Pikeman is fun

. No we don't get a dizzy/kd move, but we do get ae dizzy and ae kd. It's a great feeling when you stand in the middle of a bunch of Janta's,ae dizzy them, then hit ae kd, watching them flop up and down while you spin2 themmakes up for a lot ofthe problems we have.

ive been doin pike now for about a week, and so far its cool. Ive done the other classes, with the exception of swordsman. All i can say is play what ya like. Do your friends pay your monthly 15 bucks to play? Does what your friends say really matter? If you want something to just spam to your hearts content, then do TKA. I thought it was a cool class, just gets boring, Dizzy, KD, UA3. Fencer was cool. I hated givining it up. I admit it was a holo class, but i really enjoyed it. I kept it as long as i could before dropping it to do my next class. Ive chosen to do Pike, simply cause;

1. Not that many doin it. I hate hearing "look, ANOTHER Tkm.

2. It looks cool, when dopin specials. Really lookin forward to the area attacks.

3. Dont really care how effective it is in PvP. I dont do much of it. Mostly PvE, and what my research tells me, its the king of the ring.

Just think for yourself.

i love pikeman, i love how all the specials look. pvp we not so great, but we got the "pikeman's revenge" ( if your gonna go down, why not stick some diseases on em with your ns lances, eh? :smileytongue

we are kinda on par with swordsman, since ourfaster weapons and lower specials costmake up for ouronly slightly decreased damage

Wow, Pikeman . . . . suck, not in this galaxy man!!!! I saw it in play for the first time on Dathomir while someone was soloing NS. I was instantly hooked!! We may not always be the best, but we always look the best. Not to mention our area attacks with looted lances are downright lethal to groups of damn near anything. I agree that pikeman takes more skill and forethought to play than other combat professions, but oh is it worth it. NO OTHER CLASS HAS THE STYLE AND FLASH THAT WE DO!! (well maybe Jedi, but I have a life so i won't be hologrinding anytime soon)

Why does pike need more skill to play ? I think ALL proffessions are similarily very easy to play.... just spam attacks in the right order ... nothing more nothing less ....

I'm going to point out a couple problems here.

Most of the people here saying "go Pikemen!" are operating under several erroneus (and huge) conditions:

1) They're using Looted Gear, which most of us do *not* have access to

2) They're using mixed templates, not just Pikeman

So yeah, Pikeman is great... if you've got A) enough skill points to add more melee skills to bolster it and B) enough money or a posse that can drop Nightsisters Queens.

Pikeman has it's place, but no, it's not a good fit for everybody, because, pound for pound, you have to go to extraordinary lengths to make it effective - far more than any other melee professionto get the same level of effectiveness. Pikeman requires a lot more work, *just* to get it UP to the 'normal' level of other melee professions. If that's your bag, go for it

completely agree omega. i have been a pikeman for around 3 months so i know the profession...i have all the 'best' gear including skill tapes to increase my accuracy and speed out the ying yang, high kinetic armor, looted NS DoT/Fire lances..unfortunately i cannot dabble in other professions due to other profession choices (i am a master doc, master pikeman.) as a result i get my a$$ mulched by most things that novice tka's can completely own. sure i can take down NS however it takes me 2-3 times longer then anyone else.

anyone who says pikeman is amazing usually dabbles in TKA, that *completely* changes the scenario.

It is quite awesome when/if you get your hands on those looted weapons though.

But you will spend millions to buy them.

Unless you are one of the rare rare rare rare people who happen to find them.

I've been reading through the SL forums and in every post it turns into "My toon got suspended for spamming!" I find it hard to believe that a CSR or really anyone with the power would suspend/revoke an account for playing a squad leader forany reason other thanlegitimate. I'd feel invigorated to come across a fight seeing yells of "Form up maggots!", than the normal afk "Selling orkydorks and thingamabobs at waypoint 23049, -29344 just 1k north of bumfudge!" It's a change of scenery. I'm begging you guys to come back to the world of Squad Leader! Don't spam your macros maliciously and you won't get in trouble and if a CSR asks you to not spam so often...well don't spam so often! See you on the battle field!

Other than once your on your back alot of people cant get up or heal like a jedi can whats really changed? Kash isnt really much safer just hit tab as you go and hope your lucky like before. As for as non kash players its the same thing, get a mission..go to WP..hit tab and see if you want to kill him, nothing says you have to. I heard you get 3 drops then your done for 24 hours but im still getting them so dunno if thats true or not.
