The PCAP rule ... a PC = A Person. All those Jedi, and bounty hunters alike, aren't NPC's, they're real people, with real feelings, real reactions, and real responsabilities for their effects on others.
I'm in my late 20's, I've played with teenagers in other games (namely JK2) who thought it was fine to treat other players like their own play things, and to do and say as they pleased with them. It got to a point where my team had to try explaining to him the effect he was having on other people. His reaction was of utter rage at the thought of having to consider other people. As far as he was concerned, if you're playing anonymously through the internet there were no rules and nothing mattered.
He didn't stay very long in our team because I was the team leader, although I hope at some point he'll have been on the receiving end of the same sort of behaviour he displayed, then he might have started to understand that just because you're anonymous doesn't mean you can do as you like.

I'll agree that with any profession you have the kiddies who will act a fool and give the others a bad name. Since the CU a lot of people respecked into BH, and I'm sure a lot of them did it because they didn't want to grind it. Some of us did it because it was a better fit for what we wanted to do. I respecked into BH from Master Pistoleer for one simple reason, Damage. Master Pistoleer is too weak. I could have gone carbineer but I would have had little use for my adk'd DE-10 and Featherweight FWG5. I loved being a pistoleer and we were PROMISED fixes pre-CU, but in my opinion the devs did not deliver. I wasn't even planning on respeckingbut I did on the last day and I am glad. Bottom line, I like the fact that SWG has a lot of adults that play compared to other MMORPG's, that's one of the reasons I elected to stay POST CU. I guess all we can do is ignore the kiddies and try to make our experience a pleasant one.

if people on your server judge everybody that is one profession based on the actions of a few people that are that profession, then to be honest i really feel sorry for them.
also if you see people with these "immature names" you can always report them, there is a naming policy in place and the csr staff will change their name

