Thread: Publish 20 Simulation!... an effort to debunk the whiners
/applaud
It's very refreshing to see a BH that knows how to hunt.
Hats off to you. All you other BH's in here, reread the original post and learn.
And for the ones thinking that Kashyyyk jedi are impossible to hunt, think again. Actually, think. The jedi that find their delight to afk grind are not too hard to outsmart. Not very hard to find at all.
Now, I'll just assume that you're taking others' opinions at face value and not actually tried to "hunt" on Kashyyyk. Because I'd hate to think the kind of name you're making behind the scenes if these padawans actually did outsmart the hunter....![]()

Besides, why would anyone use a proton carbine without having ANY carbine skills? It might just be me being paranoid, but I don't trust this guy.

Your so damn stupid (or arespec jedi troll...ohh wait, same thing)if you think jedi will stop grinding in ryyat after 20 just because it creates more visibility.
How manyBH are going to bother looking for a random difficulty jedi in a random spot in one of SIX (YES SIX) instances?!
Many more BH will keep looking for regular world missions then even now, putting even more pressure on jedi not hiding on kashyyyk.
I REPEAT, you are either very -VERY- stupid or a jedi troll if you think higher visibility will get people out of ryyat
add to that mydrial caves, black forest etc, the number of nooks and crannies a jedi can hide are to many even to attempt it. Jedi will still grind on Kashyyyk because its secluded and its got good exploit points, if they grind anywhere else there is a chance a npc person could spawn or a player driving past, many jedi grinding on Kashyyyk will except the visability because after patch 20 they are untrackable.
Poor BH's have to work for a living after Publish 20 ![]()
Now days the BH does is wait for the target (normally a jedi in the 40-150k area) to be in the middle of a pull pref low on hps then run in incap and db.
If you see a BH that actually goes for a full hp jedi thats worth more than 150k he have skills and aint a /respec BH and thoose will adjust to Publish 20, soo the rest of you 5-10 badges BH with no BH badge can just go on whining or use that last Token respec and go Master Dancer/Master Image Designer.
The current bounty system is used to greif, and take down jedi that aint a challenge just for the fun off it.
Soo what kind of BH are you?:

