Thread: Sneaking up on Jedi?????

EMT might not be your best bet. Any of the CM lines are a big flag to me, with BH/CM being the fotm. Assuming you have one line in a ranged prof, try that one or no tag at all.

My tag also says, "Emergency Technician."
I like 'Explorer' LOL

I hear a lot of people talking about sneaking up on Jedi, how is this possible. Everytime I shuttle to a city after my mark, even if he is 500m away from the shuttle port, I get /tells asking who I'm after/ who I'm hunting. I haven't even started to move towards my mark and this starts. Do jedi have people watching the shuttle ports or something.
The only time I can sneak up on a Jedi is if he is in Theed or another big city full of people.
I never have a problem sneaking up on a mark either. I have cover and patience so for me, it just takes some more time. What I do its, get the mark's planet and shuttle over via my ship, always to the same spaceport. You'd be surpirsed in a running chase that you may forget where you parked your ship.... I never leave Kaadara with my armor or title or food/buffs. I always "hunt" with nothing on but normal clothing, for all the reasons citied by above posts.
Anyway, so I shuttle into the spaceport, go outside and drive around to the other side of the city where a shuttleport is. On the way there, I drop the seeker to find out the Jedi's name. By the time I am at the shuttleport my seeker found the mark's name and his location. Then I will shuttle to a city that is close to the Jedi's location, but NEVER the city they are in.
So I shuttle to a city that is 2500m from a Jedi. Land, hop on my bike and drive off in the opposite direction from the mark's last known location. This will somewhat throw off any onlookers. I will drive around the city and then beeline towards the last known location. On the way there, I'll drop another seeker set to follow the Jedi.
Once I get to within 400m of the Jedi, I slow down and make a criss cross pattern, observe the area, and find the vector I want to attack from.
Typically I come in at them from the least likely direction which is usually the direction with no player cities from it. So if you have cities to the east and west, I come from the north.
At 300m I drop the bike and store it, re-equip my armor and run up to 200m. At 200m I will /cover and crawl the next 135m while "invisible" on the radar.
Once I'm within 65m range.... *blam* *blam* *blam*

You can only sneak up on a jedi if he is unprepared or afraid to fight you. As soon as I see a potential BH, I run right up to him.
There goes your advantage, I've closed the distance for you and if you want to attack me, I have the upper hand.
Once a jedi gets over his fear of bh's they start to use this tactic more often. I teach my guildies to do this when they are fighting bh's.
The thing is that you are so used to seeing us run FROM you, that when we runTO you, many of you panic and make mistakes. Or drop the mission. (Lol I'll keep your name(s) to myself.)

And depending on a jedi's template even if you get a few free first shots it won't change the outcome, especially if you are MBH/MCM. The thing is if I don't debuff myself by fighting you, yourDPS is so low that you would be hard pressed to kill me. And those mind regen debuffs only work if I swing my saber.
In closing there ARE times when we are vulnerable. Surely everyone has these, but if you have a plan in place you can't be unprepared.
Case in point: If I'm fighting a high level MOB (krayt or something else) I'm going to let it kill me when I see you coming and i determine I am at a disadvantage... or if I notice you hitting me in the combat log :-p cover FTL. I'll lose PVP rating and you'll lose your time. But who really wins? Me. Nothing on me decays and I don't have to fight you. When I fight its on my terms. And if I decide to attack I'm 90% certain I can win
Jedi can overcome the first strike advantage by using their brain. Problem is many of them never had one or killed it grinding pickets...

Also, if your mark is out hunting and they have 1/2 a brain (some don't actually) They will be looking at any blue dot that comes on their radar.
Pretty much can't sneak up on anyone due to the radar, unless you are in a big city with a lot of people around, or hunting around Mining Outpost on Dant, there are always people running around there, too hard to target everyone.
This all changes with the Ranger re-vamp.
