i read that the servers will be put a strain if the speedcap is less than a second. but they were thinking of adding a damage mod for those that can hit for faster than 1s.

you need to check your Polearm speed in your skill mods, just hit ctrl + s... polearmspeed - polearmspeed x skillmod = how fast you swing... if you got over say 110 speed, you swing faster than once every second by 0.10. then there are speedpenalties on specials and blablablalba...

APAKE!!!!
I cant believe you are still a Pikeman. wow, I learned alot from you when I was on Tarq. I eventually moved to Ahzi (more stable for me) and ended up mastering commando and and now Smuggler. I have two holocrons and the first one said Pikeman. I was excited as it was my first and still favorite profession. I do know for a fact that it is the worst profession but I still love it even though it is the laughing stock of all combat professions.
I wish something would be done but that is wasting a wish.

Do we hit our speed cap for specials at Master? Are 1H Speed enhancing AAs and CAs worthless at Blademaster?

If I remember correctly, we hit our speed cap at Footwork 3 or 4, which is why at that point you want to switch to a damage sliced weapon.

fencers speed cap is at master level, +90 speed makes you want that gaffi youve been using speed sliced all this time to now be damage sliced, even though its 3.4-6 speed. at master, that gaffi is now 1.0. anything bellow 3.7 speed caps out at 1.0 when using specials. auto attack caps out at 1.0 around 3-4 like the above poster stated

I was wondering, for hitting the spd cap on specials, is it dependent on how fast the gun is itself or how fast your pistol spd mods are, i ask because i wanted to know if i could get the spd cap just by mods alone or if it is more about how fast the pistol i use actually is, any info would be helpful.

I am 99% sure It is a function of your speed mods, the gun speed, and the delay modifier on the special in question. Philosopher used to have a good link to calc it all for you, maybe Randonb has one for you now. Rule of thumb though.....without BH speed mods, you likely wont be shooting much at the cap...especially with Stopping Shot or Last Ditch.

from what I remember, anything over +79 and you will fire any gun at the cap of 1 second. thats not using specials though. I believ it isnt until you hit +95 or so that you will fire every pistol, and every special at the speed cap. I have pistol speed of like +115 or so. I can fire a 5.0 pistol just as fast as I can fire a 2.0 pistol.

My girlfriend just hit Master Pistoleer. She uses a pre-nerf FWG5 (1.8/80-273) right now. She uses three shots primarly:
Targetted Pool: Healthshot2, x3.0 dmg, 1.0 speed (capped)
Multiple Targets: FanShot, x4.0 dmg, 1.1 speed (almost capped)
PvP Random HAM: Stopping Shot, x5.0 dmg, 1.9 speed (not even close to cap)
Why? +Pistol Speed. The above is with default +74 Pistol Speed. At +76 (a +2 SEA is cheap) she hit the 1.0 cap with FanShot. At +86 speed (getting +12 pistol speed was easy) STOPPING SHOT hit the 1.0 speed cap.
She fires a x5.0 damage random HAM pool every 1.0 seconds. It's nice.