Ok... Publish 20 simlulation:
So I'm bored out of my mind because at CL 80 and being an MBH, there's nothing really left to do except hunt jedi. I guess I could do some quests... nah ontoanother Jedi hunt.I think to myself, "Let's make this interesting". What would happen if I hunted a Jedi without knowing his name? Hmm.... interesting indeed. So I go to BH town, Kadaara, and log into the terms.
Now I know that I cannot fully simulate patch 20 and the nameless/no payoutterminal becausecurrent terminalsstill show payouts. I figure that when the patch hits and when one sees 40-52 payouts (plus you get a bonus depending on the level of the Jedi), I would be one of thosepersons who would automatically pick a 52k mission in hopes (or risk) of getting assigned a full template Jedi which usually pays 226k total. I also picked a 226k mission so that if successful, I can further defuse the myth that a full template Jedi cannot be soloed (for all you gank squad individuals). So Iaccept the first 226k mission without looking at the name of the mark. It's Arakyd time. Grr.. offline. Drop the mission and pick up the next one and dispatch droid.... offline. Huh. I guess patch 20 will be good for something as they say they'll fix the offline Jedi thing. /hope.Four Arakyds later,I get a live one. Target is in Theed no less. Launch a seeker, bust out the speeder, and drive to Theed thinking of an approach since I won't know who and what my mark is.
I get within 1000+ meters of the waypoint. Seeker updates and no change. Tactics time. Off comes the armor and I change into regular clothes. I also made sure that I had no tag up and have myself as anonymous. Usual checks also follow, bomb droid in place, PvP food at the ready, stim D's at the ready, macros all set up,so on and so on. I also equip a staff (lol) in an attempt to ward any suspicion upon approach. Good to go. I drive into the city and spot the Jedi in front of the Starport playing swords. Heh, never seen that before. I don't stop driving and keep an eye on the targeted waypoint... you know the big orange triangle. Hmm... there are a couple of Jedi (6-7), some stragglers watching/dancing, and some NPC's all cluttering the radar. At this point I kind of have an idea who the mark is, but not 100% certain. Everyone in this group is moving. I then get off the speeder and leave it out just in case. Wait for the seeker to update then I approach stopping here and there until I make it to the group/fightclub. At this point I figure I need to appear as an onlooker,so I park myself ringside at the colored stick fest. Quick check of the spatial chat confirms that my insertion was unnoticed. I zoom the radar to 32 meters zero in on the mark. Seeker updates again and I know who the mark is now (the big glowing orange pillar is also helpful lol). Ithenstudy the mark. CL 80, no shirt, no shoes and wearing some type of medallion. Hmm... must be 70's day in Theed but I didn't get that memo. Further examination shows that he only has 9 badges lol. This guy has to be either a respec/double xp grinding/ or infamous afk grinder since it seems he doesn't get around much. I also check to see what buffs he has on and their respective timers. 4 buffs all starting to fall off at the 1-3 minute mark. Hmmm... no looping macros eh?I am now confident he is an amateur PvP. Time for the smack down. THE END.
j/k I guess I'll tell you hwo the fight went down. /deepbreath.
I slowly make my way around to stand behind him to maximize any first strike capability. Calmly, I switch into armor, pull out the bomb droid, and eat/drinkfoodand spice. 1st macro of improved electrolyte drop/paralyze/improved traumatize goes in before I even arm a weapon and start firing. I alsomake sure improvedinfect hits (for those non-believers itcaps total HP and decreases that cap over time, thus preventing ajedi mark from healing at full potential). By the time my 2nd debuff macro hits he types out ****! (lol). I arm a proton carb and open fire while running away to put at least 45-50 meters between me and the mark. When his life goes under 1/2, I send the fun droid in and, viola, the first incap happens. No noobish manuevers like running in for the DB since patience seperates the good PvP'rs from the bad. He gets up and starts his march towards me (hehe, electro drain is a wicked 2 minute snare). I keep firingso hekeeps healing himself and consumes more force. He, almost predictably, buffs himself... see I told you he was an amatuer. Mindpool... down about 45%. There's the good 'ol saber throw and KD. Hit the knockdown recover and continue shooting specials to keephis healing up + force consumption. 2nd saber throw and I'm kissing the pavement once more which allows him to close the gap. After a couple of hits/misses (gotta love quality food that makes them miss) from Mr. Jedi I get up and I hitmy DOT macro. I know he's hurting now because enhanced DOT'sboth hit and stick. 550-600 damage per 5 clicks is gotta hurt. I now go toe to toe with with him fighting and healing myself and him doing the same only difference is I have more mind than he and, I know he's gotta be starving for force. I re-apply the electro-drop/traumatize again.A little while longer,I notice his heals are getting farther apart so its time to kite. He sees me doing this and he disengages and turns around pretty much to run away. Stopping shot hits and he's rooted. Spam Adv. Crit/Torso Shot and he's incapped for the second time with a longer timer this time. Run up, DB macro is engaged. /wave;/bows_to_jedifriends
And just like that 226k in the bank and complimentary Jedi hate tells about my sexual orientation to boot. /rideoffintosunset
With this type of scenario, I think I figured out what the DEVS actually want the role of the BH to be. They want you to "hunt" your mark (Bounty "HUNT"er get it?) instead oftheseother "hunting" techniques so many brag about (you know, IsawaJedi outside of the cantina, grabbed his mission, thenDB). From the sappy disguises, running around, getting close, and attacking from behind, I would say the hunting aspect if killing Jedi has been raised somewhat. You just have to KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. Yes, you can kill a knight without your noob gank squad and still win. Again YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
I know the DEVS will raise the bar to hunting with publish 20, but jeeze I don't think it'll be that much to cry over. I just did a no-name mission and it wasn't even on the test server lol. NP. It didn't take me that long to locate the mark evenwith the offline Jedi I picked up. NP. While I still have some gripes about the no payout-info aspect of the new publish, I will continue to hunt jedi. If I ever should get a mark that is below CL 80, then guess what... somewhat of an easier kill,xp loss, hate tells, and Jedi complaining on their forum saying how this game sucks. A satisfying combination for me even if it doesn't pay the 200k+ bounty. I'll admit I'll miss spotting a Jedi in the starport showboating and running to the terms to get his mission, but I guess the DEVS really want you to use your droids lol. Again NP!!!. And did I mention that Jedi's can't run and hide in a house anymore? LOL the silver lining on this dark cloud just keeps getting bigger each publish.
So bring on the feared publish 20 devs!!! ::shakes fist with Tubec Idos:: Take those names off the Terminals!!! Make the noob BH's change profession/go away!!! Seperate the Men (women) from the children!!!
I, for one, am ready. /cock_scatterpistol.

