Thread: Anonymous Mission Testing and What I Told the Devs
All of these extra steps makes being a BH a tad less fun each time. Game mechanics, lag and other issues make targetting hard some times in the game. We should not be penalized because we dont know our targets name. This proposed change is totally stupid and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to check their head.

Solution!
Don't let the Jedi know you're after him.I know it's tough
, butthat is your responsibility and your advantage.
If they're close enough to /duel you, then you shouldalready have him or her targetted, and shouldknow what to do.
It's not a marks responsibility to make him or herself ready for you to attack them.

Ummm... friends... maybe. Guild members? Are you in a guild that allows both factions? If not, then there is no reason why you would be hunting your guild members since they are adding the Jedi's faction to the terminals.

Hooray for Tanks! Hey Tanks this issue with 100% anonymity will also cause probs for those of us on the smaller servers as well. We will be playing lottery with our friends and guild members that happen to be Jedi. So that is another reason for this change. I am rifles(cover skill) so the prob you mentioned wont effect me as much but anyone who isnt rifles is gona be screwed if these changes hit the live servers.

Why do people keep making this arguement? Bounty hunters are scum who work for themselves first and anyone else second. If they're on the terminals and I happen to hit accept, they're my target. It doesn't matter if they're rebel, imp, or jesus. Well ok, if they're jesus I'll drop it cause jesus is metal. But otherwise I don't make a distinction. They're money, and they're making themselves known to the enemy. Better they die to me, an ally, then the hands of some filthy imp.
I agree with you. But we can't make people play the game the wayyou do. The devs put the ability to choose if you want to hunt same faction or not, they aren't stopping us from doing it. My point is, this arguement is a non-issue because if you are so worried about hunting your guildmates, then you'll hunt the opposite faction instead.
If you want to hunt the same faction, you run the risk of hunting your guildies and then you are faced with more choices... do you kill them or do you drop the mission. Most people would rather go for the path with the least choices. What ever you choose, it's your choice. No one should persuade you.

Finally got on TC to test.
I got the mission and started tracking.
When I finally got to the Jedi he was fighting Giant Worts. He was alone, but I simulated regular hunting as most will be with groups and tried to target him via tabbing.
It took me several seconds to TAB over to him. The Jedi knew I was after him before I could even target him. The smart Jedi will start running way before I would be able to target him in most situations. Now, add the fact that /duel is used almost exclusively in most situations to figure out a bounty target by the Jedi, he will know before the BHs.
We really need the Jedi name at some point in the process. The devs at the "FanFest Jedi Focus Group Session" even mentioned that the BH first strike ability makes them equal to full template Jedi in power (which is a fallacy in itself). Well, it is kinda hard to have first strikeor any kind of advantage when you have to be almost on top of the Jedi to know who he is!!!
Please make the name of the Jedi available after the Arakyd probe reports the planet location. This would resolve a lot of issues and still stop the so called griefing by gank squads, targeting specific Jedi etc., etc.
tanks, with all due respect...
play your profession....you saw what happened to the unfortunate Bounty Hunter who attempted to take Han on first contact....make your pass, bide your time, and hit your mark when your ready.
yes, they may know you have theirmission, but they do not choose when you strike.
The new system doesn't make sense. Can you imaginewhat the mission infomation will be like post pub 20, Examplemission will be as followed.....
"This Jedi like appeared out of like flippin no where dude, he had like a purple lightsaber yo! He was like flippin swinging it and stuff and my girl friend was like whoa I'm going to get with him! Then the Jedi was like lets roll! Then picked her up and FR3 outta there. I'm pissed and I want you to kill him, I don't know what his name is, but he is wearing so like robes. Also I don't know how much I can pay dude, gotta check under my couch for loose change."
What BH would take this? Names are important! We still will have the element of surpise if the jedi is hunting and not paying attention to the radar, but it has definately been redudced. You can't plan ahead with a /tar macro, you will have to weed throughnames if thereare other jedi in a groupwhenyoupull up in your speeder, of course they are going to get concerned. You should be able to pull upand just start blasting, give them no reaction time.
This doesn't prevent griefing either, this will open a whole new door to griefing. Jedi, atleast on my server Gorath, are the biggest trash talkers and whiners I've ever came across. Now they will be able to openly talk smack, offer hunted jedi rides, etc without any repercussions. Sure we could randomly get them as a mark. I know this happened to me. I had a mark nearly dead and another jedi friend pulled up, picked him up and then I got a swarm a tells from the driver jedi cussing me out etc. Well I was pissed, got 4 other members in my guild to pick up the same mission and we smoke'd him. If you ask me the whiners are Jedi like that one whoare asking for it.
If anything buff Jedi, let them be able to solo if they want, let them be 2x better for all I care! Just let it be so atleast 2 BHs can share a mission, so friends can have fun hunting. Or maybe they should fix the FRS system so there is a way to give noob jedi a break till they have reach a next level in the FRS then appear on the terms. I don't know I'm not a game designer. All I know is I'm MBH 4 life! Peace.

Spawns on Dantooine are a perfect example of what tanks is talking about. There are HUGE natural spawns of Plicketts (sp?) which are sometimes hunted by more than one group. Imagine the pathetic BH that has to roll up, get off his speeder, then begin either scrolling through all the mobs and other group members or targeting each Jedi in the area one by one till he finds his mark, all the while he's being ridiculed by everyone within eyeshot. The jedi will just run into their praerie dog house or hit FR and get out of there.
This publish will also make using bomb droids hard because you can't setup a macro in advance.
Something else for droids to sell and spices up the hunt a bit.
Does having a macro make Bh seem more of a Hunter or less or one?

Your saying that we have first strike but you know damn well that a Jedi who know we are after him will run, either FR away, hide in the house they so conveniently dropped at their mission, or force cloak and run, so there is no biding your time and getting ready to make your move.
The premise of your argument that we still have first strike is untrue if the Jedi knows we are after him, so I repeat please refrain from making irrelevant arguments.
Here is something that might help you in your future endeavors into rational thinking.![]()

How about when u get 1k meters from your jedi is more like it. So the bounty hunter atleast gots to put some effort to hunting the jedi.

Explain to me how knowing the name after the Arakyd probe reports the planet location is taking away any effort? What more effort do you want us to have? Seriously?!?! You Jedi run around effortlessly killing anything and everything just because you can. And don't even tell me that you deserve the power because you worked oh so hard for it. Double XP and respec Jedi... But when it comes to someone who may be able to take you down... you want us to have more effort!?!?! Like you did grinding Jedi on the Rryyat Trail???
How do u feel like a hunter if u see a jedi in theed and run to the Bh terms and grab him mission and not even get bio sig cause u know hes in theed pvping?

That is one of my problems. On Tarquinas it is a Jedi light show every night in Theed. To be honest I am totally disgusted with it and when names are removed there will be zero way to deal with this.
The Emperor is like 10 mins away from Theed in his retreat....but I guess he cant kill those Jedi since he does not know their names either.

This would help eliminate any percieved "griefing" which is a joke anyway. Jedi is a PvP enabled class
from the moment you create one. And with visibility changing the Jedi that are careful wont even be on the terminals.
