Thread: Well....more Jedi junk

Its an exploit that is so endemic, I don't even think they realize its an exploit.
If you were a BH that had their mission, they'd get a message that they couldn't duel you because of the TEF.
And get this.... YOU wouldn't have seen the /duel message so you wouldn't knowTHEY knew you were there for 'em.
I can understand that sort of thing from a new paddy... but I get it all the time from full templates. THAT flat out irritates me. Anytime I attack a full template, I figure I'm doing THEM a favor. They're constantly whining that they're bored. But the only chance I have of winning a fight like thatis to start it on my terms.
I actually had one guy stop duelling, run over to an AFK-macro doc, get buffed to high heaven, then come to me, mouth in full gear, before I'd even gotten a return from my tracker. I just dropped the mission and left.

Yeah it is a retared bug, should be changed fast but heyt his is the SOE devs we're talking about.
Although when your in a city with 7+MBh's the tempation for me to use it was almost to much lol.
You all seem to forget that it started as a defence mechanism because BH's in groups were asking their targets to duel at which point the jedi could not fight back.
You reap what you sew.
I don't really pay any mind to the /duel /enduel thing. If I am after a Jedi, they don't know it because I either get them in a crowded place like the MOP or from 80m out under cover, which I crawled about 120m to get to... I find that the will never see me if I get to the 200m mark, /cover and then crawl in.
In my experience, I can actively target anyone who enters within about 125m of me. That seems to be the max range. Once they cross that barrier though, I can untarget/retarget them up to about 900-1000m though. I think it's a glitch in the system. That's WELL out of range for anything important or even worthwhile but it happens. I found this out from a starnge set of circumstances involving a bag I dropped inside a wall in my guild hall that was I named the same as my char. When the friend tried doing /tar legead it would target me until I was between 900-1000m away. but on the way back, he couldn't target me until I was around 125m or so. It's odd, but it does happen.
I like the person's idea who said they report em for harrassment. That's a great idea, although not sure if it qualifies, since the /report so-and-so is generally for chat harrasment, but who knows?
I want rifle crawl speed!!!
THen we could sneak up under cover without having to watch a movie whilewewait to get in range of the jedi ![]()

Whats this about? I know jedi do it to BHs but its annoying as heck....
PARANOIA
n.
1. A psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason.
2. Extreme, irrational distrust of others.

I really shouldn't have put that "you reap what you sew" line in there, there are always *system exploiters* on each side trying to gain an edge, not a lot of players, but certainly enough to cause issues big enough that need to be addressed and I am getting tired of reading complaints on both sides, bh's shooting from bikes in water, jedi with open duels on and such. I am a member of both sides and am really waiting until the system is tweaked enough to make my gameplay experience enjoyable. If system duel messages are that annoying, maybe a fix to turn off system messages displaying onscreen as an option would be decent.
Or, make it so a bh is attackable by the jedi after the mission is accepted.
