Thread: LD killing!!!!

A long time ago, it used to be that once you went LD, you were unattackable. Lots of people exploited this by running away from the enemy and pulling out their modem cable when they were going to lose, thus allowing them to escape death. Having people be attackable while LD is worse than making them unattackable.
I've only had one LD kill. It was strange -- he was trying to run away using FR, and I KDed and Snared him. When I got him to the last bit of his health, he went LD right there on the ground. I guess he lost connection right at the end of the fight. Sucks for him, but I wouldn't pull out.
I remeber that, perhaps a 30secon-1min*(amount is debatable) after you ld to not be attackable.
I've been load killed b4, haven't been ld killed in over a year and they're the worst deaths ever. Even if you sneak up/suprise or db while they were incapped at least they had the chance to do something about it.
As for killing LD, i can understand it especially if you tracked your mark for hours.

To the Devs: is there a way to fix this?
Yes there is. He could have used the /logout command instead of just disconnecing and would have disappeared immediately. Further he could have loged out in a safehouse like all others do.
not 100% true i did /logout and when i loged back on i was in cloner with -XP

LOL. I'm the bounty hunter the original poster is talking about. He is totally mischaracterizing me. I like my picture better.
Some facts about this Jedi and this kill:
(1) I spent45 minutestrying to find a Jedi to hunt who wasn't locked inside of a private structure. Everytime I track down a mark I get buffed. Each time I pay 10k. So I paid 10k numerous times, expended numerous arakyds, and travelled across numerous planets before I finally got a mission on a mark who was accessible.
(2) After I spent 45 minutes finding a good mission, I travelled to Dathomir and spent another 10 minutes riding my bike from the starport to the Imperial Prison tracking this guy down.
(3) Contrary to the characterization that I "waited" for him to LD, I did no such thing. As soon as my targetting macro targetted him and I was in range I jumped off my BARC and unloaded. I did not know he was LD. I don't pay attention to titles or whatnot floating above or below people's names. After a few hits I realized he was LD but didn't care considering all these circumstances.
(4) This Jedi I killed, Zartan, is one of the server's most trash-talkingest, most disrespectful Jedi. I personally had fought him before and lost. He was the most ungracious, disrespectful, undeservingwinner I've ever lost to. He continued to trash talk and all that jazz even after the fight was over.
SO, considering I wasted one hour of my life just to find a Jedi who wasn't a housesitter, combined with the fact that this jedi is a complete a**hat, does anyone really think I should've stopped attacking him and let him off free as a bird as he, for all I knew, logged off for the night but was too lazy to use the /logout command?
I think not.

