Frankly I think the whole banning of players from a city is wrong... and never should have been put into the game... When you think about it it is the ultimate 'grief'.
Banning a player from a city is done purely to inconvenience that player and take away from their gameplay.
Think about this a second; yes, at this point in the timeline Jedi are seen to be enemies of the state and all around bad, and the Bounty Hunters are the ones that hunt the Jedi...but that doesn't mean that the Bounty Hunters are heros. To most folk in the Star Wars universe at this time, Jedi are quasi-mythological beings that many people either hate or secretly revere, but Bounty Hunters are all too real. If any profession we play could be seen to be almost as bad if not worse then Jedi is Bounty Hunter. To most they are considered the lowest of the low, hunting other people for their own benefit. Even the Empire looks down on them; "Bounty Hunters, we don't need their scum." - ESB.
And think about this; Boba Fett, most feared and respected Bounty Hunter in the galaxy...goes into a small town on Naboo...what do you think will happen? Townspeople throwing flowers at his feet? "Oh Boba...save us! Save us from the horrible Jedi menace!"...No. They would more then likely go into their house, lock their doors, hold their family close and hope that he goes away before someone gets killed. Enjoy your profession, take pride in it, but never forget, you're Bounty Hunters, and by the very nature of that profession do not expect to be popular.

Somehow, back in the stone ages of SWG, we managed to not only not have shuttleports dotted across the map of every planet, but also to get from point A to point B on foot. I think you'll survive if you have to ride your swoop 4k meters further thanyou find convenient for yourself.
I am a bounty hunter. I dont care about factionI will kill my own faction for a payout. Hell, i would pull the trigger on my own mother for a payout.
I hunt enemies of the state (as quoted above) for my own financial gain.
We are paid to handle things no one else will.
I take city bans as badges of honor, a perverbal pat on the back for the lawful collection on a posted bounty.
It is my feeling that if you city ban me for what i did thats fine, ban me for a guild tag or random reason is simply hurting local vendors. I have 3 accounts and i refuse to use one account to get goods and/or servicesfrom a city my bounty hunter is banned from. I think if anyone should be upset about bans is the crafters and merchants. They suffer from it we dont.
Back to the posted topic, i think the introduction of private shuttles or the ability to land our crafts in the open is a trival point to debate. Yes its a good idea and handy when tracking said mark but any bounty hunter worth their salt will track a mark and shuttling in that close opens you to the normal Jedi trash talk, the loss of the element of surprise and thus wasting time you could be spending hunting Jedi.

No kidding. I'm amused by the amount of BH's that pretend to be such hardass killers and then whine about a little banning.
"OMG. They're gonna waste 10 minutes of my time for taking multiple hours of time away from one of their citizens."
i pine for the days when the entire city militia could attack you if you attacked another militia member within the city limits....that was a very true-to-life in-game feature...too bad BH whining got it removed
