Thread: Space Bounties, anyone?
Not because I hate BH, I have one, but because the Smugglers are the beaten redheaded stepchild of SWG proffesions in dire need of love.
Once smugglers get some love and actually SMUGGLE, then I would consider jumping on this bandwagon.
BTW, Smuggler was my first profession mastered and by far my favorite even with how broken they are.

I dont know how many have dont the BH missions from the guy on Kash, but one of them is a space mission, which got me thinking. Seriously, why isnt this in place yet? It would be incredibly easy to do. Grab a mission off the term like normal, launch a probe droid like normal, but instead of it telling you what planet your mark is on it tells you what space sector. Go to the term, launch your ship, hyperspace to that sector, launch a seeker(droids dont need to breathe) and follow the wp as it updates to your mark. I've got a firespray but no way to use it in my BHing
Let us hunt in space, I say! Just think, this could be you!PS: I'm not talking about player bounties, I'm just talking about some space NPC missions just for variety.

Yeah that could be you, if the Firespray didn't move like a fat kid on a hot day.
Awesome idea. I have dreamed and dreamed of doing -something- in space other than getting FPs.
Maybe if we take to long our marks would hyperspace somewhere else? Instead of using arkyd droids, we could buy something for our ships to track them to that sector?
This would definitely make me feel more like a BH.

I think the problem is how hard you make these things. Each person has different flying styles. So while one mission will be too easy for one particular person, the same mission could present problems for another pilot. How would you balance this?
What about the other BHs crying " my boss mark is to hard. " As long as you master pilot or get 4/4/4/4 im sure this would be excellent. And well get enough money to upgrade your ship at least. Same thing goes to ground. Have enough skill and money and NPC marks are easy!
Add in the fact that BH missions spawn randomly, you could potentially get a mark spawned on top of other tier ships. While you run into the same problems in places like Dathomir, the ground game is much more forgiving in this aspect since you can heal, and the NPC dont follow you for as long, etc.
K and what if my mark on the ground spawns in between 3 Kimos on Lok. That happens all the time. If you're in trouble, simply hyperspace out and try again.
All in all, it just seems more complicated then it's worth. And maybe that's why they havent added it. Not only that but it would only cater to the hard-core pilot(I would much rather see bugs fixed, and content that focuses on more people).
I'm not saying this isnt an exciting idea, I would run space missions for sure. I'm just playing the devil's advocate here, saying it's much more to consider.
So whats the difference between this and the ground?

Space is based on skill. Which would take half the population of BH out of the picture. I dont have a problem flying in space, but the point is this would only be for500 people out of the thousands of BH that play. I'm sure those BH would rather see bugs fixed, and new content added that all BH's can enjoy.
I addressed the point about random spawns. On the ground it is far easier to heal and run. In space things will chase you for a very long time, and hyperspacing is even more of a time sink.
Good idea on paper.
I always thought it would be great if you pull an NPC mission and the bounty could be either on a planet or in space. Seems very Star-Warsy, and the Kash space BH mission felt like a teaser for this.
Perhaps they could introduce space-enabled bounties ina manner similar to the RIS armor quest. In other words, once you master pilot, you can make your bounties "space enabled" by completing some sort of quest. This would then randomize your NPC bounties between land and space.
I'd say as long as it's not player bounties since a SINGLE hit kills in PvP space battles. First strike would end up being the ONLY strike.

I agree that Smugglers need a serious revamp, but your logic can be applied to almost anything to say it shouldnt be added to the game until after smugglers can smuggle. "They shouldnt add new expansions until they've fixed smuggler". "They shouldnt add new quests/dungeons/whatever until they've fixed smuggler". I agree smuggler needs fixing, but thats up to the smuggler correspondant to get done. I really hope the Devs get it done too, but that doesnt mean the rest of us cant dream up ways to improve other parts of the game
