I am a Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer I do not expect to do well in PvP although I try now and then.
The other day I fought a combat medic twice. The first time I got killed very quick the second time I did a little better as I had buffed.
The one thing I did not like about the fight was the fact that the CM could paralyze me and then apply god knows how many effects to me and I could sit there and do nothing.
As a Smuggler/Pistoleer I found this quite frustraiting. It was like the CM had a Concusion Shot which does not brake on damage.
I really would not have a problem with CM if this paralysis broke when they started applying effects to me.
I am sure you have heard this before, however I was just curious and thought I would ask about it.
Paralyze doesn't do any damage, concussion shot does. Paralyze requires you be with 10m of your opponent and there is no way to lengthen that distance. Concussion shot can be fired from 64m with an 1184damage rifle. Concussion shot lasts longer than paralyze. All chemical states are medical and can be applied to someone under the effects of concussion shot.
Anything else?

you forgot to add that all states must also be applied while within the 10m...
not to mention the mind cost to do a full row of debuffs on an oponents...
my guess as to what happened was he slapped paralyze, then slow and snare, paralyze action regen maybe shock... a third paralyze maybe and out to 32m, at which point fire goes, then 35 and poisen....
that sound about right?
Sorry, i'm still a little upset that paralyze got an 'Anger' effect added when it wears off... understand it for the mez style shot spamers but paralyze can't be used in that method

Paralyze DOES break on damage. The CM states don't do any damage, which is why you can apply them w/o losing paralyze. Paralyze would be the most useless skill ever for a CM if you couldn't even use it to apply states, only usefull basically for running away otherwise. If they apply DOTs paralyze WILL break.

It's interesting. Paralyze is the worst mez (no damage, only 15 seconds instead of 40), but combat medics can use it to their advantage the best.
While this skill is indeed annoying, you cannot die from chain paralyzing or any such thing. If the combat medic stops paralyzing you, the "rage" will stop him from reapplying for however long (anyone know? havent gotten around to doing a quick test). You will also be safe from dots if this is the combat medic's strategy. The key is to maintain distance as a combat medic is in many ways a melee unit.

What do you mean within 10m? I need to be within 3m or I get the too far message!

Then you're getting bad lag due to your computer or you internet connection. Try turning down the graphics all the way down before a fight. More than likely this is occuring while you are chasing after someone and can't be helped too much.

I used to be a MBH/Mcarb.... now I am a MBH/MCM/0400 Carb. I am SEA capped with carb acc and carb speed as well as gen ranged acc. I have an elite carb, made with 133max dmg tissues, that is 8% dmg sliced, 3% critical and does over 1100 max dmg. When I examine myself, my speed is 107 and my acc is 260. My melee defense is 200.
When huntin jedi, is there a real advantage to going back to MCarbs? I havent had much luck with jedi hunting, and pvp has been really fun... but my first love IS jedi hunting. Any thoughts?

MCM/MBH is the way to go for jedi hunting it seems. It certainly is the most effective template. The only debate out there is weather Carbs x4xx is better than pistol xxx4 No one is debating the MCM part though.
