You think Jabba would hesitate to but a bounty on YOUR head if you took a payoff from a mark he hired you to wax? Hell no..your a$$ would get hunted down because of your sense of 'honor' by people more inspired to skin you than you were to skin your mark.
No, you were hired to do a job..finish it. If you want to play the 'honorable' BH, then skip the payoff and kill the mark. If you want to be Jabba's kind of scum (a BHs BH) then take the payoff then kill the mark anyway (make some money on the side)
As far as the rep..you WANT a rep!! as a bad a$$ that people will not mess around with. If you take payoffs and let Jedi run, then they will not respect you as a serious hunter, and not fear you as they should.
you think Jango Fett was cloned as the base for the CLone Troopers because he took payoffs from marks and screwed his employers? hell no. He was chosen because he was reliable and methodical, and finished his jobs.

funy thing got this post up on one comp get a mission my main and hes CL 66. run in cap him straight away. I say pay me 250k or u die u have till your 3rd incap to pay me
gets up no money 2nd incap.
i say u got till u get up to pay eveyrone in hes group offers to pay, i get paid and drop mission.
i think whats more important getting another kill on my sig or somones happiness, the reason i do this mainly is because i killed a pad i saw all the time on my server after i killed them ive never seen them on since.

I feel like some Jedi deserve it. I came upon a low level paddy who I gave the option to pay out his bounty so he wouldn't lose the xp. He said, "Ok." Then booked it into his house."I never pay off BHs!" is what he told me. An hour later he was DBed at my feet.

Some people just don't consider the other side, believe me i don't want BH's to take it easy on people, but i just think some never actually imagine what the other side experiences it. It'll be nice once they add something that isn't so one sided in the fact that, tyou get paid, i get more rep for killling you and not bothering to run away. /shrug. no damn content in this game anyways.
This is a complicated issue which is often discussed on these forums. It's a personal choice, no-one can tell you differently. The thing is WHAT IF they did pay you and you drop the mission, but the next mission you pick up is their mission again? Would you hunt them or kill them? It could happen *nudge nudge* *wink wink*
Really it's down to you. If you want to go ahead, if not that's fine. I may or may not do that, depending on my mood at the time. I've never got to that situation as if a jedi fights back i will kill them and not take a bribe, unless i can see they are grinding hard and are a padawan who doesn't macro grind on kashyyyk (i try to encourage people to play the game, not write a macro).
That is considered greifing, and can get your account suspended.
