will use FullAutoSingle2 and LegShot2 for Specials.

BTW, I hope you are not fighting more than the occasional Chuba.....

If you really only plan to get one box, i'd recommand 0001. The knockdown is awesome... especially against humanoid targets.

But since xxxX takes combat exp, i guess you'll need tolevel a bit to get it...

There are also information about what skills to get when you have a limited number of skillpoints available, check it out.

Arg, damn... just figured it out while i wanted to comment your reply.

Well, i'd still recommand 0001... I haven't used /fullautoarea1 often, but i'm pretty sure it's a very useful special (like /fullautoarea2 is)...it dizzy/blind/stuns a cone of targets which is great in groups... even in group pvp you couldbe quite effective with this special.

You won't really realize the+5 speed or +5 accuracy from 1xxx or x1xx (and legshot3 is the same as legshot2), but you will realize the possibility to dizzy/stun/blind a whole group of enemys.

I am currently a novice carbineer and finaly got the xp required to get my first box, since my character is mostly a crafter i was planing on just taking 1 box into carbineer. What would be your recomendations for me since i dont do pvp at all unless i have to, and I PvE more regularly. i currently got a laser carbine with damage 108-395, 3.8 speed

Feomatar,

This leads me to believe no PvP and using Cone Effect Specials without a full combat template is suicide in PvE.....

But honestly, only one box in Carbineer with no other combat profs....might as well use the Carbine as a blunt object, not a gun, as it will probably kill things quicker....

IMO, Master Carbineer is gimped without some SEA or template help so only one box is suicide....

wow never would of thought thiswould bring that many flames. ok i could posiibly get more skill points by droping some scout boxes, im 3/0/4/0 in scout i could drop the 3/x/x/x to get more skil points. If i do that i would have more points to work with, is there a certine tree or teir of boxes i should concentrate on?

Seems to me even with MDE you can get 3402 Carbineer with Novice Medic, which is good enough if you can get some decent Carbines under 2.0 Speed.

Actually after further review, 1000 Scout is all you need for TN, so go 4412 Carbineer

Strange that nobody suggested 0010 yet. Burst Shot 1 might not have fancy stats to it, but for me (just working myself up as carbineer) it seems to be a very nice way to hit and hurt the target while not depleting my HAM-bar too much.
