As a MBH-MCarb I've been able to take out knights staying at 40-50m and kite the hell out of them. If your energy resists aren't too high get yourself a PSG, they help loads. I have 6890 ener/kin RIS and a 2400 ener psg when I hunt.

No - they don't help at all. PSGs do not resist LS attacks because they are considered melee attacks. As such they are not resisted because melee attacks can't be resisted by PSGs.

advanced saber throw (master box) does slightly more damage than main saber attacks (saber head hit, leg hit, body hit) .
Really? I always got the impression that it did less.
Only reason it does more is the damage multiplier on KD is added to the saber throw when he knocks the person down. Does less dmg if it doesn't KD even if its the MLS Saber Throw.

32 m man, so you can easily stay away as a pistol user, i will ahve to stay in between 33-35, and have some pretty good energy armor. but im not too worried about it.
You can try to stay out of the range but with the long warm up for root it really is hard to stay out of a jedi's range for very long with a pistol. I can take the damage though and I almost rely on the jedi using up their action while trying to use their heavy attacks on me most of which they can only do at close range. But considering thata Jedi doesnt have a movement penalty for their weapon (not to mention a selection of snares and roots) they can and will catch up to you since its only a 3 meter difference.
One thing though we all should realize is that we can all use rifles. I open up with a rifle much of the time and hope to catch the jedi off guard. It's good to start them on the cycle of healing over and over early in the fight.
