Think the Devs reply was something like that would be a cool idea, but very, very difficult to program in to the code. Frankly, would rather just get the existing stuff working
Planetside seems to have done it fairly easily. They even show the animation of you reaching for your weapon, while it is holstered. While I don't attempt to know how programming is done, I think if one MMOG can do it, then why not this one.

I don't know if Planetside's Devs are allowed to talk to SWG's Devs. Come on we wouldn't want SOE helping out SOE, would we???

The Holster point:
"It'd be so cool!"
The Holster truth:
"It's completely superflous. Fix the rest before you add unecesary flourishes."

I would love to have a holster. But I could wait for the animation of us drawing our weapon. But as a clothing item, like a belt, would be fine at the moment.
just my 2 credits....

If this was mentioned and responded to by a devalready, sorry i didnt find it. Please link if you would.
I think it would be great to have holsters for some combat classes especially pistoleer but something similar for all would be even better as a great alternative to walking around with your weapons always out or gone completley. And i think being able to see the weapon being drawn from the holster would be awesome. I guess im just a big western fan but in the star wars movies han had a holster. Feedback please.
Yes, holsters would be nice but I'd rather have our special tweaked/fixed to make us a viable, stand-alone combat class. They can add all the twirly-holster moves and dual-wielding crap after they fix us.

I don't think many people want this fluff before we actually get fixed. It doesn't hurt to talk about these things now though.
SOE seems to want to put in more content than fix what is broken, so for all we know this could be put in before they fix us.

The switch timer does make sence if your being fair, it should take time because you can to get the gun out of your pack pack as it stands right now. But many proffesions need to change weapons, so i would like to have the chance to replace my belt. They can have different onces for instance,bh would have a holster that would hold 3 guns a pistol, a carbine, and a llc or rifle. Pistoleer would have one that could hold 4 pistols, then fencers could have 3 swords like a samurai had in feudal japan (i new i would find a way to use my history ba in this game).
Now proffesions like rifleman and swordsman would get a bando, so no back pack, because they have bigger weapons. Now because bh can have a llc or rifle under this plan i live with it becoming a bando, but it's my idea so **edit** it think big right? But also another thing i wanted to bring up was why isn't their a 3 sec wait for docs and cm for the heals and piosons? This gives them another leg up on us and they were already way ahead of us. Well under this plan they would have to use a med pack that would be like a satchal so no back pack for them either. I'm not too sure how that would work right now (it's late and i'm dunk) but for one it would hold just one pack of piosons and one set of stims. Right now as it stands if a doc or cm with a combat proffesion and just hit you with a dot weapon or pioson pack and just wait you out.
This would do somthing for everyone and once you understand that the 3 sec wait does make sence giving us somthing like this is a need. Any one have a better idea? I sure some one does lets try to keep this clean because if it get banned i'm not going to remember what the hell i said.
