Thread: Kash Jedi after PUB 20 = endangered species
in case you missed it, they REMOVED 90% of the names on NPC's. because the sheer amount of killing done made the server choke as it had to reroll random 1000 names every 0.00001 seconds. so, sadly your line of reasoning failed.
i stand corrected ![]()
i always thought that if they talked. e.g. "i'll get you for that" or "call for re-enforcements" they were npcs, if not they were creatures. how does it work for say battledroids and the like?
If all goes well and I can get around the bugs in Melee Accuracy quest I should be Padawan in the next few days.
I have unlocked Rryatt, Ettyy, and the Avatar platform so IF I wanted to be that kind of Padawan I could.... butafter playing for 2 years there's no way I'll be grinding Jedi on Kassyk. Why???
It's cheap. Sure, do what you want. Use the bugs/exploits, never get killed, grind as much as you want and make every BH hate you. Thats your decisions.
Personally, I have a certain level of self respect interms of my toon. I put a lot of work into him over this time period and I have no intent on generating a bad name for myself by being one of "those jedi". I'm not trying to tell anyone else whats right or wrong, but wether Pub 20 came out or not there was no way you would have found me on the Rryatt trail grinding with impunity.

now, I am not either a code here, or a CSR, so I cannot know for certain but here is what I do know:
critters are generating visibility, anything that (in theory) should come out of a lair is a critter.
NPC's generate visibility, opposing faction generate more more, but how much I do not know.
I believe with 83% certainty that droids are considered NPC's, as are pets, however I do not know if creature handlers pets would give visibility if the owner is grouped, and they are not.
Tanks, can you perhaps get something set up on TC to test this?

Jedi will continue to grind on Kashyykk for the same reason they did pre-publish 20. They can avoid death by using exploits. Why would it matter if they got visibility whenthey can exploit to avoid any death?
Why would they continue to gain vis unnecessarily, ensuring they can't really play their character anywhere else? I'd rather gain exp at a slightly slower rate, but still have the privilege of PLAYING my character.

Because these players use exploits to avoid the consequence of visibility. But yeh... let me take your word of honor as a Jedi troll.... hahahahahahahahahahahahah

I'll let you know when your belief in what I say begins to matter to me.
Why would they care if they generate visibility while grinding on Kash? Most BH will drop every Kash mission as soon as they get it. Assuming you do decide to take a Kash mission the seekers dont work there so the best you can do is search every instanceuntil you figure out where they are and since the seekers don't work how will you get their name or figure out who to look for? I guess you could travel to every instance of the Ryyatt trail and see if you can target a Jedi...fun fun. Finally, assuming for the sake of argument you DID actually find the Jedi you had a mission on and were able to kill them, exactly how long do you think it would take to grind away that xp loss? Its a total joke.
So basically post pub 20 you have 2 options. 1) Take a mission on a Jedi you can't kill (i.e full template and doesn't need Kash anymore) or 2) Wander aimlessly through Kashyyk randomly trying to target Jedi.

disagree... whole heartedly.... I believe it'll stay the same.
Yes, they have the option to go hunt somewhere else, however without the ability to scout out jedi on the trail, find their mission and come back.... they will be less prone to seeing the same BH over and over coming back for a free meal.
Good point Algre, but if I were a padawn after pubish 20 why would I want to insure visibility and being on the terms by hunting on Kash when the wookies will generate the visibility I dont want. My best soultion would be to hunt in groups with guildmates and friends on dant or tat and not have to worry about generating visibility - thereby gaining the xp i need in order to advance my skills while not generating visibility.
For those reasons I believe that Kash will be somewhat devoid of "smart" Jedi after publish 20

err, we still have vis though. And with all the random npc spawns and people flying by on bikes its not uber easy to get no vis. I dont hunt in Kash because your like a sitting duck, on dantooine i can run into a safehouse and go make a sandwich while the bh gets bored. I still think 80% of Kash grinders will stay there because A) They can go afk. B) You arent going to have those bh who scout and kill anymore. C) Noob bounty hunters arent going to want to spend 30 minutes getting to Kash and running through 6 instances just to kill a jedi who gives you 52k. Or better yet run though 4 instances find your prey with an (AFK) title over his head start wasting on him then you see -block- -miss- -block- -251,and realize, crap its a mdef mls helping out a guildie. Then you get pwned and wasted an hour+. There is also the fact that they might just happen to log out 3 minutes after you get there mission. Pub 20 is like a filter, all the noob /respec bh with there 301dps proton carbines will no longer enjoy it. All your heavy duty Bount hunters with the advacned laser rifle with 480+ dps and the 1100+ stims will be the only thing you will see. So you guys should be happy, your no longer going to be 1/300000000 bounty hunters on a server, youll be like 1/5000. Unless your a /respec bh....
Before the flames come in i didn't /respec any jedi skills and I hardly used Kash because after the first sitting duck scene I left.
