Heh..I jacked my own post....twice!...but...hehe...if the shoe fits...post it!

(I'm easily amused when I haven't slept.)

Heh. These 30+K bosses can be nuts. Not only do they have crazy health, but their regen rates can be quite insane. They make for long, but not very dangerous fights. I know the common template is some form of MBH/Carbs or rifles with some CM in there somewhere. Nice templates, so I've seen, though there are a lot of conditions that make MBH/Whatever a very viable build. Just have to know how to work it down. I've been mark hunting, just for fun, long before our system got an overhaul, and some things I've noticed, have helped me alter my tatics greatly to the point that I've literally had a boss mark do a whopping total of 384 damage to me (granted, he wasn't using a great weapon either...which i found funny.). Anyway...as a ZabrakMBH/MSmugg/0400 Pistoleer, I've had great success hunting NPC marks...as I've sad, and I thought I'd take this moment to share my tactics. (Mind you I rp, so some of these might seem kinda silly.)

Step 1: Survery the grounds. What bounty Hunter just walks up to its mark and starts pounding on it? There's not much hunt to that. I always check for MOBs, terrain changes, that sort of thing. It helps me a lot. I know where I can move to if I need a vantage point, or what side I should come in on to possibly prevent the AOEs from drawing a mob with might distract the fight.

Step 2: Examine your Mark. (I reccomend starting this step at 65m and remaining thereuntil step 4.)They don't seem to be wearing armor, but they sure as hell don't seem to need it either! However, as several have pointed out before me...knowing what weapon your about to be hit with is invaluable. Knowing the proper armor to equip (I keep three sets on me, one kin with armor break reduction, and one enegry with impact deflection slices, and another set of kin with impact deflection), is often the differenece between success and a trip to the cloner. From there, we move on to step 3. Preperation.

Step 3. Preperation. This, is by far the most important step. You need to decidehow you're going to run this, and what weapons you'regoing to use. I alternate between myIon Striker Pistol(Despite the fact it's agod-awful looking weapon.) and my High Capacity Scatter pistol.I generally reccomendlowSAC weapons with moderate to high damage outputs. From there, you need to know your foods. I personally use Kusijito (sp?) Stew, air cake, and crispic. All three of those are foods, giving me +215 health, +200 action regen +25 ranged acccuracy, and +40 I think to dodge (very handy for melee Marks.) The other important part I feel in my food choices is that it leaves my drink bar empty, which is about 4 drinks of ruby bliel(sp?). The important thing to remember about ruby, is even if you just fired off a stim D, if you drink ruby, you can fire off another one instantly, and you'll still take less of a cooldown timer on the next shot. (even though the drink icon leaves your buff bar. Note: I'm not sure if this is a bug, or whats up, some people have told me its pre-CU ruby, but I do not think that's the case.) Finally, before I engage, I take a shot of neutronin(sp? You'd think as a Msmugg I'd know that one..)pixieI use my zabrak ability vitalize to give myself ballpark 4.5-5K Health, then I cue up my duelists stance macro, and engage.

Step 4. Engagment. Now, depending on build, there are a varitey of ways one can go about this...I prefer the KD/Daze method. Gives me plenty of time to close the distance, and pop off the adv. Crit to break daze. However, I use pistols. I have discussed this with Several MBH/Mrifles people, and they like KD/Daze/aim/Snipershot. Quite devestating to watch really. Right. Back on track to what I use, since that's really my best example. Once the initial root has been broken, I quickly slap on an overwhelming shot, and follow it up with advanced confusion shot. Even if just one of the effects (dizzyor daze) stick, you'll find your damage output is slightly increased, and every little bit helps! From there, I try and keep low blow stacked at all times, and then begina cycle of adv.critical shot, and bodyshot.I avoid the use of torsoshot as much as possible, as I use the pair of smuggler daze effects to give myself a breather, and a time to heal if I need it and bleeds break the effects. I normally don't move from the time I engage until the time the mark falls, as it's much easier to keep the DS macro on that way. From there, it's a stright up fight with the mark, and I've only lost one since the boss marks started dropping.

Step 5. The best part. You kill it, you loot it.

forget everything in this thread...

one piece of advice is the only one you need, and that is HEALS

I fight boss marks with a carbine and I have no carbine skills whatsoever, not even the first carbine box in marksman. HEALS are the secret. Get doc4000 or cm4000 and you will be fine.
