Haha!

I don't haggle. I use the same formula for all my prices. I don't go down in price but may go up if demand is there. And if they don't like it, tough. Go buy from a n00b DE who will charge you 1/10 of what it is worth. I tell them the price is the price, either buy or look elsewhere, but good luck.

Simple answer to it all is to have a brochure in your email (sent to yourself) that has all the information about droids and your prices.

If you custom-build droids, this is by far the most recommended method of doing it. It is the end of annoying educational lectures and haggling.

Well yeah I've had one of those since I started doing DE, but trust me when I say it certainly DOESN'T solve the problem. For some reason there is this minority (thank god) of people who play SWG that believe that they are the exception to the rule 100% of the time and always try and get around stuff. Very annoying.

I use an Excel spreadsheet to determine all my pricing.

I begin with an average cost of the different classes of materials (metals, ores, chemicals, gas etc). I also use a standard mark up for each stage of construction (currently using a multiplier of 1.6 = 60% mark up).

These are the only variables.

They may change as the market changes.

Next,I had to enter the resources and parts for every singleitem in DE, and the base electronic components from Master Artisan, plus components I buy from Architects and Armorsmiths. Where an item uses another item in its construction I used the AFTER MARKUP price to generate the new item's cost, and then applied the markup again to determine its price. It makes sense to apply a markup at every stage, since there are many stages to making a droid, and one could theoretically sell just parts rather than finished "usable" (*suppresses giggling*) products.

It took a lot of time, but it was worth the effort and could easily be re-applied in another crafting profession. Arguably, it was more fun than actually being a droid engineer, but that's another debate.

It is easy to extend this to place a value on your parts inventory. With a little more skill in Excel, it's not hard to make a quote generator that sums up prices for a given droid configuration (I want THIS droid with THESE components...).

Ah, but it doesn't matter. As soon as I finish my current runs of droids and use up my 8-million-credit parts inventory, I'm dropping this lousy profession.

I sell R4s with food craft and 2 lev 4 meds for 3k on bazaar. I was making them to get rid of old modules, in the hope that module quality may make a diff, come patch time. But I dont think I'd charge much more if any for a custom R4 with general crafting and 10 item storage.

I guess I'm charging low, but If i get too many customers I can allways try to frustrate the demand with higher prices.

If you are on my server, then your the only guy that seems to be competeing with me at this point. I welcome the competition.

DZ70A's with 110 med and food craft for under 3k. That's better then 5/cpu even if you figure 20 cpu for the rare stuff in the lvl 6. Archys would have wet dreams over this. In factory runs of 500 takes little time at all, which is typically the amount of time I have in one go.

Look, I didn't make the rules folks. That's just how it is.

Now you know how the local businesses feel when a Walmart comes to town.

You all have something to offer for those higher prices... Service... different market all togther.

I haven't double checked the pricing, but I'm pretty sure I could come up with a droid that has a crafting station and some item storage for 5k. I wouldn't be an R2 or R3 but it might be an R4. I could definitely sell an advanced MSE with a crafting station and a level 4 item storage module for well under 5k.

I don't see how this request is a problem. He didn't demand an R2. He just said he preferred it. Tell him the R2 costs more than that and then tell him what chassis will fall into the 5k range. What is the problem with that?

BTW followup!!!

He emailed me back after I informed him what he had done and what the consequences were (banning from all shops, cities etc). What he had to say in a nutshell:

  • I didn't know (despite the "----READ ME----" item listed)

  • You should feel happy knowing how well it is serving me

  • I can't take it back now

  • Your droid battery prices are too high... I'm shopping somewhere else.

LOL!

Well, I'm working on swordsman, and it's fun. It's great for attacking multiple enemies. But I did notice it doesn't have many mods as the others do and I miss an amazing amount of times, up to6 times in a row and I wasn't spamming the same attack.Fencer is cool, it's crazily fast and has great defense mods. In my opinion though, I don't really like the weapons. I was never a pikeman so I don't know what they're like, but it looks like they get good area attacks. Master brawler is a must have if you have the points.

I will probably be doing TK, Swordsman, Master Brawler and some scout. Though I have been looking at fencer again and it's starting to look a lot better than swordsman, and I'm mad at the scythe quest. Hope it helps, though I'm not sure what I want to do with my points...

Well with the new patch master brawler is useless. So if you want to spend all your points on brawler skills I would say TKM master Fencer Master Swordsmen off of the top of my head i think you can do all three if not i would do as much of them as you can and do none of Pikeman. I know the pikemen wil flame me now but they are a terrible fighting class. Its a shame too I would think Pikemen would be cool but the devs didnt do them any justice in this game. Let me know when a MMORPG game lets me be like Donatello of the infamous nija turtles and I'll sign up.

depends on your end-game really. You could master each in turn and drop the elites but keep the brawler parts. Then after doing them all, you're left with master brawler. I did master brawler before doing the others, and now then I do want to do the 2 I haven't done yet, I'm forced to drop the other brawler parts and re-do them to get to the elite profs because I don't have enough points with my other professions left to keep master brawler.
If you want to have them all done at some point and don't mind potentially doing extra work if yuo decide to take on an extra profession along the way, get master brawler first thing, then flip a coin for your next one.

If you only want one, flip a coin too I guess.

I've done swordsman and I can tell ya, I'm VERY happy I did it before the death-to-warcry. Without bashing away at 1x5 damage for 20 seconds, I don't know how long it would have taken.

But it's cool I guess, and I suppose it is quite good for PvE even without warcry2.

comboing with fencer will make you a power house in pvp at point blank range, whereas swordsman or pikeman will give you a little extra advantage in pve. The rest of your points, i'd drop into medic or a ranged profession. Rifleman is good for pure melee/ranged defense, and pistol will give you more status effect def, as well as let you pick up some smuggler if you choose.
