Thanks for the feedback Jamila. I just hope that this game is saveable and the SOE is willing to listen to us. I love this game and would do anything to help it survive. i just wish that SOE held these same views, instead of worrying about how much money they will make off of players who wish to become jedi.

LOL I am very upset my friend but crying and complaining about it does nothing. And it isn't constructive either.

I have tried through every channel I know to stop the bleeding of the Jedi profession. But it appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

What perhaps bothered me most about Jedi is that the introduction of the FRS. While a great idea, it ended up embroiling the Jedi forum in endless tirades about how certain trees needed to be nerfed etc. When was the last time you ever saw a Profession forum clamoring for its own nerfs? LOL.

The situation in the Jedi forum is even worse today, given that the Developers aggregated all Jedi defenses in the Defender tree and haven't taken a real hard look at the Powers/LS problem of relative power levels.

Ok, so the main complant about my plan so far from a jedi is that it ruins jedi's main content, pvp. I know my plan is lacking in this area. Here is a idea i thought about putting in my plan, but decided not to.

In order for a jedi to gaincertainskills, they must duel a jedi of the same level: sith vs. jedi. Whoever wins the duel gains the skill and moves on; whoever loses does not lose any skills, but they cannot duel again for a couple days. A jedi only chat tab could be made to help jedi set up these duels.

However, the only problem with this plan is what you do if there is no jedi the same level as you that you can duel. You would be stuck. I thought about maybe adding dueling exp so if you beat a jedi, no matter what the level, you get dueling exp. If you get enough exp, you gained the skill. But who would want to duel a jediwho theyknow is a higher level than them?

I like your points. I will make one observation to couple them.

This game in now over two years old. Anybody feel like they are immersed between Episodes IV and V when they logon to SWG?

Does anyone else have any ideas/suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Unfortunately, the way things are trending, it would not surprise me if Jedi eventually becomes a profession attainable when you buy the game.

Look at where things are. With Group Vis ending and only 1 BH per mission basically,Jedi will attain full templates at an accelerated rate. There is no cap in sight, no apparent interest in moving Jedi to their own faction, etc. And a new FRS is likely to hit sometime soon, with everyone becoming a Knight and clamoring for rank.

Jedi aren't really 1.5x anything anymore, largely because all of the crying and complaining about how hard it was has increased numbers to the point that 75% of the population of combatants are either Jedi or on their way.

My Jedi toon is Pre pub 9. I ground 29 Professions for it. Had Saber TEF and Permadeath. Went through the system post pub 9 for most of the template with BH on me every day, and beat quite a few. Jedi then meant a heck of a lot more than it does now, both in terms of power and in terms of challenge.

Now, it is only one step away from becoming an ordinary Elite profession. And it really isn't all that great to boot, with abilities that really just mirror those of other Elites for the most part, and many not even as well.

And so people will ultimately get what they asked for. An easy profession to obtain andmaster.

There is no going back, however. No magic fixes, no elimination of the Jedi from the game, since you would basically eliminate all butBH for the most part LOL.

Mark my words. I think the future of the game from a profession standpoint is going to be the implementation of new "Alpha" professions akin to Jedi as WoW rolls their version out. Perhaps professions even harder to master than Jedi ever were just to keep players grinding and divert their attention fromthe game's lack of content. That is the only way I can think of to reduce the Jedi population.

Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door.

Uninformed, i don't understand why you aren't more upset that SOE has watered-down your profession. My hat is off to all the pre-pub9 jedi: you deserve to be a jedi. However, all these new jedi make me sick, and i'm sure they make you sick, as they are the cause of all the jedi nerfing.

If SOE ever creates an "alpha" class above BH, i will quit SWG. I have had enough of grinding.
