I was looking at that, and it was mentioned to me by my guidmate who is CM that he used the 0440 template in medic, so that he has better heals. I don't know what his other profession is though. I might teater with that, and just do without the root, since this would give me better heals.

Well, Im not sure how good this is, as I only am a few XP away from my potentioal Temp, but this is my plan:


MC / MBH / Pistoleer0004/ a few boxes in medic for better healing


Now I know this doesnt give me any healing powers, but that was thought of.


I think in order to take care of the healing problem, I buy some Dstims (around 1000 heal), and have some Ruby Bliel with me, which allows 3 stims per minute.


This leads to an interesting technique. Since I amMC and MBH will make it hard enough to hit me good, I can useKDs, Roots, Snares, that can be cycled and when things get rough, andaround 3000 points to heal per min. what do ya think?

i took combat medic into mind before doctor, really as a good combat medic you could be just as good as doctor... i have Root, snare, and KD, so i barely have to tank unless it's againstthe fast moving NPC's which are usually the huge ones(my main focus in killing) sofor example when i'm hunting a high levelkrayti need thosebest heals AND buffs which CM doesnt have, combat medic does have great heals but it's a chance to take combat medic... i often fall down to such a tiny little sliver of health that i need the best heals to not fall dead, since i'm buffed up on healthany unbuffedcombat medic would die if something just like this were to happen to them,but yes a combat medic's kill would be much faster, but there's that chance that they die, as doctor the chance is much lower because the CM combat skills arent going to kill the dragon fast enough to keep you alive if he catches you and your <KD,snare,stopping shot>doesnt work, an ancient can kill me in 3 hits if i dont heal fast enough, here's how it works


you shot him with snare shot, it misses

you shoot him with stopping shot it hits and keeps him stopped for a few seconds

he starts coming after you again, you KD and it hits

he gets up comes after you, you snare shot... it misses, he's still coming after you...

you stopping shot... it misses (happens to me ALL the time)

he's got one hit on you (not a good idea to heal yet) he gets another hit on you...

you heal after hit #2 and try another hex shot... it misses due the the fact you are dizzy, stunned, and blinded now, he hits you 1, 2, 3 times your out


this can happen much faster especially if your first shot (best idea to snare depending on surrounding krayt) misses or has no effect on the enemy because he can run up and do his blind, dizzy, stun attack making your shots much less likley to hit, if you use your recover skills.. your action goes down and you've just missed 3 rounds and you're dead..


as you can see there are other possibilities to a fight like this ones that you would actually survive... but if you hunt as doctor you're chances are higher to survive due to the heavy duty heals and buffs


also, Advanced Bacta Shot and Bacta Jab... Cm doestn have bacta jab or 'advanced' bacta shot

yes bacta jab is vital to survive a fight in many cases... since you can bacta jab while waiting on the bacta shot to cooldown your heals are pretty fast there, i wont mention infuse because i never use that and never have needed to, it's mind cost is way high


i dont know much about mind cost and action cost of CM heals but... i hunt using no food... i run fully on buffs, armor, and my carbine and my mind bar takes quite a while to go down to 0, i know my template is self-sufficient, and i'm in no way saying that combat medic is 'not' self-sufficient, but i'de go with Doctor over CM anyday

Alright, I've started CM 2000 right now. Although I am looking over my benefits from Doctor. I really like the idea of Paralyze, but then both can revive players, and I'll have the drag ability under my belt. Let me see how that starts going and I'll let you know what I think of it.

I have Medic 4440/Novice CM/DR 4001/MMarks/MCarb and it seems to be doing really well right now. I won't know fully until I start dropping more of my ranged setup, but it seems to have stablized for the time being. Been pretty strong, and has very good heals. Got me out of a group aggro several times, while being able to put it back on them.

My template (which I am really enjoying), is Master Carbineer/ Master Pistoleer/ 0-4-4-0 Medic/ 24 points of FS. It works out perfectly, 0 skill points left over. With a +17 BE healing efficiency shirt, I heal for 900 with bacta shot, and 500 with bacta spray. I also get all the crowd control specials from pistoleer and get to use them on my carbine. I still have a very good damage output because I can alternate between leg shot and body shot. I am still reasonably fast with my carbine, and reasonably accurate as well. I think this template would work for what you are trying to do.

Here's what I've ended up with after playing around with different temps:


Master Carbineer/ Master Pistoleer


BH 0300 (improved critical)


Medic 0020


Tons of states, variety of high damage specials (improved critical and improved leg shot are on different timers).


When I need to heal, I can buy time with disarm. And terrain negotiation for kiting goodness.



I had to drop master marksman to pick up the medic, but the loss of general ranged speed only took my modified speed from 1.35 to 1.36 with my main carbine - no noticeable change.

So far it's looking pretty good, though I think I might be getting shaky here soon. MCarb/Rifle 4000/Medic 4440/Doc 4002.


It's doing great against the Sharnaff hunts we do around town. Level 80 Sharnaff, and I am level 69. I'm keeping up with some of the TK/Swords. I also dueled one of my guildmates a CL 80 Carbineer/Rifleman and just mopped the floor with him. Like I said, It's looking like I might need to drop some marksman boxes to fully complete DR, since I don't really want to lose my bacta toss and spray. I might just drop that first and see how it works.

califerous... what exactly are you wanting to do, do you like to solo or group-hunt more? recently on my template i actually soloed a DJM which is CL 113 double chevron, for soloing you could do Mcarbineer/Mdoctor/Pistoleer 0-0-0-4 or Mcarbineer/MCombat Medic/pistoleer 0004, combat medic would leave you open with 18 skill points, you could put it torwards FS skills or you could go up another branch in pistoleer and one branch in FS skills, i still suggest doc, i could have never soloed that jedi master with no buffs

Here my template which sounds kida like what you were thinking:



I am Master Smuggler/Master Carbineer/ Pistoleer 4004



This allows me to spam leg shot and body shot which are great damage dealers for me


I have access to many different snares


I can root a guy for 15 secs with stopping shot


if i need to heal I can hit him with concussion shot and rest for 30 secs then repeat the whole process over


Ivesoloed goraxes like this and never taken damage

Has anyone tried this temp out yet.


master defender , ls 0404 , healer 3000, enhancer 2002, and powers 3000


seems like it would be pretty cool since youll have the defender defense. have a good lightsaber. can heal only 1k but hey thats why they make stims. have channel force and force run 1 and force suppression and to finish it off advanced lightning. SO you can hit from a far. Well what you all think. O and force powers with robe is 6100.

Lightning is a waste of skill points, saber throw is faster, does higher damage and can be used while running.
