I just don't like the lack of defences with the template are you speaking of. Just as a Jedi cannot move during a root, neither can you. You will miss with the root eventually and the Jedi will root you and run right up to you, taking away your accuracy even more. Then he/she will filet you alive. Happens to me occasionally, but you gotta take the losses with the wins.


If they hit you you have screwed up. With a 40 second mez and 65m range, you have no excuse for getting within 32m of them. Due to the mez you can use improved accuracy every time.


While I do use some of your "technique" here, I'm not a wholly unbiased subscriber to it.


I do typically KD, Root, sniper, critical, repeat... but if the jedi is a healer you are SOL on this. And BTW, I have a 1300 dmg rifle at less than 2 speed with the pup on it. My DPS is over 900 so I know it's not my "equipment" I do miss, and miss a lot against the mdefneders popping dodge food.





Also, MDef's and valor/aura dont mean squat. You can just wait till those moves wear off during the concussion, their duration is less than the duration of concuss. Its just a waste of force for them to use it lol

I play SWG because it's fun, and I hunt Jedi because it's fun. Even if this temp DOES work,what's so fun about laying on the ground 80m away and shooting a few times using very few skills? I hardly call that a fight. I call it Booooooooring.

Depends on your idea of fun. This lad obviously plays for winning and raking in the credits. Fights are just a lead up to another notch on his gun, which is fair enough. Hes not exploiting or being abusive - fair game

Hmm, I get a "has no effect" message if I use the novice smuggler concussion shot right after sniper shooting, so there is somewhat of a delay in there when using this method..unless with improved it doesn't matter..

BUT WHAT IF THE MASTER ENHANCER USES STASIS ON YOU ,WHAT THEN?? THEN HITS YOU WITH AN ARMOR BREAK SABER THROW KD FOLLOWED BY A POWER ATTACK AND HEAD HIT GUESS WHAT, YOU BE DEAD. SOME TRICKS WORK ON SOME PROFFS AND NOT ON OTHERS. THERE IS NO GUARANTEED WAY TO ALWAYS KILL ANY PROF. YOU FIGURE OUT THIS WAY AND THERE IS A COUNTER TO IT. FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

I hadn't noticed that the requirements for jedi hunting are MBH. When did that happen? Being a MBH already I hadn't really payed attention to this one.



However, I change my template again.... through grinding and not respec! Whoo hooo!

I WAS MBH, MRM and novice smuggler for the great root. After pub 19 hit, I was in a dilema since my favorite way to kill high level mobs was /concussion, /sniper, /snare, /kd - repeat. This worked VERY WELL against krayts, necrosis, DJMs, etc. As long as I had another rifleman and a Jedi healer things were pretty. I liked the fact that Jedi couldn't in fact nail Necrosis to the wall and needed non-jedi combatants to kill him.


With the new changes to the smuggler root, ie. breaking on damage this no longer works. Also with the Jedi healing defiency, it's tougher and requires better timed heals, and more stim usage. However it's still possible through the pistoleer root.


I changed to: MBH, MRM, pistoleer 4xx4. I chose that because of the pistol speed (have a sick scatter) and general speed mods you get with Pistoleer 4xxx. The xxx4 in pistoleer adds the melee/ranged defense I lost from dropping smuggler (unarmed tree in brawler) and also stopping shot.


I've hunted a few jedi with it thus far, and I am no better, no worse than I was. I can still kill up to about 150-180k jedi with little issue, but I certainly can't handle the "big boys" at 225k (unless they f-up during the fight and mis time something)


Currently, the pistoleer root doesn't break on damage, but I fear that will also be fixed along with the jedi root at the next publish date. However, I can root a jedi with "stopping shot" but it lasts only 15 seconds (not being a master). From extreme ranges of 50+ M, this is fine, as I can easily dive and do a /sniper and /snare combo. The main problem is the fact that stopping shot has a very long cool down. About 20 seconds it seems. This doesn't make it a very viable "weapon" in either PvP or PvE if used offensively, in ANY of the above scenarios.


However, I was able to use it effectively against Jedi and PvE with good timing. I often will use it if the KD/snare combo doesn't land, in order to get range back on them. But at the same time, most Jedi seeing my T-21 feel that at close range I am ineffective... I rarely use the thing other than for /sniper or to deal large damage fro a distance. Usually I was my low SAC laser rifle. It's only 40 damage less than the "big gun". Either way, they do NOT expect a 1000+ dmg scatter that has a DPS rating of over 800 at close range.


I would recommend anyone who likes pistol fighting and has MBH without pistoleer to get yourself a high damage scatter. That thing is GREAT! I can incap most jedi with it in a matter of seconds at close range. I'll be at say 1/2 health, and not heal on purpose to lure the jedi in close. Once they close to within say 20m, I root them in place, and over the next 10 seconds deal out about 5-6k dmg with combinations of kd, headshot, ciritcal hit, torso shot, etc. Only problem is that the pistoleer root allows force healing, from what I can tell. This is GREAT in PvP against non-jedi since the only people who can heal enough to keep up are the doc/cm combinations out there. The others, just fall...



I'm in now way saying that this is "the best" or "the only" template/way to do it. Just my 2 cents on what I have and do...

Ok, the master enhancer part you were talking about? What's the range on that? Uh-huh. And who starts the fight again? Uh-huh. And your armor break, saber throw, kd, power attack, head hit talk has nothing to do with what's being discussed here. Nothing. That's not keeping you in a daze-lock.
