Can also be devastating in the other direction if you didn't realize that Nightsister was within 64 meters, but that's another story

This move quite simply is an experience gaining wonder now that it has a cone effect. Last night I was in a group with myself and 4 other people. Three of them had some form of CH ability and 2 of them Medic ability. We engaged an Enraged Bull Rancor Lair. With the pets in there I was hitting each of the creatures for between 600 to 900 damage per fanshot with my DX2(100-150 damage). By the time we finished off all the creatures and the lair 15 minutes after we started, I had accumulated 100k pistol xp.

Not bad at all

But you do have to be careful because you can aggro things you don't want in the fight, and as posted, its not as effective in PvP where the players tend to not cluster around as much.

Is fan shot bugged to hell or is it just me? I was fighting some pikets on dant the other night with a couple klikink defnders, and all of a suden my gun started firing on some monkks close by and well the kliks arnt that good just had em out for xp and well they went down and I ran with like 5 mokks on me. So was wondering if this happens to anyone else?

Yea always check your radar before using fanshot,.. i have made a habit of placing myself between the lair at my back and the targets in front of me...posistion is key to using this special effectivly.. you can also tab and have mutible targets highlited at the same time.

Yes, Fan Shot is a Area of Effect Shot (AoE) and will hit anything in it's firing field. Which is roughly30 degree's wide and out to your Guns Max Range.

You have to do some planning before Spamming it.. As you can get yourself in Trouble fast.

It's a cone attack, it will attack anything within a cone in front of your pistol.

Yeah, you have to be careful with that attack. It can also perform an unintended tap of a lair, which really makes things interesting. You have to check the radar and make sure there is nothing in your area of effect that you don't want to hit.

I had thought it would only hit targets you aggro'd. I would bleed each target than then fanshot. But there have been times where other things get hit.

yeah ive noticed it does very little damage to anything other then what your targeting to

Just got Fan shot because we all know AE killing is the best way to grind. Come to find it its bugged or really sucks, I pulled 10-15 mynocks onto myself and started to unload with fan shot, however it only hit 1 target the whole time. the only way I get fan shot to hit more then 1 target is if I basicly line them up in back of each other.

This the way it works? or does this style just suck?

Yeah the fan shot name is a bit misleading. It actually hit one target multiple times. For hitting more than one target you have to use Point blank area, which as we all know is pretty crap on anything other than thug mobs. Fan shot is great against larger prey though, so go find yourself some Pikets on dant or faamba's on naboo and have fun with fan shot!

Fan Shot works, but it's an AE cone effect. Meaning that only targets in your ~45° front arc are affected. Point Blank Area is a point blank circular effect, meaning that all targets in a 360° circle are affected.