First off, not a flame to your post because I do respect a well thought out post and this is important to you.
5 months ago as you stated Master BH was crap and we had a few BH's that did persevere through the hardships to become and be a Master BH. I was a master BH before player cities and mounts and so forth and know all about how long it took to become a Master BH. I also dropped Bounty Hunter to try to open the Jedi slot so I ended up mastering about 25 professions and saying its not worth it, then ground out Bounty Hunter again ( this time there was jedi and mounts but the droids didnt work ) and decided I couldnt hunt Jedi.. nothing else to do so I might as well just try to grind out the rest of the professions to get Jedi.. well I ground 5 more and opened. I leveled my Jedi up for a few months and quit the game completely for like 2 months.. came back and tried to grind the jedi up a couple of boxes so I could do the Knight trials and decided I hated it. My love from the beginning was Bounty Hunter.. so what did I do? I ground it out again and it was much quicker... my god shuttles every 1 minute , bikes it was lovely. I got to master BH and some carbines and went out hunting and quickly got my ass handed to me by any Jedi over 130K.
Now to the next part.. I decided to drop Master BH and make a hybrid Bh, I went 4xxx BH/Master Fencer/0,0,4,3 Pistoleer.. the dreaded Melee Defense stacking BH. Now I always wanted to be a ranged BH but my main goal was to destroy and kill as many jedi as I could possibly.. ranged BH before Cu was not viable to me. So I killed with this new template that all of a sudden branded me as not a "true" BH. I lived with that for a good bit and took it and moved on.
Now with the CU I respeced to Master BH/Master CM/4xxx rifles and do a decent job at killing Jedi. Now I respec'd to master because its powerful now. So in one questions does this make me one of the respec BH's that you are speaking of? I had mastered it as my first profession when I started the game the day it came out.. I mastered it again before getting Jedi.. then mastered it after Jedi to drop for the melee stack .. then respeced to master after the CU? I have actually never "instigated" any trash talk to my mark and it usually takes a lot of hate tells before I say anything back at all and when I do say something back its never" I owned you" or what not.. thats just superfluous banter that I wont partake in. So do I qualify as one of the respec BH you are talking about
Now on to my next point. If you are in war then you become the war and you gain all the values from it. 5 Months ago there were not as many Jedi in the game and it seemed to have a more mature crowd. I know when I kill a Jedi now that I usually have to put them on my ignore list as soon as I take their mission. Why? Because as soon as you go after them they will curse you, threaten you in real life call your mother names and so forth..and thats just the jedi... his friends are worse. I believe some BH's are just so sick of the hate tells it makes them more apt to call the Jedi names now in public.. there is a lot of hatred between the two professions now.. Not that I condone the smack talk as I stated earlier... but I can see where a BH would build up enough hate towards the Jedi profession to smack talk.
Next point.. Master BH's have asked for more power for a long time. We finally get that power and now that people want to be BH because of that power we seem to complain because there are too many BH's that didnt go through the grind or too many BH's that are kids. This may be true. there may be some kids out there who BH, but making statements like this is not goinng to make them stop making BH's look bad. We have an appealing profession now and a lot of people have taken a liking to it which I think is "good" the more BH's out there the less Jedi we see running around hopefully. Try taking one of the younger repsec'd BH's under your wing and teach him how to hunt or to hunt with a little more respect. Leading by example is really the only way. But who is to make rules on how a BH should act. I act in an adult manner and dont trash talk but should I try to make everyone behave like me in game? Probably not.. everyone is different and you really cant change anyone.
I guess my point is it takes all kinds and your not going to change anyone else.. try to show them how it should be done and hope for the best. But we can't ask to be one of the strongest professions.. everyone get a respec and expect people not to respec to this profession. Its a useless argument.
well , Im a respec'ed bounty hunter. why did i do this? because of the CU...before the CU, i worked my butt off to complete TKA/Master medic/Master Doc. For months I enjoyed this combo and worked on the village quests and the challenges it presented. Being able to kick caveman and nightsister butt was a lot of fun as a kung fu guy. When the CU came, a lot of our skills went poof and the new changes made things not fun... I didn't consider TKA to be the ultimate profession, but it was a heck of a lot of fun seeing my character do these moves on screen. Doc was great as well as I could rez fellow guildmates on the field and help others with there wounds and buffs. The CU put a lot of docs into retirement and so did I. When respec came, I dediced to try out ranger because I heard it was a very intresting profession. For a time it was fun, but for some reason no one needed a ranger on my server. So I respec'ed again, this time to MBH with some rifles (seems no matter the fact that I mastered TKA, Mastered DOC, mastered medic, i still didn't have enough points to master rifleman). This actually became a very intresting profession and I decided to keep it for now.
I don't see anything wrong with respec'ed BHing. Yes I know a lot of you worked hard to grind it out, but we also grinded our last professions as equally as hard as you did. Im not in it for the money, I am in it for the challenge of the hunt of the jedi. Sometimes when I see a lot of bhs around the terminals getting a mission, I ask if anyone wants to group to gang bang a high level jedi..you know what I get? no replies. but it doesn't bother me at all. I am currently playing a good role with my bh at this time using my alt to infiltrate the guild of my mark to eventually take her down. It may take weeks to complete, but once its done, my tactic would have been a very intresting one and I would have been proud to do it. Nothing like seeing a bunch of jedi scatter like roaches when someone says, ITS A BOUNTY HUNTER, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!! when wesa come for them
listen to yourself you actually hate someone you never even met over a game. you call them not even people. these are people who you have never even met in real life. that is a horrible thing to do.

Not all of us were ignorant people with master professions that could be easily converted to FOTM BH templates. Not all of us will do anything to destroy or demean jedi. Not all of us eat babies, urinate in church, and flip old ladies off. Some of us just like the profession.
Back in the day (roughly 6 months ago when I quit, before coming back), I was a Master Pikeman, 4421 Fencer, and Master Brawler (working my way to master fencer, and then on to TKM, a template I sincerely loved). However, I had also tried working up to BH in that time. The grind was long, and hearing and seeing the state of jedi back then, it didn't seem worth it to continue.
However, 5 months later (came back a month ago), I was finally able to try MBH out. And I loved it. Hunting jedi is great, not for griefing, but for finding challenging PvP. The skills that MBH gives are useful and fun to use, both in PvP and PvE. I don't ever see giving it up as an option.
Guess I'm just trying to say, I hate when people say "All these respec noobs suck, none of them have any skill" or "Respec BH's have no honor, they're just a$$hats who exploit." It puts us good respeccers into a category of people that should be jettisoned into the nearest star, and it bothers me. So please, for the sake of us good respecs, have a heart and be a little more specific
