Thread: Pub 21 Boss mark info from TC
Just to clarify. My boss mark was using a carbine, but I think it's random. So far I've only had one boss, with 2 golden chevrons and 30 k-ish health, spawn; but I've had several marks with silver chevrons and 18 k-ish health spawn and these marks have all used different weapons. One of them first attacked me with a vibro lance and then changed to a laser carbine when I tried to kite him. Another one used a striker pistol...
I think an elite boss mark with 30 k-ish health using a rifle would be VERY hard to kill!

I have no idea, sorry...

I am a MBH, MCM and rifle 4000 on TC. My mark was using a carbine and I was obviously using a rifle. I was able to kite the mark with snares and knockdowns pretty well. I also had him stated all the time and had fire, poison and bleed dots going all the time. Together with MCMs awesome heals I managed to beat him. Although it was a really tough fight. I'm not sure I would have been able to beat him with my toon on live (MBH, MC, pistol 0003 and master marksman). Perhaps if I was using ranged cyber arms and/or a rifle...

im really not trying to sound cocky here but level 82 with 30k ham doesn't really sound too hard, solo or not. with a little CM and duelist macro running you should be able to take 2 or 3 of these at once. damn 2 NS stalkers at 84 can be handled with ease in a similar way. be nice if some of these elite mobs are really elite - 85/86 40k ham - or like that beast at the end of the ryatt trails - possible....just solo with a non-jedi.
Yeah but dont forget soloing a ranged mob and a mellee mob are 2 totally different things anything that is melee is easy to solo due to roots/snares however this is not the case with ranged.
QFE
dont know what the issue is - i can stand and tank two NS stalkers with NO ROOT and NO SNARES - i heal, use good foods and have some very top end equipment. emphasis on the HEALING - check out CM4xxx if you don't beleive me
How can you precisely choose a Elite Mark on the BH Terminals ?
Special Payout for Elite Mark or allwaysa fixedprice ?

Random... If we knew the elite marks, why would we hunt anything else? It would be like Bol group missions on Dant - Refreshing the term until you found an elite.

Sweet, looks like the Jedi is getting shelved for a bit.
Dont you guys see whats happening? The developers are hoping this new content makes us BHs stop hunting players. They dont want to take the player missions away outright because they do not want to anger anymore players. But what will happen later on down the line when the people come back and start playing this game they are going to take the Player missions out all together.
I like the new loot and bounties. But hunting an NPC poses no challenge and unlike hunting player Jedi there is no thrill to the hunt.
Chasing a player Jedi across 3 planets over the course of a week is the way BH missions should be. I like to pull one mission and wait for my mark to play. I would love the oppurtunity to try and get this guy no matter what it takes. 3 days and poof. Silly I tell you. Players sometimes dont play for a week.
They are purposely making player missions unfun to get everyone to stop doing it.

This message expresses the opinion of the author. It was not designed to put down the developers hard work in making SWG a great game. Just questioning the decision making and intentions of those in charge when it comes to making drastic changes.

That's awesome that the mark switched up weapons. That's good AI. It would be cool if they could heal too. Rifle wielding elite boss marks would be hard to kill. Time to use every tool available.
Actually, it is poor AI.
The NPCs were suppose to be given "pure" professions (ie Master Rifleman) andnot just switch between Rifle, Carbine, Pistol and Melee depending on the distance you are from them.
The "goal" of the CU was that you would be able to "size up" you opponent (PvE)and go into combat using tactics for that. Snare the Meleer, root theranged if you were melee, use your Range to your advantage. The problem is that they are mixing templates and weapons. Carbineers using Pistoleer specials and such and switch between what ever weapon they want all with the same stats. Perhaps they scraped that idea when they droped the min range on Carbines and Rifles, but an NPC that changes weapons based on a set "distance formula" is not really thatgood ofanAI.
I think they are trying to get there, which is why you are some Faction NPCs with Commando Titles using Flame shots and Faction NPCs with Rifleman Titles and such, but they have a lot of work to do to get there!