1st Off. Maura is mad because i banned her from my city for killing a guildmate at the time ( Profesor). She told me if i didnt remove the ban " i will not stop hunting your jedi", I dont know who the noob think she is, she cant just think i would b afraid of her noobish ways. I lost the power in my house, i dont run from any fights, ask around, she was no where near me when it happened, she just has it in for me for 1) banning her, 2) Beating her 3 times when she came for me. i'd say she was followin me at least 30 mins, when she saw i was LD she came in for the kill. Its my Fault i lost the power in my house, she knows better than any1 else that she is no match, Just her tactic is try & get them AFK or whenever she thinks she can get the advantage. She cannot & will not fight any jedi, new or old straight up. Everyone on Starsider knows she is a healing BH, her weapons dont do any dmg, she is an ez 20 pvp rating plus everytime she comes for jedi that arent AFK or know she is coming, Maura Dont make up any stories, i trash talk to you, cuz you are full of yourself & i gave you the 1 way ticket to the rezzer. If you wanna threathen ppl , its fine, just know what you are getting into, Dont make excuses for not having any skills, The point is you dont ever kill a jedi, unless u have the upper hand, Everyone in Starsider knows you are a joke for a bh, Tell Whynter to give some lessons, mayb then you will get a lil respect , til then i'd say about all of your 239 kills came from afk, LD'ers, or you huntin ppl that are pvp'in. Maura i hope u still come 4 me, so i can sned u on your way, Lots oF Love, 8), /wink.
Come on. Do you know how silly you sound. You're basically saying that my strategy for killing Jedi is to wait until the power blacksout at someone's house. Ummm, I have better things to do than to wait for you to not pay your electric bill.
BTW, there are pictures of all 239 kills in my .sig. You don't have to guess how many were AFK.
Ialwysdie wrote:The problem could easily be fixed as far as a /logout or such is concerned.I play Planetside and Everquest 2 from time to time.In planetside when you basically try to normally log out depending on your location it can take 10-30 seconds for the logout to complete. During this time you cannot move or take damage or the logout cancels and you remain in the game. I can only assume but i do believe that once you do leave the playable screen your character disappears from the world. In Everquest 2 there are 2 options you can camp which will give a short period of time where just like planetside you must remain motionless and you actually and it counts down and taking damage or doing any other action cancels the process. Once the timer is done you immediately leave the game and your toon leaves the world. You do have the option to just leave without camping but they warn you that your character can remain in the world for up to 2 minutes if you fail to do so.Why can't SWG incorporate something like this? It prevents people from being able to abuse trying to logout to prevent from being killed while reassuring people that once they do leave the playable screen their character is no longer in the world.
actually, there is EXACTLY the same options in SW:G. so yes, that seems to be the best solution.
look, logging in safely has it's own section oin the game manual and a loading screen, why is it that hard to figure out?
log safely, or assume you die.
Got to love the trash talking going on.Come fight my 1.5 times stronger then you in a fair fight and lets see who wins, you healing bh how dare you heal we jedi cant.I wish I had the pull this bh has with the power company and info to your house must be one great ip tracer and right connections.I have a lot of jedi in the guild I play in and have to argue some with them about this and that, but never herd one say they should ahve made it a fair fight.I can only think of a handfull of BH that can get near my guilds jedi without them knowing, I haveseen two do it.Now im not complaining about jedi being stronger I think they should bea lot stronger but more rare,I also think BH should be able to tag team them if they were made stronger.
Ok.. I hate to ask it but... how did you get you combat tab to show the damg the gun was doing and the damg the armor was taking? I feel like a noob....![]()

Thanks again to those that have taken the time to read and respond with information, examples, or opinions.
For those that pick and choose what they will read then remember the problem is not being killed when u log out in the middle of everywhere, etc, its when something happens and you lose your connection before anything happens ending up in a death that is the problem. I agree, if your in the middle of a fight you don't know if the person is a coward and pulled the plug or if it was an honest problem so you continue. The problem is those waiting for these unfortunate happenings.
I don't care what anyone says, once you have a mark targeted you cant help but see the tag over the person. If you don't read it for messagedssuch as if you fail to land a state etc then you are a fool. I learned to watch your target as soon as I began learning combat (Twice lol). Lets see, master rifles equals cover, equals not on the map if you're lucky. Did that happen, I don't know I don't watch the map for dots because I'm not a Jedi unless I am hunting a Jedi. I do know that I never saw another player dot, even when she was right infront of me, so.... Forgive me for wandering off topic there
. If you want to kill a Jedi or certain Jedi, just say it. No need to make up excuses! Calling people noobs because of a statment you disagree with or cl under 80 is childish, immature, and just a bit full of yourself. See what you've done, you've made me act like many on the forums. This went from there is a problem that needs fixed to grow up.
THIS IS A GAME, QUIT TRYING TO RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE. HAVE FUN, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS. DON'T RUIN THIS GAME LIKE OTHERS LIKE YOU HAVE RUINED EQ.

Cry more
Seriously, if it's a GAME then don't cry, you are making too much of a fuss out of it...
And for the record - I will kill every Jedi I find (regardless of AFK / LD status) unless they are friends of mine.