Good story but I disagree somewhat. While your tactics certainly worked the problem is, it won't for long. If the sole viable method of getting close to your mark is to sneak in known hunters will have a problem here.
In the current system you can choose between several options such as sneaking/stalking as you did and go in guns blazing which is a good thing.
With the latter method even the servers most infamous hunter retains his first strike ability or more correctly "the element of surprise" This will now be reserved for new, and/or unknown hunters for a short while until word starts flying around.
I want names but I would be perfectly happy to be given it when I am at 512m. This should suffice to prevent griefing.
If a jedi only has 9 badges, it will mean they are a pre publish 9 jedi, sombody who unlocked in the old system over a year ago through hologrinding, where your alt chararacterbecame a jedi, not your main character like it is now.
There's 2 possibilitys for your story, either BS or Jebay.

Actualy, im a respec BH...with 10 or 11 badges, and no, im not l33t.
but i do go after cocky jedi like you, i especialy like handing 200k+ jedi their overconfident asses. Went toe to toe with an MLS MDef 225k jedi at fullFS/mind in ryyat, all i got after killing him is a bunch of whines (what a surprize comming from a respec jedi, much like you)

go after a real jedi ? every mission you drop is a failed mission. bounty hunters who drop missions because they will be a challenge are not real bounty hunters. they are wannabe pvpers.
if you just want to pvp, why don't you grow a sack and go special forces ? bounty hunters are nothing but lamers who can't handle fighting more than one overt at a time. it's like pvp with training wheels. against low level padawans it's like touching yourself to get excited.
Yeah the 20 vs 4 GCW fights i keep seeing seem a lot fairer than 1 vs 1, thank god your l33tness is there to camp starports with 19 of your friends...showing us how real PvP works (ie. lame and one sided in almost every case).

Why would they have even that many Pre 9. I mean I had just finished 32 professions why would I want to do 9 more. I have one medic, which at the time was needed for Doc and I had just the healing line in that. 9 badges sounds more like a respec in those first days prior to badges getting shut off. 2 badges a day 4 days to get them sounds about right for the hotfix that went in.

Probably stay the same. I just wish they made the spawn timers 4x longer on the ferals lol. Oh wait... they might cry.
Well at least you admit it.
I, personally, am not a MCM. I have to rely on stims for heals, I don't have dots, and I don't have debuffs. Yes, I could use my token respec and change my template, but I really don't want to be a combat medic. I fail to see the point of the CU if I'm still pigeon-holed into one template choice.
As a MBH/MP/C44xx, I can't solo a 225k. I'll admit that. Tell me I suck, call me a newb, whatever, but i just can't kill a knight without help. To be honest, I don't really care. I can get just as much enjoyment out of this game by solo-ing a 180k.
Unfortunately, due to the disabled droids and static spawns, 80% of uncompleted templates go to Kashyyyk for their grind. I don't like this, but I can live with it. I check each instance, write down the names I see, then go back and scan the terms for a sizeable bounty with one of my names. Aside from the initial research run, this is a fairly quick and rewardingprocess.
Without names on the terms, I will have to check every instance, every time. Not only will this take hours per bounty, but I can't see that as time well spent if after all my work I end up being paid 50k because full payouts won't be listed on the terms either.
Sure, if I could solo a knight without taking the only template that's able to do so, I'd be just as apathetic as you are. But until I can or until Kash is fixed, I'm going to be seriously ham-stringed by this Publish.
