Yeah I have to say I am a bit excited about this. Not only do the high level marks drop some decient items, but will put up a fight.

Yeah and it seems that it didn't really improve us against Jedi, but it they are dropping some decent items that can make us a bit tougher.

The MAS in my guild already knows that when the next pub that comes out he will be making me some BH armor cause I asked him already.

My one question so far to all those on TC, what is the best Pistol that you have seen? I remember reading someone got a max 1200 Dam Carbine. Would love to see the best pistol anyone got, or just send me a private message if need be. Thanks.

im really not trying to sound cocky here but level 82 with 30k ham doesn't really sound too hard, solo or not. with a little CM and duelist macro running you should be able to take 2 or 3 of these at once. damn 2 NS stalkers at 84 can be handled with ease in a similar way. be nice if some of these elite mobs are really elite - 85/86 40k ham - or like that beast at the end of the ryatt trails - possible....just solo with a non-jedi.

Yeah but dont forget soloing a ranged mob and a mellee mob are 2 totally different things anything that is melee is easy to solo due to roots/snares however this is not the case with ranged.

So when is this going live? I'm getting really bored with this game right now and need something new to do!

So, when you pull up the missions.... are these type of mobs marked differently than others on the term or is it luck of the draw that you get one like this?

I like the sound of this, and the loot doesn't hurt either compared to a scrap here and there and some chump change for killing the mark on NPC missions.

Sounds like a lot of fun. An no worry that the mark will run or cloak all day like 99.9% of the Jedi players do.

Look forward to this coming to Live.

do you know if you have to be MBH to take the elite missions? i was thinking about dropping MBH MCM for MPistols, MCM, BH4xxx for a bit of a change but if the elite mission are MBH only then I'll stay as I am

I have no idea, sorry...

I am a MBH, MCM and rifle 4000 on TC. My mark was using a carbine and I was obviously using a rifle. I was able to kite the mark with snares and knockdowns pretty well. I also had him stated all the time and had fire, poison and bleed dots going all the time. Together with MCMs awesome heals I managed to beat him. Although it was a really tough fight. I'm not sure I would have been able to beat him with my toon on live (MBH, MC, pistol 0003 and master marksman). Perhaps if I was using ranged cyber arms and/or a rifle...

VERY nice, and hmm about your xp since it's alot higher than usual, did the devs up the XP gained so that split xp won't be so low in a full group?

TC is on double XP still.

Why must it always be a conspiracy theory? It is as simple as I was working on BH/Jedi missions and ran a few NPC missions and went "Wow, these are lame, Why would anyone want to do these?" So I came into work over a weekend and made some new challenging Marks, created some new loot, and re-itemized.

It was as simple as something was lame, I thought I could make it better, andfixed it up in my freetime.

Not everyone is about the PvP game, and even those that are like a bit of respite from it every now and then. Plus withnice new loot on there, who wouldn't want to kill some Marks?

Blixtev,

I am a fairly vocal critic of SoE and their over attention to Jedi, but I do applaud you for this work on the NPCs. I don't care how they relate to the Jedi missions at this point in time because I've given up on them. So it is nice to once again be able to run some fun NPC missions that are challenging!

I like what I am reading about the BOSS Marks with 30k HAMs that are on the TC now, that sounds GREAT! Right now on Live even the Level 84 marks are a little to easy, but MUCH better then the old ones and I have found myself playing more just to run these missions.

Fixing the BH/ Jedi (or Jedi issue in general) is not going to happen over night (if it can ever be "fixed") so I really do appreciate your effort to spend time (your free time none the less) in improving an aspect of the profession that has been LONG over looked.

I think your concept to link Loots and BH Armor and other cool things to these "Boss" NPCs is a great concept and contrary to what some are saying, boring and easy NPC missions at the Master Level have ALWAYS been an issue with me and Tanks has been making this point to past few months, so THANK YOU!

I'm MBH/MRM/CM4000 I also use a combat droid to help a little against high end npc's. I can solo level 85 Night sisters fairly easy. How well do you think i'll hold up against these new boss marks?

Well, I am not the one that posted it, but I thought he said that the Marks were Carbineers. So you can exploit the 65 - 50 range to your advantage. Use your Snare (not very affective verse NPCs) to give you some help and land a lot of KDs and Mezzs and you should do fine.

Nightsisters are not a valid comparision because they fight Melee and thus easier to defeat. With your CM you should be able to heal enough to keep up, use your LOS to your advantage and your MEZ to buy time. Pretty much fight it like you would a Jedi mission!

This looks great. One of the biggest things BH needed was improved NPC missions, content other then Jedi. This will add a nice change of pace. Now if we could get these marks to inhabit cities, cantinas, plazas, etc. instead of some field or forest out in timbuktu. Overall I like the direction they are going with MBH, hopefully they will share the love with some of the profs out there that really need it.

Just to clarify. My boss mark was using a carbine, but I think it's random. So far I've only had one boss, with 2 golden chevrons and 30 k-ish health, spawn; but I've had several marks with silver chevrons and 18 k-ish health spawn and these marks have all used different weapons. One of them first attacked me with a vibro lance and then changed to a laser carbine when I tried to kite him. Another one used a striker pistol...

I think an elite boss mark with 30 k-ish health using a rifle would be VERY hard to kill!

The marks are given random skillsets. Some will knock you down every 30 seconds with charge shot. Others will use smuggler skills on you (haven't been slaughtered by a 30k health mob using last ditch yet, fortunately) or pistoleer, or rifleman. It's the luck of the draw, just like in the old days when we hoped advanced strafe for 5000+ damage wasn't coming...

I don't have combat medic in my template so some of these boss marks are a really tough fight, and I wouldn't want it any other way. However, I'm not sure how you would beat some of the bosses that use ranged attacks if you have no medic in your template. One of these marks gave me an 8 minute long fight the other day that had me healing so much I had almost used my whole mind pool. I wasn't using any foods so I had kind of gimped myself from the beginning, but the fight was very fun and challenging.
