Thread: Charge shot or underhand shot?
I was never a hater of the animation, however I have noticed something useful about it. If you're apt to PvP, and you get rooted at 65m by a rifleman/smuggler or rifleman/pistoleer you can fire a charge shot and just hold back on your movement key and it will let you run 5m backwards, fire the shot and then be out of their range so they can't drill you with the T21 or the laser rifle. Our DXR6 is nice to have but it just doesn't pack the same punch as those rifles.
My 2 cr.
according to a friend of mine they were on 2 seperate timers, but i think its a myth, when hunting with other bhs vs a jedi it seems like the kd timer is the same always, i could be wrong
charge shot does incredible damage, a friend of mine used charge shot on a jedi with his 1200 dmg carbine and did a 1k dmg charge shot on him
my underhand shot doesn't hit for nearly as much

Underhand Shot however, is very flexible. You can use it in any position while Charge Shot requires the firer to be standing.
A true Carbineer would have no problems in using Charge Shot all the time for the KD attack.

Absolutely true. A Rifleman finds himself in the prone position very often. Charge Shot is useless to him most of the time.
Both are very good specials, with their own pros and cons, and I like boht, thanks for the "breal root charge shot trick didn't know that.
P.S. I hate when someone uses charge shot on me too, it's like urggggggh! The animation does let you know what is going on and prepare in PvP, while the underhand shot animation is ahrder to see. Charge shot can break roots though...it really depends on the situation.
