Ive personally always thought that the Radar was a Bounty Hunters biggest obstacle. When I think of Hunting a mark, the first thing that comes to mind is the word Stalking. Its a little hard to "Stalk" a target when the can expand thier radar to over 1000 meters, and see every living thing within thier Radar's limits.

Even if the Bounty Hunter waits untill his mark has entered a Non-Player city, and decides to go to that city in the hopes of "Blending In", the Bounty hunter can still be noticed. Since NPC's are of a different color dot than Players, the Bounty Hunter can still stand out on radar. Especially if that particular NPC city doesnt have many PlayersCharactersin it, the BH will stand out like a sore thumb. And with the /duel thing going on, the BH's chance for Stalking is shot out the window.

i like this ability. I have had jedi /tell me "Go home n00b i can see you on radar". and theres absolutley nothing i could have done cause i was still way out of range. Takeing us off radar but keeping us fully visible would be very cool.

The ranger 'cloak' would probably take too many skillpoints to get for the majority of us. I love cover, i have like +11 crawl tapes and a +17 bando, add some delicious travel biscuits andI scoot. It's hard on some planets with their huge animal spawns that seem to always run right to me, but oh well, happens that way. Sometimes the lions scare a warthog and alert the zebras. Some of my best times came when that one random person manages to drive right over me while im 25 meters from a group with my mark in it; nothing like seeing a bunch of duel invites and cloaks to make me at least feel satisfied about the time i had to spend on my belly lol. I still say remove radar, just makes no sense. That radar has ruined many a bh's mission im sure. I havent tried anything but rifle/bh with the cm4, but i cant see how anyone other than a mcm can run up to a mark and start blasting, that radar just gives too much advanced warning to get them ready. Anyways, sorry to ramble, a way to get rid of that annoying radar even for a few minutes would be great, but what would we have to give up in order to get it is my problem.

Jedi can get cloak but then they cant be the FOTM MLS/MDef template - they have to give something to get cloak - we have to give something to get cover, same thing.

It's the old rock, paper, scissors thing again. With the flexibility we have in making templates it is actually possible to be Master Rock and Master Paper, if we could just buy an item to make us scissors as well that would be game breaking.

sorry, but /cover just doesn't seem to add up to cloak, IMO, unless you have a lot of rifle crawl speed tapes, if that's even a stat that's still around. You crawl sssssssoooooooooo slowly that you'd never be able to track them with it efficiently

I had +25 rifle crawl speed shirt, that was still in condidtion. After a patch, it just stopped working. Not sure which one, or when it happened. I went through a stint where I wasn't hunting Jedi all that much, so I wasn't crawling around. But I noticed it when I went to use it... let me tell you that!

Terrain Negotiation boosts crawl speed. We all got it in our template, I use a TN modded shirt and bandolier, have TN tapes in gloves and boots and eat Travel Biscuits. I dont however go chasing my marks halfway across Dant, I prefer to let them come to me And /cover is perfect to give you the alpha strike

So more like the "Stealth Field Generator" in KOTOR then. I think it's got merit. Could be useful for avoiding those pesky battle droids in the vette and in the DWB also.

Hello, loot whoring?!

It's interesting you mention this, because that exact thought occurred to me when I ready the following, from the thread Grant McDaniel - Producer: Letter to the Community Part II, in the In-Live forum:

7.If the game is set after Episode IV, why is the expansion based around Episode III?

Good question. Although Mustafar is featured prominently at the end of Episode III, the content we created for the Trials of Obi-Wan is most definitely occurring during the time period after Episode IV which is still consistent with Star Wars fiction. Obi-Wan appears in his Jedi spirit form, rather than as a live character and is motivated to return for some very specific reasons. You will notice that even some of the Mustafarian planet has evolved from where it was in the time period of the movie, for instance, the Mining Facility where Anakin and Obi-Wan fought is not in it's original state and is in fact significantly deteriorated. You’ll notice that some of the content does reference Old Republic technology, but this technology pre-dates even the Clone Wars and Episode III and is a recognized part of Star Wars canon. The Old Republic had been around for a very, very long time and has a continued presence throughout Star Wars mythology.

Thanks for your time. As always, I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Is it possible the stealth generators, or the schematic and partsfor one, might actually be quest rewards and/or lootable items, ala the jet pack from the DWB? If so, that would be very cool indeed, because then it opens the possiblity for stealth to everyone, from the Bounty Hunter stalking their prey to the crafter out checking harvesters on some dangerous planet.

This, in addition to the forthcoming Ranger stealth, might be why the devs are putting Jedi cloak in the same set of "stealth rules" (so-to-speak) as other such skills.

Can you imagine what a stealth generator might go for on the auction forum?

I just want to mention how much cover sucks.

They can see you

You're prone .....

To move you have to crawl. Crawl much? Its not fun

Can't see target.

Can't cover cause something sees you but there's nothing within 512km

Common. The range is 20m on /cover. However if you have a droid out, or a bike out, you can't cover. The droid must be in your group work. The crawling bit is horrible, I'll admit, but I'd rather crawl for a few min and get the suprise than not. Rifle crawl speed and TN tapes don't seem to be helping anymore. They stopped working a few patches ago with no explanation that I saw.

To the one above this about the Stealth Shield Gens.... that would be a good time to introduce them into the game, if they had plans to. Apparently HK-1 is going to be part of the game and "he" is from the KOTOR era, as with Stealth Shield Gens. If they were to add them, I'm guessing the would be a radar/map only feature and not a cloak since in KOTOR they didn't cloak the player from other sentients, only from droids and screening devices.

Great idea though, would LOVE to have one of those.

"cover" is not as effective as cloak; its laughable that you even mantion the two in the same sentence.... have you ever used it?
=========================================================================

I used it. Good enough to get close to your mark at rifle range. This is just a bunch of people asking for more power like everybody else.
