Thread: Cool Down Timer Exploit?

+25 General Ranged Speed

Cool down timers are somehow borked.


It has been said that speed is capped at a 1 sec fire rate.


Now, with MBH,MP and 1 FS speed boxI am actually at a 1 sec rate without powerups using SEA's.


I notice that the timers for each special has a different recharge rate. When I attack a MoB, be it player or NPC without a speed PuP Isee a slower timer rate for specials.


However once I add a speed PuP, my weapon speed drops to .79

While I cannot fire faster than one second using a dedicated special, I do seem to noitce a quicker timer on certain specials when I'm under the 1sec fire rate.


There have have been sequences that Ive used where I can fire specials once a sec without having to worry about cool down, a combo or chain effect if you will.


Whether this is intended or not I've no idea, but I can see it being a cause for concern as anyone proffessiondropping below a speed cap may be able to combo like this.


By design or flaw? Only DEV can answer that one.

Stupid question but I'm not in the game right now. Where is ranged shot at? I don't even remember there being a shot called this. LOL.

It's the regular shot with the red target.

He means +25 from gen ranged speed and +25 from rifle speed = 50 in speed SEAS.

This is why...



Speed timers are like the following for non-back to back same special shots.



special speed x modified speed.




Example ranged shot has a timer of 1, so your next shot can be fired after 1 x your modified speed

adv critical has a time of 1.7, so your nextshot can be fired after 1.7 x your modified speed





Now if you use a speed pup and have a modiifed speed of .6



ranged shot = 1 x .6 or .6 however the cap is 1 so you fire the next differnet shot after 1 second

adv critical = 1.7 x .6 or 1.02 so you can fire you next differnet shot after 1.02 seconds




The cap is not on your modifed speed... The cap of 1 is for how fast you can fire back to back shots.

I know I have been hit from some sort of exploit like this by jedi before. Jedi roots me, walks 10m away walks back up to me and I get hit with 3 specials at the same time and insta incapped.

Jedi have done the same to me and I was told it was legit. I've been figuring out the best ways to attack quickly using quickdraw and combinations of attacks to do the most damage as quickly as possible and I have had much success.


Why is it only an exploit if a BH does it?
