anyone think that they should encorporate the holocrons back into the game? (i.e. they could open up new aspects of the force;function similar to what they do normally). Just a thought, (not profession grinding- just more about the force)

Oh... and if you would like an entertaining power... I wonder what it'd be like if you could use the force to possess somebody's character and take control of them.

Too bad they go away after one use, it would be nice if it would let you keep it but still use only every 23 hours. They go for like 400k each and thats a lot of cash for some players

Very true. I certainly would have no problem what-so-ever with the dev's increasing holocron drop rates...

saber crafting bug.

equip saber crash bug.

was there ever a publish or hot fix that fixed more things then it broke. the only good thing in the last couple of months was the introduction of sullistans. god they are adorable

appologies if this should be in a different thread/already suggested.

With all the screaming about buffbots that's been going on, it seems to boil down to just a few things. The spam, the damage they do to our reputation, and the fact that an ATK dancer just can't compete (we can't afford the skill tapes, never mind the time)

I'm not touching the first two with a bargepole (and please don't in replies either, we have enough threads already for this) but the third.....

At present time we have foods and spices to boost wound healing, stats and many other assorted things, so foods that boost skills are a well known concept, but AFAIK there's no buff boosting food, drink or spice. What if a short duration but highly boosting edible buff booster was added to the game? (Idealy it should give a better than 25% bonus, I'd really like to see enough that a buffed novice was as good as an unbuffed master)

Now, at first glance this might seem to be better for the bots, but think this through.

Let's say our hypothetical booster lasted 5 minutes (or 1 buff). An ATK entertainer just has to use it when they're about to start a buff, and the fact that we have to spend money gives us something the combatters can relate to when we ask for payment. (When it's just your time they spend how guilty do they feel when they don't give big tips?). A buffb*t can't know when they're actively buffing and so would have to take them constantly. Doing a bit of maths (I was a bit bored in my particle theory lecture ok?) then assuming a cost of 140k for a crate containing 25 bottles holding 20 shots each (prices based on good brandy on chiaemera) then each buff costs the atk entertainer 280cr, while the buffb*t spends 280*20*24=134400cr to keep this up for the entire day.

Now I don't know about you, but I'm willing to spend quite a bit more than that, so lets say each buff costs 2000cr (based on the fact that a master doc charges 14k for a set of 6 buffs, and we need at least a small profit for our time). Now the buffb*t spends 2000*20*24=960000cr a day.

Suddenly running a buffb*t isn't so financially attractive. I won't claim that this will get rid of the bots, but I can't see many people letting them bleed 1mil a day for these better buffs, so ATK entertainers will be in demand 'cos our buff will be better. It's amazing the trouble people are willing to go through just to get a slightly better product.

Of course, this dosen't take fullness/downers into effect, again not a problem for the ATK entertainer who has time to recover from each useage, but a big problem for the buffb*t, forcing them to either slow down (and make their customers *gasp* wait) or give a very patchy service (if you're promised 150% and only get 125% you won't be comming back will you?)

This isn't a perfect fix, but it would be a quick fix to level the playing field again, without stepping on a lot of toes.

(disclaimer: I may still be slightly drunk at the time of writing, so I appologise if this dosen't make sense)

i like this idea, i think it's pretty well thought out. and doing the math helps out in proving it viability. but IMHO, i liked my idea of providing buffs by having honey licked off my toes just a little bit better, lol! i'll put a link to it later on, but i'm lazy right now.

Note that this may be server specific:

The problem is not that we can't compete statwise. The problem is that we are not as predictable. On Shadowfire we have a wonderful musician named Buzzz. Buzzz spent 10million credits to aquire a +25% suit so that he can provide 125% mind buffs. He's personable, charming, plays good music, and is more than happy to travel to other locations to provide buffs. But people use the buffbots instead. The botsdon't have the 125% bonus but they are always in the same location no matter the day or time. That is why they are used.

So I have nothing against the proposal to offer us foods that will increase the buff percentage we can provide but it's not going to make any difference. Not one person has ever asked me "Can you buff for 125%?" They never even seem to notice when they get more than a 100% buff. They simply want a 100% buff for 2 hours and they want it available in the same spot at all hours of the day. No food is going to allow me to do that.

cheers,

Ikewe

Can a saber be ignited while wearing Armor? Let's say that I equiped some high resistance Composite with good attachments, PSG. How long would it take a TKM BH to take you down if I was say a master Medic Still. Only have LS 0044. I have a high damage 3rd Gen LS. What would be the damage done to the BH during the fight, and would it be enough to eventually take him down? Since not using any specials you would not gain any Visibility just wondering if this would be a good way to counter a BH. hehe, got a pre-fix Krayt Republic Blaster with no cert that I could equip too.

TKM's have got headhit, you cant heal that with armour on. I've hit ranged for 200/sec with headhit so you still wont stand long
