Thanks for the replies everyone!

If youre into Jedi bounties, Check the BH forums for the best templates. If you are content to do NPC bounties, which are a lot of fun, they just dont pay 100-200K a pop, you dont need a super template. Heres my template, it gets me by just fine

Master BH

Rifles 3040

Ranger 0440 (The track it and Camp Template)

MScout

The only time I have ever had a problem with a bounty was when I killed one, and he didnt die. He got right back up, his name saying "Corpse of XXX" and proceeded to kill my speeder, then nearly kill me, before walking off and despawning. Other than him, I have had no problems whatsoever.

However, if I may suggest a variation on your tempate, that would let you keep some ranger skills, and be useful to you in jedi hunting, I offer the following.

MBH

Ranger 0040

MScout

Rifles 4340

I believe this will give you several good things to choose from. Conceal (when you can get it to work, it turns you invisible),, all the bounty hunter abilities (Many of which you would find useful in a fight with Jedi, believe me, plus, it gets you access to all the spynet guys in the game. Not all spynet personnell will talk to all bounty hunters. Also, it gets you access to all the BH droids, and some BH droids are better than others.)

It also lets you keep area track people, so if your droids lose track of your quarry as you get close, you can save the cash on a droid, and simply track him using track. IT will also tell you if there are any other Jedi with him, once you get to know the names of other Jedi on the server, and let you be prepared in case of a group gank situation. Last, Rifles 4304 gives you many different abilities you would find interesting and useful in a PVP fight. In my dueling people, I have only lost one duel, and that was to a combat medic who spammed paralyze on me. When he didnt have me paralyzed, I had him blinded, knocked down, snared, and bleeding. All of these abilities would be very useful on a Jedi, trust me.

That template sounds like a good one, I'll have to give it a try with the respec. Just another question, what weapon would you usually use when PvPing, with your template?

Personally, I use the Light Lightning cannon (I have half a dozen Krayt ones), or an Elite Carbine, or a Beam Rifle (My Signature weapon was being crafted last night when the server crashed frackit. It was going to be a Krayted Beam Rifle with an Imp Stock.

The good thing about the LLC and the Beam Rifle is they do both normal, AND Elemental damage, thereby doubling their damage output in a way. The Scatter has higher base damage, and a higher DPS, but it only does Heat, and no elemental. If you can, get ahold of a Krayt Jawa rifle, it is even better than an LLC (Dont ask me why, it makes no sense) and use that. If you use the template I suggest, your CL will be more than high enough. In PVP, once you figure out what specials to use in what order, you will kick serious tail with the weapons I mentioned. Also, remember to match your weapons against your opponents armor. Jedi cant wear armor, so no problem, but other people can, and yoiu need to know what will work on what armor, and be prepared. People claim the CU has been dumbed down, but really, other than the flashy graphics thgat make it all look like a kids game, and the simple armor stats, it requires a lot more thought. Heres an example of a recent bounty I did (NPC bounty)

/maskscent and use droids to find the target. Spend the next 15 minutes driving across the planet tracking him down, and avoiding the local wildlife. It was Dathomir, and I was alone, so this was a REALLY good idea.

I found the target, and got off my speeder, made sure my maskscent was still on, then store the speeder while still 90 meters away. Looked at the target to see if they were wearing armor. They were wearing partial Chitin. Chitin is Assault, so it is Energy armor. Ok, Energy based weapons are a noper. Pull out the Light Lightning cannon. Sure, its base is Energy, but it does Electrical as well, so it will shred him like tissue paper.

Get to 50 meters. The target sees me just as I get so I can open fire. Start off with a blind attack, then a KD attack. Maskscent has dropped because combat started, so I keep an eye on my radar. I shoot the guy in the knees so he cant run up to me real fast, then I put on into his chest so he starts bleeding. Then I shoot him in the head just to keep him off my case. He starts running up to me at half speed. So I knock him down again for a few seconds, and shoot him in the head again. Then I see he's not blind any more, so I put one in his right eye. He's nearly dead, but now he's in my face. I use the novice marksman knockdown attack, and run away a few meters, shooting him in the head a couple more times, and poof, he's dead, and I win. Now, in the old system, it would have gone differently. I would have driven to the bounty unmasked cause I could kill anything shy of an elder, and once I got there, I would have used Strafe 2 to kill him in about 3 seconds. I told the dead bounty to try not to piss off the BHG in his next life, and drove off.

If this game were any more screwed, it would come with a free hotel room.

What are you people who aren't double elite masters getting for your combat level?

Rangers get combat level bonus now too. So master ranger plus master combat gets to level 80.

My Template is Master Rifleman, Ranger 4/0/4/3, BH 0/0/4/0

My CL is 76 and I have about ~2850 Health

By Having 5% less combat level than Double Elite would give me and diversifying my skill sets I gain an average of16.1% more pointsOffense, Defensive, and Speed Attributes, not to mention 2 additional Advanced Ranged weapon abilities (Improved Underhand and Advanced Confusion). So far I am very happy with this set up.

BTW: Have any other rangers noticed that Phecanine Traps seem to be completley rooting creatures at least some of the time? (instead of just slowing them down)

Master Smuggler

TKM

4000 Commando

0003 Pistoleer

This would let me get the innate armor of TK since I'm not really a huge fan of the way any of the recon. armor looks. It'd give me the crowd control specials, tanking abilities, and some cool weapons like Launcher Pistol to AE root things and lag the crap out of everything. Then grenades too. Grenades are cool.

Whatcha guys think?

Seems ok to me. Not being level 80 with MBH in your profile is an advantage in my opinion. You won't be noticed as much and some Jedi might get cocky.

Go 4000 CM instead so you can get two Advanced heals instead of two improved ones. Maybe the improved ones are better, but you hear about 4000 CM stuff more often for a reason (plus, you save SP by investing in only 1 line in Medic instead of two with doctor).

Seargent - Wookie TKM/Sword0030/Fencer0400/Doc4004 - Eclipse
Seagent Striker - Human Jedi - Eclipse

thats why you hear about the CM...most people are attracted that they can do a double master and still have a line of CM
