Traal, I appreciate your advice but the level 82 gold 32k health that I have a mission on seems to have almost total resistance to specials & DOTs. When in combat I barely am able to stick a KD or Snare or Bleed on him. When i do manage to stick a KD he gets up instantly. Snare had little effect and Bleed lasts only a few seconds. I might as well forget my other DOTs and Specials because they never stick. Do others have this problem?

I guess it's possible that this is an accuracy issue and next time I try (I still have his mission) i'll see if accuracy food makes a difference.

i watched a mcm/mbh try to take out a 33k health mark while i healed him. he was using a scatter pistol and spent about 10-15min or longer trying ot take it out. it was sad he had to run away because the things health regain is out of wack. even with me healing him the thing was tearing him apart and regaining healthfaster than he could dish it out.they are next to impossable to kill. Even if you do manage to kill one you can kiss your armor and weapongoodbye because it takes so long to bring them down.

his pistol was close to 1k max dam. anyway you shoulden't need a 5 million credit weapon for a solo mission. becausewithouta anti-decay kitany weapon you try to kill the things with gets turned into trash.

Tactics, healing support, and DPS dictate how you take down a boss mark. Engage with ALR or LLC at max range. Get the KD and bleed ticking. Whip out carbine keep popping the intimidate, blind and other states you have. Again at max range whip out pistol and do it again. Time your heals and lay low on specials. The critical time is what you do on the third KD. As a pistoleer with cm4000 I throw a dot and a critical shot. By then the damage is mitigated and their HAM is ready to poof. Unload and collect your loot. All of my weapons are krayt enhanced and sliced for critical hit and damage. I also rotate them often, keep synthsteak up and duelist stance as well. I have no problems taking these marks down. Again you can't tank these marks you have to move and gain LOS to break damage momentarily. Also I think MCM is weak against these marks because they lack accuracy.

hmmm

My template is mbh/mrifle/4000cm.

I use 7k energy tantel unslicedwith 2 ranged arms. ALR with around 350dps, nothing godlike.

I run out to 81m, /prone /cover.

Then I crawl toward the target til my range changes to 80. I'd guess I'm actually like 80.4m away.

I can then use conceal shot to get the mob to at least halflife before he charges.

Some mobs I can kill completely from cover.

If the mob charges, I'll snare, stand, crit shot kd then begin kiting.

I've used the same steps to kill giant and ancient krayts. Although they suck for loot and take forever and ever to kill.

Anyway, might be something for you guys to try.

*edit*

Food - Kanali Wafers + Blob Candy + Spiced tea, Synthsteak, Thundercloud.

Powerup - 30% damage/speed. Although, I think I'm gonna change to speed/sac

I use enhancers for my CM DoTs. I do have problems getting them to stick. Oh, first off... I'm only talking about the poison and the fire DoTs. I quit using my CM debuffs (like electrolyte drain, etc.) but I still try and stick the thyroid rupture.

Even with enhancers, they stick about 1 out of 3 times. On a couple occasions, I could never get fire to stick at all, and that made for a very long fight.

KD - the only time I use KD is when they AB me... sure, they get up very quickly, but I guess I'm saving myself at least 1k in damage when they land a AB. Don't have bleed, so can't vouch for the efficiency of that. Sorry.

I think you're right - it's an accuracy issue.

Hope that helps.

Hate to say it, but a 33k is (relatively) easy, especially compared to the 36k marks. The ones under 34k don't really measure up... just a warning for your friend.

Oh, yeah... forgot that. Now I know what these guys have been so tough. Someone told me once the "I win" button was labeled "Power." Guess I'll try pushing it next time I'm knee-deep in poodoo with these guys.

There seems to be a few different flavors of boss marks. I have had some that did very little damage but still had great regen. I have also had the kind that hit hard and regen fast.

One thing that saved me on the hard hitting ones was to put my back up against a creature lair. The boss marks often use area attacks and wind up agroing the creatures near me. The creaturesthen ack as tanks.

Hey, a blue name!

/wave

I've used this tactic a couple times. Once the guy aggroed about 8 lvl 50 mobs, but brushed them off like they were nothing... of course, he didn't even mess with them until after he pounded my corpse into mush

This is a really good point, too... naturally you'll want to use every trick in the book against these beasts. Bringing in NPC back-up is fair game in my book!
