I ment..you will never see vader doing that in game.

They said you could be a jedi eventually. On the box, there was no indication that you could become FS as soon as you make your character. AND, on the boards, the Devs said, at least 3 months for people to make it to FS. They did not lie. Whether the code for Jedis were there or not is irrelevant, since people have to go through the process of unlocking it before. Why have the code, if no one uses it?

It's silly to infer that the picture of vader means that the force is available to PCs. Vader is an NPC which of course, Players can't be.

I have left the game, it's been fun everyone.

Well, we know that Vader will go after Jedi Players. So I believe we will see it, or at least, Jedi will. Boba Fett and Mara Jade go after them as well....

That's gotta be an "oh crap" moment.... When Vader starts walking towards you, lightsaber in hand.

I don't think it would be that difficult actually. All they essentially have to do, is randomlyspawn the NPC in the Players Visual area, and make it aggressive to them. The problem is, if they can recreat the climatic tension before lightsaber fights that we see in the movie.

"You may even decide to set yourself on the path to become one of the anchent and mysterious Jedi Knights"

tell me, would a resonable group of 12 people say that there is a more than 50% chance that NOT having acess to the FSCS *the path they speak of* and NOT being given directions as to how to START down this path, at all qualify as allowing you to "descide to set yourself on the path"?

honestly think about it, what would 12 resonable people think about that?

I was in development and i'm upset that i've spent the past 300 play hours without any sort of encouragement to even indicate i was in the least on the right path.

What is it about the words "discovering" the path of the "ancient" and "mysterious" Jedi Knights that implies that it will be readily available, or easy to obtain? When I hear about mysterious treasures of ancient pharos's in Egypt on discovery channel, I dont go buy a plane ticket and expect to uncover these secrets when I step off the plane. Yes its true, you paid money to be immersed in the star wars world. Now running into a bug around every corner I believe is a legitimate gripe. But not becoming a Jedi because you are impatient, not willing to apply yourself to solving a difficult puzzle, and or not willing to put in the work because you lack the focus or are just too lazy. Well thats just character flaws. And if you interpreted that you immediately deserve to get the FSS off the back of the box, well then you need to re-evaluate your reasoning process. In a truely accurate starwars world, which you payed your money to be immersed in, the fact is you do not deserve to have access to FFS/Jedi from the start, and you do not deserve to recieve money from Sony because you mis-interpreted basic levels of advertising. So interpret this as a flame to all of you who want something for nothing. And to all of you that kick and scream because things are not handed to you with minimal effort. And to the first FSS players, and Jedi out there. You have my congrat's to a well earned achievement.

i knew what i was buying.

but the box's intent was to deceve, and the path to the path to the path isn't even stated, nor indiated if you are progressing on it.

/pickup SWGbox

nope the word DISCOVER is no ware on there in regards to jedi, than you.

it says "set yourself on the path" which 1.)indicates there's a path i can set myself on *hello, whare's the path?!* and two it says to become a JEDI.. the PATH to becoming a JEDI is when your FS char starts HIS path..

this is just a path to unlock the path to CHOOSE to put yourself on the path.

the box is intended to deceve, the box is lieing to potental customers about there chances at becoming a jedi, THE BOX IS FULL OF LIES ABOUT JEDI JUST LIKE THE DEVS.

that having been said:

i like the way this FSCS is setup, i like how leet dudes have little to no chance of ever opening it, and if they ever do i can KILL THEM and have it mean something.

finaly, i love this game, and have enjoyed it ever sences i violated the NDA and got my coppy of beta 3 for free, and if you see me in the devi boards it's gonig to be defending the game. but the simple fact of the matter is that this box lies to customers and the devs are lieing to you.

if you say the box isn't lieing, then i also say that Holocron isnt' lieing.. there ARNT a million theorys.. yet.

I don't think anything like that will be in game for months.. The whole sending Mara Jade or Boba fett after a jedi is something that they might do in the future..but as of right now. That would never happen. They have a hard enough time keeping Ackbar in one place.

Whether or not the box meant to deceive, it didn't LIE. Advertising is always deceiving, anymore. "All natural" this, or having a movie star endorse that, etc.

But as long as the advertisement doesn't lie, it's okay. The fact of the matter is, they use qualifiers. You "may" "discover" "mysterious" etc. That doesn't mean you get a yellow brick road to Jedi. That means you may decide to pursue opening your FS slot, which means you'll have to "discover" the "mysterious" path to get there.

Nothing about that says LIE. In fact, that's not even that deceitful, as compared to most advertisements out there.

As for the customer service...

There's no legal case behind it. If there's bad customer service, there's bad customer service. Tough. Don't like it, don't play.

As for dramatic shifts in the game...

NOT ONLY is there a little warning on the SWG logo page EACH TIME you log in that says that the game may change, but there's again no legal case for it...you don't own SOE's code, servers, staff, etc. You pay for the software to install the game, and you pay for the use of SOE's servers and the game engine itself, which is needed in order to play the game. SOE can change the code on that engine and on your computer (through patches, which you can refuse or uninstall if you don't like) at any time they want, because they OWN that code. They can do whatever they wish to it. If it changes in a way you don't like, you aren't FORCED to play. You can quit. Uninstall that software. Be done with it.

In the end, the Court will say, "Buyer Beware." That's the stance it's taken for years regarding advertising that doesn't outright lie. (An example: A clothingmanufacturer advertises it sells pure cotton shirts. But when you get the shirt, you find out it's a cotton-polyster blend. That's false advertising. Not "you may decide" "discovering" "mysterious path.")

SOE did nothing wrong. But like every single other product out there....

BUYER BEWARE!

sorry, but they didn't qualify it properly!

you may DESCIDE. this qualfyes deside and thus puts it on YOUR shoulders, not randomnesses.

they didn't use attempt ether.

they qualifyed it wrong to cover there buts, as a matter of fact this MAY indicates a promice that you will get the option to DESCIDE such a thing.

i've never goten this, and certenly not in the month that comes with the game.

the only qualifyer they have is 'path' that can be taken to mean anything, but isubmit that if you are given the ability to desicide a path then you will be given due knowledge that you are both ON the path and MAKING PROGRESS. both things that are missing.

as such you can not DESCIDE to put yourself on that path, as there is NO PATH to follow.

i think that a joury will see that quite clearly as well.

"You may even decide to set yourself on the path to become one of the ancient and mysterious Jedi Knights."

That is the quote, correct? I thought it said something about discovering. Excuse me.

Argument still stands.

Most people reading this forum have decided to set themselves on the path to becoming a Jedi. But path is a qualifier...and in the multi-faceted eyes of a Court...a path can mean anything. The path is a checklist, as far as the game engine is concerned. The path DOES exist, and everyone has set themselves down what they perceive to be the path.

So the existance of the path is not in question.

Whether or not SOE said it was laid-out, is. You can set yourself on a path, yes, but it didn't say a "laid-out" path. It CAN mean that there's some indication of your progress, but it doesn't necessarily have to.

I really think they're planning for when people have this down to a science. And this forum invariably will be a discussion of the "path" to force-sensitive. Because we're smart people, we'll figure it out. A year fromnow, it'll be like...getting your epic. Yay, but no big deal. It'll be surviving to Jedi that'll be the accomplishment.
