I'll base this on Radiant's economy - Your server's economy may be different, but hey - Variety is wonderful, right?
As a BH, I can go and buy a pre-made, dbl capped/sliced ranged weaponfor several million credits - Usually in the 2-5 Million range. This weapon is GUARANTEED to have the damage, sac and speed it advertises. I can actually go out and kill Krayts for their tissues, which drop plentifully and again, are always GUARANTEED to supply the damage and speed modifiers listed. I take this to one of my server's best Weaponsmiths, and he now crafts it for the same price he crafts an UNmodified version of the same weapon - At most 200k, saving me millions of Credits.
As a Jedi, I know that Pearls give the best mix of Damage, Speed and Force Cost tuning.I can buy the old Premium Pearls for around 20-25 million EACH. I need FOUR, so I can expect 80 to 100 million in costs. Now, here's the catch - I have ZERO guarantee that these Pearls will tune to decent stats. I may get lucky and get 4 good tunes out of four - But this NEVER happens. So, let's say I am still lucky, and 1 out of 4 tunes well. So, next time I only have to spend 60-75 million for Premium Pearls. Let's assume ONE good tune down the line - Final cost for JUST the Pearls in my Saber would be in the 200 to 250 Million Credit range. I must now craft my own Hilt, and I need to use specific "Best of server" resources - Fortunately, Resource deeds have driven the cost down, so with a combination of luck and wise Food intake, I potentially can do it for around 500k. HERE'S THE KICKER - Premium Pearls are no longer dropping, so I have NO chance of going and looting them myself, so I can NEVER reduce my costs as I did with my BH.
2 or 5 million (Or 200k) vs 200 - 250 MILLION credits. I do believe it is FAR easier to get a "perfect" BH weapon than it is to get a "perfect" Jedi weapon.
We aren't asking to be given a great weapon right off - We only want the CHANCE of making a good one.
And lets not go blaming SL buffs for you or any other Jedi being killed. The SL buffs are not that great, and certainly was not the one determining factor in why you or Jedi in general are getting taken out. I've already acknowledged that Jedi have been somewhat nerfed in terms of power, so no need to bring that back up, but again, SL buffs do not equal a win.
You are absolutely, 100% correct. The SL buffs do NOT make a difference for ALL possible BH templates, only a few. It's that few that make it that much closer to an "I Win" button. However, let's ALL leave SL's their new skills - I don't want to see them lose something they deserved to get no matter what.
And BH being an alpha class?? hahaha give me a break..BH's do one thing well, hunt Jedi. In terms of pure pvp, I and many other Bh's routinely get owned by strictly pvp templates..BH is not alpha. And complain all you want about snares, roots, etc...you know why? Jedi get them too buddy..In fact, they get cloak, stasis, kd, etc..all kinds of fun stuff..But BH's are "alpha"?
ALL BH templates are not "Alpha" level. Some are, because of their choice of skills. I actually believe THAT is a good thing, and helps balance the game. Personally, I don't have an "Alpha" level set of skills on either my BH or Jedi toon - I play for fun, not to be a PvP (Or Hunting) "God".
For the record however, ALL Jedi do NOT have "Cloak, Stasis, KD etc" - My Jedi has only the KD in fact. This is because the skills are set up that there are 5 disciplines - Each discipline has it's uses.. So many Jedi "Dabble" to get as many of those skills as possible. Me, I prefer a straightforward Defense/Saber/Some healing template - But I take GREAT care to not get Visibility since I know my template IS (by choice) not an "Alpha" level template.

Once more the highlighted staemen tshows your scewed viewpoint.First off the premium pearls are gone from the game.So in order to buy ONE i would spend enough to buy,at a minumum, 5-10 for a high-end bh weapons and a set of good armor.BTW how many pistols did you have to tune to get a good one?
.And to say you need milllions inCA's to compete with is also a one sided argument.You just can't seem to get past your hatred and predjudice.You tell the Jedi to suck it up,and spend some cash and then you turn around and complain about how much you need to spend on your equipment.For the cost of all of your equipment and CA's at one point a Jedi couldnt have gotten one high end LS ca.(prices have dropped now thanks to the bh getting the missions that drop Jedi ca's.Ironic huh?)
Lets say that I had to buy the pearls in my saber to make it equal to what it is now.Lets conservatively say it took me 20 premiums to make my "good saber" not the fantasy 800 dps you talk about (which can't even exist on my server) of which maybe 1% of the jedi might have. lets conservatively say I spent 5 mil per pearl.Thats 100 million.Now lets say I want to make myself a little better with some ca's.They ran from 2.5 to 3 million when they first came out.Well i want to be an above average Jedi so I bought +15 in LS speed and +15 in accuracy.Even at 1.5 mil per point thats 45 million.
Do you really want to keep comparing costs and telling people to "hike up their skirts"?
If you had hunted for pearls pre cu pre krayt boom you would understand why Jedi are angry over their damage and the fact that they can no longer get resources for their weapons.Can you say the same for your weapons components?Hell pre cu a Jedi couldnt even get his own components without a good tank.Seems kind of silly doesnt it?Not to mentio how dangerous it was since a Krayt would kill a Jedi swiftly if it got ahold of him .Of course then you had xp loss too for PvE deaths.
You bring up the 800 dps saber.Well if they can't touch you then it is as meaningless a 10 damage saber.BH can outrange them through kiting completely negating their weapon.
You need to step down from your BH world and seriously take a look around before you start flamin gpeople over things of which you have absolutley no experience.
In any event I suggest doing what I do when I encounter any of these AFK folk and they inconvienience me. I send an email to them and their guild leader explaining what they are doing and why it has inconvienced me.
It mostly doesnt work because the kind of person who AFK plays doesnt give a damn about the game play experience of other people but it makes me feel better and it does prompt a response from some who just didnt realise their behaviour was annoying.
