Right now, a BH can die without losing anything. The only way a reward will work for the Jedi is if the BH faces something nasty for losing...otherwise the system can be more easily exploited.
The FRS might resolve the issue, depending on the role BH play in advancement...if any...

Without using AoE groups, this represents about 4 to 6 weeks of grinding. Full template jedi can get about 30-40k per hour with dedicated solo grinding. 450k at that point is about 12-15 hours (not counting buffing time and such), and it does scale somewhat.

Expect a BH death to cost somewhere around 15 hours for a padawan if grinding solo, though it is about 4-6 hours with an AoE group (more risk of getting back onto the terms with people who follow/ask for group invites/cloak exploit, etc. though).

everything that can...will be abused

As long as the jedi and bounty hunter wars continue abuse will continue. SOE just needs to put and end to it all. Then we can all sit back and reminisce about the days of the bounty hunters wars and laugh.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

Well i guess when i say grief i'm referring to me vs any non full temp jedi, which is and will always be instant death for the jedi mark. When i'm assured a win i consider it griefing to even bother fighting, know what i mean?

Well that gives a "slight" reason to fight for the new and upcoming jedi, but is basicly worthless to a completed jedi that may actually stay and fight. a 45minute buff isn't worth the time wasted having to kill someone.

Good point...4-6 hours if you grind with a competent AOE group (Kamen...). Many more hours in other circumstances...

I stick by my thoughts that Jedi should never recieve anything(of much value) from killing a BH.

Reason: Most BH's aren't good at what they do. The majority either aren't properly equiped, have a bad template, poor PvP skills, or have no strategy. While I'm not positive what the average full template Jedi win:lose ratio is, I'm sure it's no worse than 5:1(5 wins to every 1 loss).

Jedi is an "elite" class; all who start the journey toward it know what's in store for them and are generally better prepared for PvP in general(since they know they need to be good at it or lose XP). PvP is forced on them, but theyre equipped with abilities that make them innately stronger than all other classes. BH is a bit different, as there is no innate "uberness." Sure, we'll all agree that MBH/MCM gives the ability to stand "toe to toe" with a jedi, but only when played correctly and when properly equipped with the millions and millions worth of gear. Even then, strategy and player thought plays a huge roll.

That being said, Jedi do not deserve anything for killing a BH, as most are not worthy oppenents. I don't so much mind your temporary buff idea because its not of all that much value, however, this will not make any more jedi stick around for tough fights- it will just give them free buffs 5 times out of 6.

Tec makes some good points. The only thing i would argue is the fact that most jedi aren't that good either, seeing as how they're just being given away nowadays.

Then to mention the lack of quality componets for a decent lightsaber...there's no reason why a Jedi should stay to dispatch their agressor.

sounds like something brad pitt and edward norton might be very interested in ...

oh and just to reiterate ... the only reason jedi lost xp in the first place wasto disuade credit farming ... with the rate of xp gain in a good spin group and the random nature of target selection now it's more of an annoyance to new Jedi than anything major ... and for those awaiting frs ... irrelevent lol

Agreed. This, however, is definitely not a solution to anything.

(read before flaming - this is a legitimate post)

Jedi need more Bountyhunter vists.

The current issue is the animosity created with the concept and idea that another player is intending to kill another player with the vision that a death on a Jedi will cause them a terrible loss which equates to greifing.

Bountyhunter and Jedi create a nice aspect to the SWG game and more should be implemented to encourage that a Jedi will actually stay and fight the BH.

The recent changes to the Entertainer caused for the removal of Battlefatigue based upon "players go to entertainers to get rid of something bad..." and that there was a direction to develop the game to encourage a visit to base an experiance upon "...visiting the enteratiner to get soemthing good" which allowed for the new inspiration buffs. There needs to be a similar approach to how BH/Jedi missions are processed.

The problem is a Jedi has more to gain by running and hiding while the Bountyhunter player is attempting to complete a mission. Experiance loss is not the best determent to gaining visibility and there needs to be an associated penalty that resolves around "force" and not exp. A change like this will allow for a Jedi to maintain the desire to continue to gain viz thus allowing for more missions for a BH.

More importantly, the Jedi need an honest gain from defeating a Bountyhunter and this should NOT be something that is associated with the force ranking system. The best thing I can think of off the top of my head would be:

Jedi defeats Bountyhunter ruining mission agasint them =x 0.8% forcecost buff for 45 minutes.
