hAHaHaaa! Do not make fun of this person! He made the supreme sacrafice of not playing a jedi in avideo game. Never have I seen such heroics! Never have I seen such bravery! There should be statues built in his honor .... yes... banners waving... This could be the ultimate sacrafice ever in human video game history. Fear not CaldaOrdo! I will praise your name!

Naw, he just realized it would take him a min of 4 months of reg grinding and another 1 month of Jedi grinding. Probably why he is a crafter/bh. That 5'ish months of dedication was just too difficult to focus on.

On a different note. I wonder if we would have this problem if pistols or rifles or carbines GLOWED while holding them. Damn there would be a lot of glowing people. That might even overshadow Jedi.

But, alas, you can't teach someone the fallacy of their ways. So with that...

YA JEDI ARE evERYWHERE AND ARE OVER pOWERD AND STUFF...NERF THEM AND MOVE ON TO CRAFTeRRRRS!!!

Most of us know exactly how difficult the BH grind is.

Make the amount of Force power Available, dependent on the the amount of Jedi. If there is a lot of Jedi, low Force power for them all. If there is a small number of Jedi, Mega Force power for them all. This will solve the problem with every third player being a Jedi. The Astromech friday feature a while back showed thatJedi Defender* is the most popular profession in the game, when there was only a few Jedi around during the time in the Saga. If Jedi is weak, players will drop it, making the others stronger. if Jedi is strong, players won't give out the secrets to getting it on these forums, This is a reasonable solution, shown by the fact that the Sith did this, they had thousands of members and there were getting weaker, and they lost, so they made the rule of two, to keep the Dark Side strong, and it worked, look at episode III.

So.....listen to me all you Devs out there!

Thanks for listening ( * that is incorrect, it's force sensitive-combat)

Actually, go back to the Astromech stats and read again - The list was from August 19th of this year - 3 months ago - And showed clearly that Jedi disciplines were in the middle of the pack as far as playable characters are concerned.

Yes, there are too many Jedi - Even Jedi acknowledge that.. But instead of continuing to find new ways to LIMIT Jedi, why not focus on finding ways to INCREASE the other professions?

Wow, ive seen loads of posts saying "jedi population is too high" but ive never seen anyone say it would be better to increase the population of other profession.

I think what he means is to give people a reason to play something other than jedi by making other professions worthwhile.

Exactly - If other professions were viable - Smuggler for example - Both BH and Jedi alike would rush to play it, as Smuggler is every bit as Canonical as Jedi and BH. If wearing Stormtrooper armor was superior to other armors in every way, Imperials would wear that to really appear to be Troopers...

The list goes on and on. The cycle of Nerfs isn't helping.. Maybe it's time to improve instead of tear down.

Exactly. I don't want to see any class get the nerf bat. And why not have more "alpha" type classes? Like one for every class...an uber ranged class, where you have to first unlock it by mastering pistols, rifles and carbs...and then have it open up another set of skill boxes, but have advancment based on a bit of xp and QUESTS!!! instead of mind numbing grinding...the reward would be sick abilities (like using 2 pistols at a time), equipment (rifle scopes that really zoom in) and special moves...like an armor break shot. Do the same for melee...and even crafters (introduce a new set of really good, only craftable weapons)...it would make the game a lot more balanced and more interesting for vet players.

Sorry, but I do not like this idea. I do not think it would solve anything other than have half the remaining population left in this game leave. And before you say that is fine and you would be ok with that, if that ever happend this game would be gone. This game cannot handle another mass of cancellations like the CU.

How would you feel if this was used on another profession? It makes no sense. It amazes me when people think up unique ideas to punish jedi simply for being jedi.

You've got the basic idea down perfectly (Except the new classes wouldn't be "Alpha", they'd all be balanced for a new level of play - Call the Elites, or actually increase CL by 10 to account for new status)- But to address GCW issues, we can finally add in the 4th tier everyone in the GCW Forum has been asking for.. It would be like this:

  • Tier 1: On Leave, no faction gain or losses

  • Tier 2: Combatant - Player vs NPC (With the new AI changes, this could be viable and fun)

  • Tier 3: Active Duty: As Special Forces is now, except Jedi are not involved, nor would the new Elite versions of all other combat professions.

  • Tier 4: Special Forces: New Elite Level combat - Jedi and the rest of the new Elite style classes battle here.
